The People's Hero Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 Bookedd my holiday for net year earlier to , laganas in zante, has anyone been there ?any good ? I've been. And yeah it was good. Stayed in Kalamaki when I went though - 5/10 mins out of Laganas - but ended up in Laganas every night.
Webbo Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 Well I got back this morning, thanks to everyone who wished me a good time, I did. The weather was perfect, 40 degrees but not humid at all. The cost of living out there is so cheap and the food was excellent. The shops out there only seem to sell fakes, there was a shopping centre selling nothing but. It's not unusual to see a poorly paid teenage bus conductor wearing Armani jeans a Ted Baker T-shirt and a Rolex watch. I almost bought a fake England shirt but I would have had to have Lampard's name on the back, so I bought a Fenebache shirt instead. PS. If you're a smoker you'll be heaven here, the pubs/restaurants are full of them.
Joe. Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 Well, well, well. Just got back from my holiday in Perpignan today. On the whole it was a fantastic holiday, definitely a place I'd recommend to people. Great weather and such a nice place. It was all going swimmingly until the flight back... The flight was at 22:35 and everything was normal. Checked in fine, got on the plane fine. Great. Or not. We got a tannoy message from the pilot saying we had a big problem, this being in the form of some pleb who decided to bump the luggage carrier into the plane. Good one mate. Therefore we had to get off the plane (after being told we would probably have to wait until the morning for a new flight) and wait in the airport for a bit. Then we were told the airport was closing in half an hour that it wasn't possible for another plane to be brought over in time so the flight was rescheduled for 09:45 the next morning, a nice 11 hours later. Luckily for us we had a place to go back to and we managed to get one of the last hire cars for the night (94 ****ing Euros!). But others had to fork out much more for taxis and hotel overnight accommodation. I'm sure there were others who didn't even have anywhere to go back to and just had to sleep outside the airport. All this because of one moron who can't see a plane whilst driving a luggage carrier Anyway, we eventually got the plane at 11:00 this morning (still over an hour late ) and I'm finally back.
Guest Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 Plane annoyance Makes an hour and a half stuck on a plane, stuck on the tarmac at Newark Airport seem insignificant now.... PS. By stuck, this is not meant in the literal sense, I mean, it wasn't like loads of little guys had to come out and remove adhesive from the tyres or owt....

Personally I think ladies from North Yorkshire are the best.
