Foxestalk - The influence over a Young lad

We are special because we deserve to be.

I guess there are hardly any other teams in the U.K. with such a loyal support throughout all these decades.

Leicester City FC will be impressive in League One - at least on the supporters' side.

Your post, greenfox, really sums it up what dedication means and why it makes this club so different from all the others.

We've had so many turbulent times, but one thing always stood out as the stabilizing factor and that were guys like you.

Thanks. This post should be made mandatory to every glory hunter. Ah no, leave them where they are. They wouldn't understand.

If only the team had read that at the beginning of this season, things could've done differently.

Anyway, I'm also looking forward to the upcoming campaign because it'll give us a very fresh start with loads of enthusiasm, entertaining

days out at home or away with a proper support, good laughs, some beer and chants that'll do us and the team some proud.

After countless arguments with people about why I support Leicester City, especially when I live down here, this was one of the greatest things ive ever read, just reinforces my arguments with Arsenal "fans" down here saying "Ive never even heard of Leicester till i met you", the same person that goes to games because his dad takes him but has NEVER watched a game on T.V. He never knows how Arsenal are doing or even who hes been to see arsenal against! He will never know what supporting a propper team truly feels like :):scarf:

And the fact that your son is just proud to be a Leicester fan no matter what he has to take from other "fans". I just love it! I wish there were more people like that down here, your son is a total legend!

I love being a Leicester fan, makes me one of the greatest 30,000 ish people on earth :):scarf:

Theres far more than that mate. We've had over that at games. Sorry to be pedantic like, but im sure you know what i mean anyway. lol

Fantastic post aswel greenfox. Thats what its all about.

Good point - I was going to say 40,000 but I would have had someone laugh at me lol

Theres probably more than that actually, mainly people like me dotted around the country and the Globe (like the Ozzies :) ) :scarf:

Faaaaar more id pof thought. Theres well over 250,000 people just in Leicester, thats not counting Leicestershire. So say 30% of those support Leicester, 75,000 and thats just in Leicester. It's a big place.

I was at that game at Sheffield United. And it was a brilliant day 3 - 0 down, singing still. Sheff U fans didn't sing at all! And we were singing all the way through. Makes me proud to be a Leicester fan. And when we kept on singing, i forgot for a moment that we were 3 nil down, cause i was enjoying my self too much. It felt like that we were winning! :D

Yeah, we were pretty awful that day, albeit a decent solid 2nd half with 10 men.

The day was already ruined in the 10th minute when Kisnorbo got sent off, 1-0 down, it quickly became 3 nil. People paid good money to get to the game, so you might as well make the most out of a shit situation.

Bad result, but fantastic day out.

i hope he never makes another post!

pure class,

On Sunday i had a different day to everyone else, for my 21st a family friend bought me and my dad tickets in a box at the Arsenal Everton match on Sunday, (my family's not rich its just he has contacts, his dad is ex england manager Don Revie) when i was sitting there i was listening to the everton crowd below and the arsenal crowd, both there support were woeful, the best everton could muster was "we are everton, everton, everton" and Arsenal in response was "arsenal, arsenal Aaarsenal" etc and most of the time it was silent. i've been to a few away games this year and our support it amazing. and for the first 44mins last saturday it was the best support at the walkers since it opened.

one thing we ALWAYS do is sing when were losing, as soon as a goal goes in!!! its so important

We have the best set of fans on this earth, and this post sums it up in words i could have never of imagined.

League one is going to a revelation and is going to show the footballing world what LEICESTER is all about, we going to come back stronger, fighting!

congrats on post of the year mate, you defently have my vote ;)

Top post but I think everyones going a bit over the top with this fantastic fans thing.

There's been some pretty shocking attendances/atmospheres at away games this year and the Walkers could host the international pin dropping championships.

Everyone pulled together and was magnificent at the end of the season, but generally we've been nearly as inconsistent as the players.

Awesome post.

Credit must go to Mark, for creating this forum which has enabled us to meet so many great people, and even when times are hard, have so many great times.

We have an end of season Foxestalk match, on May 17th at St. Margarets Pastures, come down with you and your lad, if you want to introduce yourself!

Also, it's great that your son has realised what the other aspect of being a supporter is.

I'm Leicester 'til I die

I'm Leicester 'til I die

I know I am

I'm sure I am

I'm Leicester 'til I die.

...and some folks hate the whole "shoes off" thing--look what it's done!

Hitting rock bottom is never good, but making the best out of a poor situation and recovering is as worthy of a goal as a person or a group can have. I don't enjoy Leicester's relegation at all, but if it can produce the loyalty and passion described in greenfox's post, then we're already on our way. That was refreshing to read.

That's my niece's favourite chant. When you see or hear things like that about the children, it brings a tear to the eye. I believe the children are our future. Teach them well, and let them lead the way.

 welcome greenfox, and don't leave it so long for post no. 2!

I'm such a twat. I got a bit of a lump in my throat reading that. This is what it's all about. All the effort is for this.

Haha. Same. I'm an emotional twat sometimes but that post was pretty bloody special.

Hi been reading Foxestalk for a while now & thought i would share this with you all.

The special moment came away at Shef utd a few weeks back , there i was with my 11 year old lad stood in front of what i believe is to be you fine chaps of Foxestalk who i have seen over various away games.

The 3rd goal goes in and is that despair starting to seep through the away end. But no instead of Despair singing was getting louder , jokes were getting funnier

As the game went on my lads face who is obsessed with the blue & white of our great Club & City started to smile , Amazing 3-0 down & he was seeing the true reason of why he was right to follow his old man & support his home town club instead of the lure of his mates & the Premier league wannabe fans.

When the shoes off chanting started he was in heaven & joined in with the chants & as his mum doesnt go to games ( well i have followed leics in 70's & 80's and women wernt allowed then ( nothing wrong with that now though) i allowed him to venture into mild obscence chanting its football different rules apply to outside the ground so why not he's a teenager in 18 months & he will know more words than me then.

Anyway after 90 mins scoreline still 3-0 but after a credible 2nd half performance we started filing out of the ground after the final whistle , even at 11 he knows you stay till the end.

Then it happened he looked up to me & said " Dad thats the best Leicester game i have ever been to, now he has been to many many games over the last 4 years including a few great victories, BUT he has realised following Leicester is about being with your mates or parents & enjoying yourself because no matter what other fans say about your team, You know that you dont care because they will never ever be lucky enough to be born in Leicester and be part of what is without doubt the greatest Club & fans in the Country.

That moment when he realised this at such a young age will stay with me for ever.....

And on Sunday when he cried when relegation was confirmed , within 10 mins i had convinced him that for us it matters not , still every Saturday we will get in the car & arrive amongst 2000 other Leicester fans in another City , the songs will still be there, the jokes will be funnier , More games as tickets are cheaper , Better pubs ,& still 11 players trying to carve out cult status to support, And we will have players who over the next 12 months will only be here because they want to play for Leicester.

To finish of my story & what inspired me to join today & donate a few pounds to Foxestalk is from a post i read on Monday regarding your proposed new flag.

It Was that 30 years ago when i was at school i remember the s##t i used to get from so called 80's Liverpool fans about supporting Leicester & i knew that some of the kids at my lads school in Wigston would try & wind him up .

The post i read was about your flag & the words we are on a league 1 tour for a year & every night this week he has come home & said about the grief he is getting & his reply was to them i dont care as we are on a league 1 tour and i will be going to every match what will you be doing on a saturday afternoon. and with that comment they have all shut up..

So to all of you , thanks for your high spirts at Shef Utd & thanks for the we're on a League 1 tour comment it has made my job as a dad to a 11 year old fan much easier & you know what the last 2 months has made him a Leicester Fan for life as i truly now know he has been encaptured by what it means & that is belonging to something very very special.

So stuff your 4 years of Championship we have had to endure , This next Season is going to be one of our greatest ever because the fans will stick together & enjoy the joy as so many have before of being a true Leicester fan & this time next year Rodney.......... we will be Champions.. because who cares about being millionaires

I salute you all........

Thank You for a great post. Nearly cried while reading it. This post gives me all the arguments I need to convince my 13 yrs old son that City is and always will be our special team.
