Asha Posted 31 July 2008 Posted 31 July 2008 I don't know, that's kind of why I asked. Useful thing, profiles.

Lillehamring Posted 31 July 2008 Posted 31 July 2008 Nah, Stockholm. Also have a mate that went to Goteborg but the g/f has her heart set on Stockholm and it's really a present for her. Putting me out of pocket, mind. I knew Stockholm was expensive but sheesh! oddly enough, i was promised a trip to stockholm, by the missus, hasn't materialised yet... i'm sure you'll love it anyway, i'm guessing it is still cheaper than here! and it's nice for you that she wants to go somewhere other than benidorm or wherever townies go these days...
Tilley Posted 31 July 2008 Posted 31 July 2008 I got back off my holiday last Friday, Had a bloody brilliant time, & I have a lovely tan. Thinking of booking up for Gumbet, Turkey in Oct. Has anybody been to Turkey in October? I was wondering what the weather is like around that time.

Has anybody been to Turkey in October? I was wondering what the weather is like around that time. last time I went on a holiday in October it was Corfu in Greece (oh what a wonderful Island), it rained for 4/7 days. It's touch and go in October as you can get the warm october nights. Just do some research on the weather averages for there. I'm sure it will be sunny for you.
Tabou Posted 31 July 2008 Posted 31 July 2008 Hopefully going to Paris in Sept/Oct. And it's my buffday (21st) in November so I really do want to go somewhere then.
Durnerz Posted 31 July 2008 Posted 31 July 2008 Just come back from Valencia, Spain (Got back to my house at 2am) Well......what an incredible trip! Lovely and relaxing, great city, average of 30'C while we were there, not a cloud in the sky! The city is beautiful and the people friendly although if you are going beware of the Spanish initial perception of the English, with Valencia being in between Benidorm and Barcelona they are very proud of their city and are very defensive against any type of British invasion of pissed up chavs and the like. (Thankfully me and Mrs D didnt fall into this category and they loved us) Had a lovely hotel, rooftop pool with stunning views of the city and Valencia's new stadium being contstructed right beside it, the place looks incredible and I hope to go back for a match sometime. Managed to catch a match at the Mestalla for free! A youth cup final was being played so a good opportunity to do a bit of scouting whilst sitting in the presidentual suite at the Mestalla Incredible ground also. City of Arts and Science is a must also, breathtaking structures and reasonably priced exhibits. On the whole an amazing city and a top week away by the Mediterranian sea, shame i'm back in shitty old England

Rincewind Posted 3 August 2008 Posted 3 August 2008 Off tomorrow. Nowhere exotic, just the GBBF. Helping out as a steward so I get free digs (student residence) Free beer at the staff bar an discount beer vouchers for the main hall. Makes a change to going somewhere like Spain and spening all my time in bars.

Two quality stadiums, some fantastic buildings and scenery, and loads of cheap backstreet bars, plus cheap travel and most locals speaking English. Wish I could have stayed there for three weeks!
Monk Posted 4 August 2008 Posted 4 August 2008 Valencia sounds good mate. I'm off to Scotland on Wednesday to the isle of Colonsay, by sea plane. Should be good, very few tourists and excellent photograhy conditions! Hoping to take in some of the Edinburgh festival too while I'm there. Can't wait.

I love Edinburgh - My all time favourite restaurant is there. We already have a table booked for this December.
Teeno Posted 4 August 2008 Posted 4 August 2008 Got back from Malia on Saturday. Was awesome. 4 drinks, one shot and a fish bowl to share only 5 euros! Don't know how I still managed to spend £800 in a week. Would deffinatly recommend Malia if your thinking of booking a lads holiday. Most of the bars are RnB and Hip hop so I don't think it's as good as Magaluf but was still a class week. If any of you go make sure you do the booze cruise. Oh and avoid the quad bikes! Ibiza next year, and a weekend back in Magaluf end of Septmeber.
