Goal Music - worse than ever.

I have posted the poll, but with just over 200 responses, and an average attendance of over 20,000, it isn't a representative sample. It's not even a representative sample of the membership of this forum! Given the apathy the majority of our fans show, I wouldn't expect a petition to be any more successful.

I will be putting forward my views at the Consultative Committee meeting.

I E Mailed it to him as well for what it's worth. Somehow I don't think it will change anytime soon. Your average supporter probably doesn't have too much of a problem with it.

I thought you liked chelsea dagger Nussul?

Why have you just created the 'Get Rid of Goal Music in Football' group on Facebook when you say you like it? lol

Well the club seem to have come up with a compromise on this.

Telling the players not to score at home  - a bit drastic though

As much as I hate the goal music, the current results of the poll demonstrate the silent majority in full effect. 90% of thread responses might be critical of the goal music but little over 60% have actually voted to scrap it so far (for me, this isn't about Chelsea Dagger, it's about having a song at all)

Of course it suits the club, and that's fine. They've got no real reason to change things and it's the same with standing/moving the Kop/red away kits etc. It'll always be the families they listen to most because they spend the most money and are more likely to **** off elsewhere if their "matchday experience" becomes dull when they get deprived of listening to the Fratellis if we score a goal.

Personally I'll always try to see the positives from supporting our club and the sheer ecstasy of the goal celebrations at Fulham and Orient this season has far outweighed any issues I have with enjoyment of home games which I don't think will ever resemble what I'd like.

Perfectly summed up in this Guardian article:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2008/...4/premierleague

So true, couldn't have put it better myself. It really is a horrific feeling having to cringe during the ecstasy of goal celebration as you look around you and see twenty thousand people dancing in time like performing muppets to some generic mechanical bollocks. But you have to join in, otherwise you'll look like you don't care about the most exciting part of the game. Sad times.

If they'd have played it after each penalty scored last night I would have walked out.

I'd have joined you. One of the guys I was sitting with tried to start it after Frankie missed his penalty but I swiftly clipped him round the ear.

I was actually dreading this to. It's not often 3 goals get scored by us at home and Chelsea Dagshit doesn't get played.

It's all about away games.

I just wish there were more London teams in our division, we always seem to have a good day out there.

Nothing beats a London away day. They're always by far the most enjoyable, and the ones everybody seems to look forward to the most / be well up for. Particularly with Crystal Palarse.

not hearing it when those penalties went in / got saved was brilliant.

Just spoke with my Kovscum fan mate who is a s/t holder at the reekoh and he said that they play Chelsea Dagger too  Needless to say he hates it too

I hate chelsea Dagger when we score. I dont want to bounce up and down in time to everyone else and make a concerted effort to clap out of time with the music

Also the cheesy dance version of the PHG is crap, for the same reason. I dont want to clap in time to it when the players come out... and it goes on for far too long!

And the Fair play line ups before the game are bloody awful (I understand the principal of having it). I want to be able to appluad the players as they RUN out onto the pitch and give us fans a little clap back.... you cant even do that anymore!

Sorry that was a bit ranty for a first post!!

I don't mind that to be honest. I'd rather have the original though. Maybe the original to run out to and the new one for the second half?

Totally agree, it's not rousing, it's not stirring, it's nothing. To transfer the thrust of that away fans questionnaire thread to this one, what must visiting supporters think of our club when they run out to that joke? Give us the old PHG back!

I don't fully reject the principal of playing music after a goal...but i do admit chelsea dagger is a bit of a joke

My mate's a wolves fan and i always think that dario g's ring of fire sounds pretty quality - but it'd have to be tastefully done, and not until the immediate celebrations have finished.

also used to like it when they played pigbag after fryatt scored. wtf happened to that?

What on arth would be the point of music played after the immediate celebrations, after the goal is pointless enough.
