The yanks believing deranged Liz Truss speaks for British people. She is utterly and genuinely crackers, I no longer think it's a grift. I think the lettuce saga pushed her mind over the edge.

It's been death-worshipping supremacist ideals exhibiting the very worst impulses our species has to offer all along mate. Trump winning the election has just allowed people like Truss to take the mask fully off.

No, I just think she can’t take the criticism and humiliation that she’s had mentally and this is how she’s compensated. She didn’t believe this in the past; she’s gone there because of a personal inability to accept responsibility.

I honestly can't see how someone can so completely abandon any moral compass they have outside of movie villain origin stories, but I guess it's possible.

For me, there had to at least be a bit of those reprehensible ideas within, even if they weren't running the whole show to begin with.

It was probably never that strong in the first place, but essentially she’s been radicalised by everyone laughing at her. She hates that lettuce.

... that really does sound like cheap movie villain origin story tbh.

Someone in General just asked if anyone saw this coming - and the answer is yes, he's been saying what's coming and now here it is. He even told his supporters they won't have to vote again in 4 years time. Can the denial end now, please, and quickly?

Yep, and the ideas he represents and their endgame have been obvious for the last decade.

Dunno, I think she has completely lost her mind. She’s a national humiliation and abject failure, that will have a profound effect on anyone’s mental state

Yeah, @Dunge inferred similar above.

It could be true, but I do think that would at most magnify what's already there than create it.

I think it's slightly underestimated how much people in the public eye can themselves be radicalized by stuff in the media. There are for example loads of seemingly quite intelligent celebrities who have spiralled into posting pretty unhinged stuff daily on social media. This is probably especially true for someone like Truss who as you say was totally humiliated in 2022.

Having said that she always was a bit unhinged.

Some may have noticed that practically every f****g post I make has to be subsequently edited (for typos). It's infuriating. I'm similarly inept at texting.

EDIT: For typos.

Same, I notice straight away but only after I've hit send.

I'm forever editing WhatsApp messages since that was a function due to typos or missing words.

Some tw*t seeing the performance of Hamlet at RSC as the perfect opportunity to set the crisp world eating record right behind me.

I dealt with it in the perfect British way by raging inside and saying nothing for 90 minutes. When I saw he'd rearmed during the interval I did ask if could eat slightly quieter and thankfully he didn't consume a further bite. Hope he's not perished from starvation by going 90 minutes  without eating garbage.

Great show though.

To eat, or not to eat, that is the question.

Never leave home without it. It's the spiritual successor to seeing #Wenger Out signs during some military coup parade.

Don't worry about it. I'm starting to wonder if people think "Edited just now by bovril" is my signature.

Steve Bannon. If some of you were still in denial, the outright Fascism is out there in plain sight now.

And let there be no mistake anyone voting Tory or reform will be fully behind bannon, trump and musk.

You'll know what you're doing next time you go to the polls.

You'll be a traitor to the UK.

EON next, what is it with these energy companies.  We are in arrears with our account, but have a plan in place to pay them off by the end of March.  I had a long chat with their customer services on Friday and received an email to confirm the conversation on the same day. Yesterday I got a call from EON asking to speak about the account, as I was slightly suspicious I asked them to send an email.  The email appeared to be legit so I rang them this morning.  They wanted to know when I was next intending to make a payment and I said this was discussed on Friday.  They then wanted to know other details, which were also dealt with on Friday.  I told them this and they got quite defensive.  I decided to end the call quickly and rang their complaints dept, because this started to feel like harassment.  The lady purporting to work in complaints told me that an automated system makes the call (because the account is in arrears) and the customer services person then picks up the call, once the caller has passed security.  The customer services person has therefore no idea about why the call as been made and doesn't seem to read the notes.  I said that was ridiculous and advised her that once we have cleared the arrears will be looking for another supplier.  I have now just received two texts from them starting with the line “Great to chat!” . No it f**king was not!!
