Problem being with colchester is that the pressure is pretty much off for them so they can play for fun.... i've seen so many small teams turn on the style when its game over already for them with nothing left to play for. I just hope we dont get a spanking from them.

Its the same situation as when we played Scunny, if we cant beat them then we deserve to go down.

Truth of the matter is that we have 'on paper' the better run in, all 4 of these games are winnable (is that a word). I think 8 points will just be enough as we have a superior goal difference so it gives us an extra point (reletively speaking). Barnsley should be the most worried followed by Sheff Wed next comes Southhampton and us then Cov Scum.

In the last 6 games we've picked up 7 points, 8 points from 4 games, optimism is an understatement.

Although we are rapidly running out of games to play - and points - it's now a case of now or never.

Win on Saturday yes, it's a must. But then we need something from Barnsley, a point no less will do and then we need to overturn Sheffield Wednesday at home. I'm writing off the Stoke game - very difficult.

This would give us a WDWL scenario. I can't see a WWWL scenario. No chance.

Colchester worry me. If they play like they did last week, it's trouble people. Just because Barnsley have tough games "on paper" means pretty much now't. Would you have predicted a 2-0 lead for Sheff Wed last night? No.

Sheff Wed at home will be difficult. Draw specialists. Like ourselves. 1 goal in it, either way. 1-0 win, 1-0 loss. Who scores first.

Stoke - forget it. If we're playing catchup by then, we've already screwed up the previous games and unfortunately, have probably lost it.

That's what worries me. I think Scunny wanted it more than us when we played them - determined, quicker to the ball, better passing - and they're as good as gone.

But on a wider point, doesnt it speak volumes about how tough the gap is between the Premier League and the Championship when there are five clubs - us, Sheff Wed, Southampton, Cov and I guess Barnsley as well - all ex-PL with serious cash problems behind them and in a different season, all of them could well have gone down.

I'd love it if we'd spent all season not being able to win 2 in a row and then went and won the next 3 in a row

but isn't that just the sort of unpredictable thing we'd do... the one thing that is giving me hope, is that we have been at our best when it's been least expected (cf. the wins against top clubs, ending those unbeaten runs, chelsea etc.) i'm just hoping that the siege mentality and the underdog spirit kicks in this weekend!
