Nurofen

Last night, I was in agony with a sore throat and earache. Couldn't sleep, and was feeling depressed at the thought of a summer cold ruining my chance to go to a mates BBQ on Thursday (before I was told its going to piss it down). At 6am, when the newsagent opened, I was straight down, bought 4 packets of soothers and 2 packets of Nurofen. I ignored the instructions on how many to take (2 every 4 hours). I took 6. It knocked me out for most of the day, and when I woke up, no pain! The BBQ may be back on. If I don't feel better, I will just O.D. again.

So, Nurofen, thank you! You have reopened the path to a drunken Thursday!

Well that's not really a wise thing to do - you're right about the power of these things.

I just get standard ibuprofen as it's all the same stuff, but a few of the extra strength version of those and you're sorted.

Don't know why people bother with any other painkillers.

I have tried them and they are very good, but you can get a packet of a decent dose of ibuprofen for much, much cheaper.

Wilko's Ibuprofen are 32p for 16. You even get a choice of round pills or caplets.

Good old Wilko.

I presume that anti-inflammatories (which is what I believe Ibuprofen is) are a bit less dangerous than paracetamol type painkillers, as there doesn't appear to be any restriction on how many you can buy in one go. My chemist sold me a jar of 100 tablets not long ago

You need some Diclafenac.

Morphine-based pain killer. Only available on perscription, but I have a supply that I no longer need if anyone would like to try (Masterfox...)

Co-codamol's a rubbish.

Solpadols are where's it's at.

2 of those on an empty stomach and you're in for 3 hours of madness and numbness.

Frightening.

My body was not great after one tiny Anadin tablet. If I'd taken two, I could have died. :(

Rubbish painkillers.

Co-codamol is where it's at.

The hospital strength stuff is the business.

i couldn't have made it though this last week without a steady stream of paracetamol, ibuprofen and lemsip. never again will i claim a cold is the flu. i think you can take para's and ibu at the same time for that extra pain killing kick. well i do anyway!

Why do people bother with Lemsip?

Buy a few lemons and a jar of honey. Boil the kettle, neck 2 6 paracetamol and enjoy a hot lemon and honey drink... much better for you.

And yeah as someone already mentioned get a vindaloo down you, they actually do help.
