Webbo Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 ANYONE FOR STURROCK??????????? If we wanted him he'd leave Plymouth in a heartbeat.
Moreton Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 If we wanted him he'd leave Plymouth in a heartbeat. It has to be either Ince or Ferguson (Jr) why not?, i'm acually quite shocked. Some guy sed in the Merc yesturday that the main reason for us being relegated was cuz we had 4 different managers in one season, so the worst thing we could do is to get rid of Holloway. I agreed with him and i don't think this is good news
Filberts lovechild Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Finally, that is the best news we have had since the relegation. I'm hoping we get in a bloke that can really take us forward and I wouldn't mind Paul Lambert if I'm honest. We just need to sort the squad out and cull the numbers. I'm guessing from what knowitall said this now means that Hume and Gradel will now be staying
Daggers Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Who ever he appoints next is going to need a thick skin or a big ego, probably both because anything other than instant promotion will be seen as failure, there is going to be no consolidation season in this league and I guess that if we are not fast off the starting blocks the new manager will be gone by Chrimbo regardless of who it is! I couldn't agree more - the first is inevitable which leads inexorably to the second. As I said in a previous post, I am saddened over this because I think it has just guaranteed us our place as this season's Div.3 Forest...and the next...and the next... Anyone up for a sweep on how many managers we'll get through next season?
Houdini Logic Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 For everyone that said - 'i'll get my ticket when Holloway goes' Time to get your cash out, yeah?
Webbo Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Well at least now Ollie's gone all those players who we were told were going to leave because they hated Ollie, Hume , Stearman, Mattock, Gradel etc will all want to stay in the third division and earn less money now, just because they love our fans.
C.J Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Well, if MM was ever gonna do it, nows the best time. Get Walsh and Tags in with frank Burrows in A.S.A.P. Good luck for the future Ollie, your a decent bloke.
Master Fox Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Well at least now Ollie's gone all those players who we were told were going to leave because they hated Ollie, Hume , Stearman, Mattock, Gradel etc will all want to stay in the third division and earn less money now, just because they love our fans. Shame. I hate the players more than any manager we had.

Do i detect a hint of cynicism? To be fair though, football is like most jobs - pay aside, if you don't get on with your boss then it makes for an unpleasant environment.
maddog Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 I think Milan has made a real mistake in letting Ollie go. There goes our stability yet again. For Fook sake Milan get a real good manager this time.
Jack Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Didn't expect this until atleast a few more weeks. Need to get the right bloke in now and pretty soon so he can get his own players in and focus on getting promoted next year.
Number 6 Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Have to say I am a little disappointed but will reserve full judgement until I see who the replacement is.

Chairman of the Bored Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 If Donny lose tomorrow against Leeds, Sean O'Dricoll is the man.
Sods Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Cheers Holloway would of liked you to stay for next season, but their you go. To be honest I can see the pros and cons on why he should stay or not. Milan I hope you bloody get it right this time.

I agreed with him and i don't think this is good news I agree! Bad decision, i agree Ollie is Limited but he would of got us out of League 1, maybe not the Championship though! Now the new man as to take stock and its another huge summer, god i hope MM gets it right!

If he's not good enough to get us out the Championship, then why is it a bad decsion?
Daggers Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 FiveLive - Fighting Talk...Slating Mandaric - "He's an idiot and a blight on football" Twice now he's been caned. The wider world of sport thinks he's an idiot. Official.
Master Fox Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 FiveLive - Fighting Talk...Slating Mandaric - "He's an idiot and a blight on football" Who said that? A Leicester fan?
smokey Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 If he's not good enough to get us out the Championship, then why is it a bad decsion? Because we need stability and now we have lost that again! He would be ok in league 1 and with the state of the club getting out of that league is all that matters at mo! Forget getting in Prem for a while! Thatas what i meant!

Forget getting in Prem for a while! Thatas what i meant! I'm not bothered about the Premiership to be honest. He probably would be ok in League 1, but then again, if he's lost the dressing room and the players aren't certain he can do the job, then it really would be a downward spiral. Stability is something this club needs. I wanted Holloway to get us out of it, but I the decsion has been made and we must (once again) back the new manager.
Koke Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 I wake up and this is the first piece of news I hear He tried, he failed and came short. And he has now paid the price. Life goes on at our miserable shit club. Good luck in whatever you do in the future, Ollie.
