It could potentially hit £2 a litre before the end of the year I think. That would force me to reconsider pointless journeys

I'd offer you 500-1 on that.

Thank God I live in a city where public transportation works well (but costs a bombshell) and the infrastructure welcomes bicycles. I had a car while I lived in Belgium but had to pay the it's price over 5 times just to get it registrated on Danish number plates!! That's when I went out and got a bike instead :P

Oh and the petrol prices are around £1.21 where I live...

While people are still paying it - the price will increase.

And I'll pay it because:

a) I'm lazy

b) I like driving

I will keep paying, because....

a) Work pays

I rememer when I first Passed, petrol was 80p a litre. Then it went up to 90p and I bitched for weeks. I would happily take anything under £1 now.

Finally got so pissed off today I went down the supermarket and bought a stationary pack to write to the government about the high tax. I've heard some villains put vegetable Oil in their diesel cars and save a lot of money...

Why would they be villains? If some arsehole's stealing from you then you should have every right to react how you like. Even worse when the thieves pretend to be the Party of the Poor and build in every protection they can think of for themselves.

Is this the same sort of logic that meant it was alright to drink drive and kill people if you're a woman.

The spread in Ottawa today is about 5p (10c) - from a low of $1.195/litre (59.8p or so) to a high of $1.294 (64.7p).

Some of the locals are bitching about how expensive it is as they fill up their 10mpg rated trucks/vans/SUV things.

Morons.

Mind you, so conditioned to love petrol prices around the 80c/l mark, even those with dinky little cars cry when it breaks $1. :giggle:

£1.289 in my Village.

Running a diesel on Vegetable Oil or any other type of cooking oil is not illegal. We have an old Japanese import (Mitsubushi Delica c1990) and Im seriously considering using it as an alternative. Only problem is getting enough C.Oil at a cheap enough price to make it worthwhile.

£1.14 in my village - bastards.

I filled up this morning at Parkers in Syston. It was about the same.

It was only a few months ago when it hit a pound.

Bumped up to £1.15 now.

It's not helping my ever decreasing bank balance.

My new car has a fuel computer in it, and it's quite an eye opener what difference your driving makes to fuel consumption.

The difference between cruising at 60mph and 80 is about 15mpg.

Expect to be stuck behind me soon.

Don't expect things to get any easier in the near future:

Hmmm, don't I know it. My right foot is just remarkably heavy though. :(

It's brilliant!

I used to be only able to get £40 petrol in my car and now I can get £55!
