J.Lisemore Posted 10 January 2009 Posted 10 January 2009 Even if it was Telford...I still couldn't believe it.
shen Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 He chose Bologna over me, but it looks like I'm getting Torje instead! Everton just bid 3 mil for Tunchev as well, and I'm feeling very very tempted...! Got Baloy lined up as well as N'Koulou *drool* I chose to save the money and not get Torje, since Etuhu was doing well there. And I've got a young Finnish regen who's also capable in backup. I did sell Tunchev for 2,7mil though (might live to regret that), and brought in Nano and Baloy (N'Koulou chose Lille ahead of me) as replacements Quite happy with my dealings overall: Transfer History Particularly happy with the captures of Codrea, Joseph, Ribeiro and Aouate *edit: couldn't post the image, due to a "dynamic error" when posting?

Finnegan Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 I got Auoate in Jan in the Championship. Secured my season for me - I've got the Uraguayan national goalkeeper whose name I can't quite remember from Inter reserves, now. Cost me 800k and the fans LOVE him. Mulsera or something? Morgan Schneiderlin's my third best buy, I think. Future club captain - I'll slap his stats up in a second. I've only had him for about a season and he's come on awesomely. My squad didn't like his appointment as Captain, though, so I may give him a season or so off next year and wait til he's ~26. Got him for £1m. Probably could have got him for less, Southampton's chairman said they couldn't refuse it and went behind the manager.

Ironic - I had the Inter reserve goalie (Fabian Carini) during the League One season and sold him (with a healthy profit!) to eventually get Aouate as a replacement (Muslera is the Lazio reserve btw) Was looking at Schneiderlin as well, but West Ham just bought him this same window for £2mil. So for you to get him for half that is good business
Ashley Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 How good is Falco on this game? Is he worth buying?
shen Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 How good is Falco on this game? Is he worth buying? You mean Falcao? If so, it depends what level you're aiming at. He's potentially a very good player for any high mid-table Premier team, but he's not an elite striker a la Zlatan, Torres etc.
shen Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 I just disciplined a player of mine by fining him 2 weeks' wages (his second straight red after just 5 matches!), and he said the customary "indicate a willingness to control his temperament in the future". I had a look at his profile, and his Aggression stat has gone down! Never seen/noticed that before. Just so you know, it actually has an effect

JoeyB Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Started a Man City game last night brought in: Glen Johnson Joe Mattock Taye Tawio Veluso Mouthino Arshavin Pandev Keirrison Palacio think their might be one or 2 i missed. will post it all up later.
Finnegan Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 A couple of things: RE Falcao: Staggering. Disagree that he isn't top-end, he's not the best value for money on the game given he's going to cost you ~£12 - 20m but he's been a revelation for me. They're currently on annoyingly bad form (which is probably down to bad handling and poor service on my part really) but Lewandowski and Falcao are pretty much the best strike partnership in the Prem on my game currently. RE Muslera: Quite right, sorry, it was Lazio. Either way a pretty good signing so far. RE Schneiderlin: Despite being dubbed 'the next Platini' and having the stats for a pretty awesome playmaker, I've got three seriously good attacking midfielders at the moment and so he's been training and playing as a DM since his arrival and is really coming along nicely. Even got his first cap for France. Just played the most frustrating game I've ever seen on FM, though. Lost pretty much every, single, fooking tackle in the contact and must have completed about 30% of passes. Was screaming at the screen. Oddly though, everyone had ratings between 6.9 and 7.6 - still, no one (for once) complained to the media when I unleashed my rage after the game.

THAT I didn't know! I only thought they would show up as "preferred moves" when looking at a players position. Intriguing!
Samilktray Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Lewandowski and Ebanks-Blake have hauled my Wolves side up the table since I took over them. Started unemployed and they offered me the job, 2nd bottom they were.

Wouldn't mind having him in my squad no matter which team I had, (and knowing me he probably would be. I can count the number of times I've ever had an 'elite' FM striker a la RVN, Torres, Eto'o, Henry etc. on one hand) but he's no Zlatan. What effect does it have getting furious through the media?
shen Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Lewandowski and Ebanks-Blake have hauled my Wolves side up the table since I took over them.Started unemployed and they offered me the job, 2nd bottom they were. How good was your reputation?
Finnegan Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 What effect does it have getting furious through the media? Oh no it wasn't through the media. I whipped out the "Angry" option in the post match team-talk. But usually when you do one of your players tells the press and you get a little message about it. This time they took their pill and liked it. Must have worked, btw, just shagged Hibs 4 - 1 in the UEFA Cup.
Finnegan Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Whoever made this game is a fucking Arsenal fan. Fucks sakes. I'm off to manage in Europe.

Mikey Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Hmm don't know who to start a new one with.... Looking at either Luton, Unemployed or Man City.

Finnegan Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Yeah sure, I've beaten them before too - but they're by far and away the most over-the-top, not-that-good-in-real-life super team on the game. They keep walking the Prem and every subsitute they make comes on and bags goals. Frustrating.
Tevez Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 All my badges have gone, pictures of players, the lot. All gone, game looks shite now.
Ricey Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 I think this deal might have something to do with it too A deal which came about AFTER FM09 was finished.
