whitlock Posted 16 August 2008 Author Posted 16 August 2008 oooh I can feel the tension and excitement Atleast im not the only one excited
bigneville Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Hartlepool Away. But i thought we were in the southern section.
Stevosevic Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Tough game. I would like to be out of this competition early to be honest, concentrate on the league.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 I thought we were suppossed to get a southern team before
He's not bald Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Tough game.I would like to be out of this competition early to be honest, concentrate on the league. Yep,meaningless load a tosh, I'd be more embarrassed winning it than going out early doors tbh
Bryn Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Another good opportunity to keep the second string fit.
purpleronnie Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Hopefully jeff 'I shout random words' stelling won't be doing his James brown dance.
Guest Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Another good opportunity to keep the second string fit. That's what I think NP will probably do too. *Note for DJ - If you get a chance to play, bang a few goals in will you for ****s sake!
Lillehamring Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Another good opportunity to keep the second string fit. spot on, i think we should look at this as this seasons reserve program... if we put out the first team you risk injuries, tire them out for a long season ahead, and become a genuine scalp.... put in a reserve-ish squad (which let's face it probably wouldn't be that bad) and you have nothing to lose, less pressure, and hopefully a better chance of proceeding... would be nice to win it just to say we have a 100% record in it...
filbertway Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Surely people mocking the JPT are no better than the yanited fans etc saying the League cup is a micky mouse cup. Fo' Shame
JadeFalcon Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 valerenga couldnt have said it much better tbh
Lillehamring Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 valerenga couldnt have said it much better tbh thanks, you should hear what i have to say about oasis
fox123 Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 I wouldn't mind us giving this a bit of a go, purely for a trip out to Wembley at the end of the season. There's not a better feeling than walking upto the stadium to watch your club play no matter what the competition is!
Stuliasz Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 spot on, i think we should look at this as this seasons reserve program... if we put out the first team you risk injuries, tire them out for a long season ahead, and become a genuine scalp.... put in a reserve-ish squad (which let's face it probably wouldn't be that bad) and you have nothing to lose, less pressure, and hopefully a better chance of proceeding...would be nice to win it just to say we have a 100% record in it... I thought they implemented a rule for the JPT that you had to play a minimum of 6 or 7 first team players i.e. players who played in the previous league game.
Benji Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 I thought they implemented a rule for the JPT that you had to play a minimum of 6 or 7 first team players i.e. players who played in the previous league game. yup, teams are having to take it seriously, or that at least has to be reflected in their team sheet. And i agree with Filbertway, don't be too quick to rubbish this, winning mentality goes a long way to winning a league, I expect at least a place in the final of this.
Matt Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 I can't believe people don't care about it, If it was a case of it jeopodising the league campaign then fair enough but we should be looking to win every game, and this is a way of taking us to wembley, some silverware, confidence, and seriously what other cup competition do we stand a chance in? That's not saying we will walk this cup like we won't walk the league, but I doubt we have a chance in F.A Cup and in reality I doubt we have a chance in the Carling Cup. Who are we to snub any cup, win, winning mentality, silverware? Shame on you people.
Corky Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 It's disappointing some on here aren't treating this seriously. As a supporter, you should want to win every competitive match. Winning is a good thing, no matter what competition it is in.
NorthernFox Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 This game will be midweek and even tho I live in the North East I cant get a return train back to Newcastle after 21:15.
