That's the final nail in the coffin, there's no way I'm moving to London now. I've already got a village idiot in charge of my football club, I don't want one in charge of my city too.

Better Boris than Korrupt Ken!

:celebrate::scarf:lol

The only thing I know about Boris Johnson was seeing him rugby tackle a German PM in a football match between the British and German PM's lol

I really couldn't give a fúck. Most of London couldn't either judging by the turnout.

North > South.

Midlands > North > South!

yeah it's all happening exactly like it always was going to. David Cameron will be prime minister next. I know everyone's saying it now, but I was saying it years ago, before anyone else did.

I think people judge Boris on his image too much (which sadly is probably more a reflection on today's politics where policy and ideas are not really necessary, just how you present). Granted Boris is a typical eccentric but he's not the fool some people think. His record as an MP for Henley is strong. Give him a chance and I think he'll surprise.

Haha Boris!

He was quality on Have I got news for you

Absolutely. Look on Youtube, there must be some clips of the episodes he's been on.

I think he may surprise a few people and do quite well as Mayor of London.

Not really a surprising turn-up, that.

I am quite into politics and all that jazz (Yes, I have no life)

My personal opinion is that Boris is an absolute legend. He doesn't take any shit, tells people how it is, and has no respect for useless cnuts such as Harriet 'I wear a bullet proof vest to walk around London at 2pm in the afternoon' Harman.

Boris for PM.

After the tories big wins this is the last thing they want, some idiot making them look bad at a time when they were finally making progress.

what a scary , scary day. people who think he's 'quality' say so only because he's a complete buffon. it's not funny now because he's going to be making decisions that actually affect people. i can't believe it...and we laugh at america having Bush

His buffoon image is quite clearly a personna, but a personna that allows him to be much more human and honest than many MP's without taking flak for it.

Behind that he's a very, very intelligent man. There really is nothing to worry about.

'Nail', 'Head', 'Hit', 'The' 'On'

It was a funny election in London, two big characters and a lot of it had little to do with ordinary party politics and yet there was some pretty hefty turnout for what was a local election… I went down to London to help out with the Bozza campaign (what I do with my spare I time… ) and it was a really positive experience.

What strikes me as odd though is that we go on about how politicians should connect with people and be more human and less self serving then moan when we think their not serious enough or seen to be frivolous... you cant have it both ways!

Either you have politicians who you accept are human, mostly well intentioned, can make mistakes that they learn from and in responses we cut them a little slack and make an informed judgment on their performance and personality…

Or

We pretend that politicians are all useless, incompetent, crooks and yet try and hold them to ridiculously high standards and are, unsurprisingly, left totally disappointed and cynical about the whole process.

Is it any wonder that folks are so disenchanted with politics when we have such warped attitude towards it?:dunno:
