lavrentis Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Guilin as a city isn't particularly fantastic but I doubt you'd be going to sample the city centre. The scenery around it is pretty awesome however, and a trip to Yangshou would be necessary. Thanks, I'm looking forward to China.
Steven Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Anyone ever been to Hong Kong? Yes I would happily go back again. It has a great atmosphere.
Muz Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 We were strongly considering Kavos before we booked Zante because we knew how cheap it was outhere - cos some girls went there last year. That was the main reason we decided against Kavos because we knew people who had been there and we wanted somewhere different. Sounds like your holiday to Kavos was a C.B.S holiday then? It certainly was pal. Everythings pretty basic out there, specially greece. The maids in our hotel were renowned for being slags aswell, the rep told us that there was one of them that offered extras when she cleaned in the mornings. She was dog rough though, rather put it in a toaster tbh. FAO Muz - Any tricks of the trade to pass on. Did you have rules out there etc? I am keen on a rule for punishing people always texting their Mrs. Er not really mate. One of my faves is when one of the lads are asleep on the beach or round the pool ect write something on them with sun tan lotion. Some lad was walking round our hotel with ' I swallow ' on his chest
Thracian Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Grasse (near Cannes) end of next month. The exchange rate really sucks at the moment so less spendo than usual Grasse is great and, along with the area all around including Monaco and Les Iles de Lerin, one of my favourite places on earth. http://www.boatbookings.com/yachting_conte...iles_lerins.php Idyllic swimming pool too in Grasse, discretely tucked into the hillside overlooking the town and apparent "home" to some of the most beautiful girls on the planet. The perfume celebrations are legendary, running long into the night, the temperate climate is perfect for endless hours of volleyball, cool evenings encourage all sorts to play petanque or to arm wrestle for beers in the local cafe and the local baker serves bread hot from the oven if you're up early enough. At least that's how it used to be and last time I went it had not changed a bit from the first time. Oh yes and the guy on here who wanted to develop his calf muscles would have no trouble. Pre-breakfast runs up and down the steep and many steps of the old town would have those calfs fixed in no time. Happy days!
Bert Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 FAO Muz - Any tricks of the trade to pass on. Did you have rules out there etc? I am keen on a rule for punishing people always texting their Mrs. Taking it a bit too far. The best trick is to put a coin on them when they're asleep in the sun. Who's everyone booking their holidays with btw?
Teeno Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 Booked to go Zante July 26th going with 18 30. 12 of us going and can't bloody wait, seems like a lot are going Zante this year. We went Mali last year which was awesome, drinks are cheap as chips but taste shit. However several Flugels and Jager bombs and you couldn't care less. I'm thinking I'm gonna need a fortune this time with the Euro rate how it is. took £800 last year for a week and needed to withdraw more with 2 nights left. If your going with a group of lads make sure you go on the booze cruise, You'll probs fell ropey as fook to start with but when there chucking free drinks down ya neck you soon perk up.
Teeno Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 Taking it a bit too far. The best trick is to put a coin on them when they're asleep in the sun. Who's everyone booking their holidays with btw? I went in Thomas cook and most deals for Zante at end of July were about £450, left her my moblie number and she called back a week later and had an offer for us for £360 each and only need £30 deposite each. Be carefully booking on net, with the way things are at the moment you'll end up paying for your holiday then the bloody company you book with will go bust a week before you fly.
Floating Fox Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 What are you going to be doing there? 1 Euro a beer? HELLO
Uncle Albert Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 Taking it a bit too far. The best trick is to put a coin on them when they're asleep in the sun. Who's everyone booking their holidays with btw? We have some mean rules on ours - we have gone with Thomas Cook but through Midland Travel. The ladies in Midland Co-op travel are sexay! Loughborough one. Got us a banging deal.
JakeShingler Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 Day trip to Cromer with the lovely Corky. Er, I might not actually have mentioned this to him yet. But it's a shithole.

Grasse has changed a lot in recent years. Benefited from a lot of European investment. The whole town has had a facelift but managed to keep the authenticity of the place. When we first started going there it was very run down with boarded shos and homes. They still have their jasmine (perfume) festival every year. It lasts about a week with live bands and fireworks to kick it off. Going again this year.

Koke Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 I was in San Diego in 2001. Despite only being 17 at the time I was well gutted I didn't go to Las Vegas.
fox123 Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 I remember going on an 18-30's with my mates to Tenerife... what an absolute messy holiday that was...and I mean literally. Firstly I was ordered to sleep on the balcony because I kept singing out loud 'I just want to dance the night away' in my sleep (it wasn't just that line I sung either, it was the whole song). Then on our last night we were playing a drinking game with shots, so by the time we went out I was pretty hammered, we got to the bar underneath Linekers, can't remember what it was called...all I remember from that night is one minute dancing on the bar, the bar man said to me...if you can down this drink in one and be standing by the end of it, you can drink for free for the rest of the night... Well I drank the drink, and I remember then just slinking to the floor... after that I have no idea what happened, my mate tried to carry me home but I was running off into the road and all sorts, nearly getting run over by a bus in the process...apparently a couple came over to help him carry me back to the apartment and as they were, I was trying to fondle the womans tits and all sorts of things. Next day I woke up, absolutely soaked wet through...I had a right go at my mates asking which one had chucked water all over me, then I smelt it...it wasn't water, I'd pissed me self my mate ended up having to pack my case for me as I was struggling to walk. Will be sticking some photos up on Facebook soon of that holiday there are some beautys...those were the days.
Wycombe Fox Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 Going ski-ing to Morillon in the Grand Massif in France on 21st March for a week. Can't bloody wait!! Adrenaline rush just thinking about it. I'm determined to try my first black piste. Apartment £425, Easyjet to Geneva £318 - for 6 of us!
