So are we gonna spend this summer just recruiting as many old dogs as possible with the hope that they still have a little quality to get us back into the Championship then? Great... fan-bloody-tastic.

Haven't we been doing that for years now!?! IT'S NOT WORKING!!! We need to build a squad of players that are going to be able to stay together for a good few seasons so we can keep momentum. If we start bringing in all these oldies then we are just looking to build a team for this season and come next year, they'll all be off again and we'll have to start again... its madness!

Byefield would be good in league 1 if he gets decent service.

I'm hoping that despite the interest from top flight clubs that the two young full-backs might want to stay at their hometown club for a year and get us straight out of League One.

Gareth McAuley will almost certainly go to Ipswich for around £1.5mil and Bruno N'Gotty is linked with Sheffield United.

Birmingham City have been put off Patrick Kisnorbo due to his injury and i hear we have been linked with Gary Breen and Andy Todd in the centre of defense.

In midfield captain Clemence is staying and hopefully we can secure the services of David Bell but i haven't heard any other transfer rumours.

As for up top, please rid of Howard to Wolves for £1mil, Watford are interested in DJ Campbell (heaven knows why!) and QPR are interested in Hume for £1mil.

I've heard we're in for Rochdale's Adam LeFondre but hopefully that isn't for more than half a million and i believe that Jay Bothroyd or Darren Huckerby might actually be worth a look at . .

Byfield would be decent at this level, but surely he'd be a stop gap until we went up again? So, unless we get rid of Hayles, i'd not be pursuing it really. Get rid of Hayles though and give the lad a one year deal.

I agree completely, Jay Bothroyd is the type of player we've been looking at for years, a typical money hungry journeyman footballer.

If the relegation has taught us one thing, it has to be to leave these type of players alone.

Didn't think this was worth it's own thread, but it isn't quite a transfer rumour in that it's not someone that's coming to us. But anyway. Apparently Paul Anderson of Liverpool has rejected both Forest and Derby because he refuses to go to one of our rivals. Just a tidbit. Their loss as well, he's a good winger.

I see in todays SUN Marton Fulop could be going to PSV Eindhoven for £500k.

Very good deal for PSV, and Fulop deserve ChL footie. Steal at 500k, I rate Fulop higher than 2/3 of the Premiership keepers.

Not Sure i believe that, yes hes a City fan but will never make it at Liverpool so doubt he would risk his career like that!

Why? After a few decent performances in the Championship you rate him higher than 2/3 of Premiership keepers. :crylaugh:
