mikey54 Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 I always remember the furore when we were linked with David Speedie - another of those players you loved to hate when he played for the opposition - but exactly the type of player we needed at the time.
Tilley Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Toronto are in the MLS, right? MLS = $! Although, depends if he is willing to move over to Canada.

MC Prussian Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 ummm...what are you doing listening to radio leicester at 8 in the morning? Listening to Radio Leicester at eight in the morning, perhaps?
Jack Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 I thought that he had moved to Toronto. Im not really sure what to make of this, would he be only coming here for the money ? I think there are better players out there that we could target and I think we should get rid of a few strikers first before bringing in new ones.
oldbluefox Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Saw him a few times last year. He was a real impact player for Blackpool and he still showed strength and determination. He was still a handful for visiting defenders and scored a few vital goals. He didn't play full matches but that could be quite useful for us in blooding youngsters either to play a part match bringing Dickov on for the final half hour or bringing them off the bench. He would certainly cause a few headaches in Div 1 and create space for others to exploit. As said previously he could be another Speedie type signing. I wouldn't object to seeing him back if he put in the type of performances he put in for Blackpool. I can understand why they are keen to sign him.
The Stig Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Footballers=Arseholes! FACTGet over it!! There is no loyalty in football, getting emotional over the fact that he left us once is totally pointless. I dislike people like Stearman more than Dicko, supposed life long City fan, badge kissing, tears after relegation etc.. He soon jumped ship and will be kissing the Wolves badge before long!! Dickov is a quality striker, would def score goals in this league and possibly get us out of it, he's ten times better than DJ and Fryatt ever were, are or will be! Get him in. Can't argue with that. I for one would never have given him abuse and would welcome him back to the club for a year with open arms.
Manwell Pablo Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Wouldn't be a bad option, seems clear to me he's got at least another year left in him. Only problem is he's a nob.
Tilley Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Wouldn't be a bad option, seems clear to me he's got at least another year left in him. Only problem is he's a nob. I think Dickov would be an ok signing tbh. One year deal.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Wouldn't be a bad option, seems clear to me he's got at least another year left in him. Only problem is he's a nob. Well he IS a professional footballer, isn't he?
Corky Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Will he really come back here, after what happened at Blackpool? As Warnock will testify, us fans hold grudges.
The Stig Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Only problem is he's a nob. If he scored a lot of goals I couldn't care less.
Hackneyisblue Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Will he really come back here, after what happened at Blackpool? As Warnock will testify, us fans hold grudges. As he has come for talks I would imagine that as far as he's concerned 'money talks'. His wife hates Leicester with a passion apparently but if we offer him 50% morethan Blackpool & Toronto then he'll probably sign. Surely he wouldn't waste his time with an interview if he had no intention of signing? And yes I know your name isn't Shirley

Ashley Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 It'd be good to have him back here would certainly do a job for us.
Manwell Pablo Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Will he really come back here, after what happened at Blackpool? As Warnock will testify, us fans hold grudges. bit different, Dickov is just an idiot and cheat. Warnock is poison. I'd give him a years deal, anything to improve our chances of getting out of League One first time of asking.
Ashley Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 IF we do sign him, I hope he dosent get injured. Didnt he get injured last season and he was out for a lengthly period of time?
MPH Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Listening to Radio Leicester at eight in the morning, perhaps? radio leicester? at 8 in the morning? maybe its just me... If he scored a lot of goals I couldn't care less. valid point.
Tabou Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Wouldn't be a bad option, seems clear to me he's got at least another year left in him. Only problem is he's a nob. Is he on facebook?
Vardinhio Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 hmm is this a wind up? I hope not but something smells dubious
DanTheFox07 Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Would be a good signing in my opinion, but i think we should look to offload barry hayles if we get him?
Hackneyisblue Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Would be a good signing in my opinion, but i think we should look to offload barry hayles if we get him? I think we should be off-loading Barry Hayles even if we only get Petra the Blue Peter dog and she's been dead for twenty odd years.
MikeyT Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 [/b]Is he on facebook? Why? I dont understand this fascination with everyone adding the footballers on there. Its not like the majority of people know them. People just want them on the friends list to try and look "cool". Unless you actually know the person why add them? On a seperate note. Yes id love to see Dickov back here!
Hackneyisblue Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 hmm is this a wind up?I hope not but something smells dubious Does nobody on this board have a half full glass? Why on earth would it be a wind-up?

Thankyou, I thought it was just me. Faceboook and whether or not they are on it is about as relevant as how they play on Manager and yet that can sustain a thread for days. Must be my age
