"remember you are dust, and to dust you shall return"

Well, after a few woeful seasons - here he is, back in the Third Division. Can he cut it anymore? Do we want to keep him?

I vote Fryatt out, he has a problem we should stop trying to fix.

I've just had a bacon sarnie, and for some strange reason, I thought of Fryatt.

would probably rediscover his form if we kept him in this league but its probably best for all concerned if he leaves

because I think Fryatt can score goals in League 1 but he'll never be forgiven for all 796,537 of his misses last season.

The problem you've got is this. If he goes, and people on here (me included) want to see Howard and DJ go too, we're left with Hume and youth team players. We'd need to bring in 2 new strikers to cover this gap in the squad. Fryatt probably wouldn't attract a very high transfer fee, so what's the point in getting rid? May as well keep him and give him one last chance.

I want to see Howard and DJ out though. Complete waste of time, neither could give a monkeys last season. Yes, they have the ability at this level, yes they ought to finish near the top of the league 1 scoring charts, yes it's down right annoying that they haven't stepped up to the plate and delivered, but if they were sold, we'd at least get enough for them so that we could use the funds to look elsewhere.

I'm keeping fingers crossed that no-one comes in for Hume. That's the real worry here.

The problem with us and strikers is

we'd sell him, he'd net 30 for his new club and then we'd be left with egg on our face wondering why he coul never

do it for us!

I'm thinking Ashley Ward, Richard Cresswell even David Connoley (which i don't appear able to spell!)

neat touch, good control, was the difference until end of 05-06 season after signing. never been the same since.

awful, awful body language, numerous chances to get a regular starting slot have come and gone, not enough goals for 2 full seasons now.

torn. maybe its time to move him on but cant help think he could do a job if he is played in the right role.

tbf he was played out of position a lot last season.

up front with hume for novelty purposes?

craig levein

That was because he's got a shot on him like a party popper, mostly, which renders his undoubted skill at getting towards the goal with the ball semi-useless.

Wait and see what Pearson thinks. I think a manager like him combined with the slightly lower skill level of this league could really get him firing. Could. Leave it to him, cross our fingers.

but what exactly is his form?

he has had 2 good months in 2 and a half seasons where he scored more league goals than he has in the following 2 full seasons

7 goals in 48 starts and 20 sub appearances is simply not good enough at any level

Fryatt is a bit of an enigma every other player can be shit and gets abused left, right and centre yet Fryatt gets worshiped I have yet to discover the reason for this or the fact that when we need a goal people start chanting for a striker who has scored 2 league goals all season

I wouldn't be sad to see him go but I'd rather Howard and Campbell leave before him.

If he leaves to someone in this league then I think we might regret it but thats the risk we'll have to take.

I'm thinking Ashley Ward,

He's retired

Richard Cresswell

He was an integral part of the Stoke team that's just got promotion to the Premiership - wouldn't drop down to this level, and we probably couldn't afford him.

even David Connoley (which i don't appear able to spell!)

I'd have thought there'll be a few Championship clubs interested in him.

Did you actually read that post?

Should of got rid of him before when Wolves wanted him as we would of got a good price, but I think we might as well keep him now as I think he could score goals in this league. Plus it may restore some of his confidence.

I agree, he's been inconsistant for far too long. How many chances does he need. See ya Matty!

If fit, I think Fryatt will score quite a few goals this season. Whether Pearson wants to give him another chance here is another matter.

i want him out

yes he was good when he first came but hes not bin the same n is bettet off going

hume and hayles - league 1 top scores 08/09

We've been waiting too long for him to rediscover his form now, if we have the chance then I reckon we should get rid.

The amount of praise he got on here last season for doing **** all was unbeleivable. He's had his chance and blew it. I understand we're in a different league now, but I don't see any reason why he should get ahead of DJ or Hume.
