lavrentis Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 Greece were immense beating the mighty Luxembourg 3-0.
Jonezy Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 Denmark's decline hasn't stopped yet. We were hopeless against Hungary (without Fulop, but apparently their number one is one of the best keepers in the Dutch league) and got a slightly lucky 0-0 even though Bendtner hit the post on our only decent attack. Portugal is going to run havoc in our group. With a bit of luck Sweden will be as crap as we are, and we still have a chance to sneak 2nd place.
MC Prussian Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 I didn't watch the Switzerland game against Israel, but from what I've read, we've squandered a 2-0 lead and let them draw in the 91st minute. At least we've gotten one point out of it. Israel ain't easy to play, I have to say.
Brainy Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 The Azerbaijan keeper made some quality saves.
Daggers Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 Aye, I've calmed down a bit now You could always go watch a repeat of the Scotland match...now that would raise everyone's spirits!
purpleronnie Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 I still have a bad feeling about england in that group I think we'll struggle to get 2nd, but maybe thats because I had a dream that the Croatia won the group and Ukraine came 2nd. The fact that both Croatia and Ukraine won isnt making me feel any better.
MC Prussian Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 Italy's second goal Link Around 1.21 The build-up was sensational... Camoranesi with the lob over to Di Natale...
dandannieldanok Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 Italy's second goal Link Around 1.21 Forking hell, where was that quality from Italy in Euro 2008. The Cyprus goal is quite funny, the number 14 for Italy

We badly need some new talent coming through the ranks. But apart from Bendtner I've not spotted anyone with the necessary talent to take us forward. We badly need some good wingers and fullbacks, and we're very nervous in defense when Sørensen is out. We've got little or no creativity in midfield and Tomasson is obviously past his best. Ah well... at least things are on the up at Leicester!
dandannieldanok Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 With a bit of luck Sweden will be as crap as we are, and we still have a chance to sneak 2nd place. You appear in luck after last night, Sweden's 0-0 draw away at Albania is a lot worse than Denmark's 0-0 in Hungary.
Corky Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 It seems the fans have had enough of Wales' national team as well. 17,106 turned up yesterday.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 9 September 2008 Posted 9 September 2008 Australia play Uzbekistan tonight in Taskent in our first game of the final part of world cup quallifying 5 teams top 2 automatically quallify and im quite nervous tbh. But if the last stage was anything to go buy when we had china, Iraq and Qatar we went thru easily so fingers crossed hey
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 We badly need some new talent coming through the ranks. Apart from Bendtner Thats a sorry state of affairs.
Darkzzz_ Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 I won't be watching the game tonight, As I have said many times, I have lost interest in the average England side for years now. I hope one day the team can win major honours and really actually do something for once. Instead of being nearly men. I am not expecting to much from them tonight, I am sure Croatia will be on top of there game, It would be nice to check the score later and see England hammering them, but I won't hold my breath. Good luck to them tonight, I think we will need it.

My mate at work is Danish and at the moment I know that however crap we are Denmark generally will've done worst.
shen Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 Sorry? Apart from Bendtner Thats a sorry state of affairs. That's a bit harsh. The lad's still only 20 and plays regular football for a top English team. I personally see a lot of potential in him, and he's a shining light in our national team. But we don't produce a lot of talent of international level. A Michael Laudrup, Peter Schmeichel or Allan Simonsen only comes around once in a very long while. But the Denmark has usually still had sufficient talent to build a 'decent' team. I wonder if you rate Tomasson? The opinion of him varies a lot up here, but it doesn't change the fact he's the second-most scoring player ever in the Danish team (with 51 goals in 99 appearances). And he's done that in a largely star-stricken team.

Alexikokopops Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 At least we have an excuse for being crap Yeah that's true. He does like to remind me that you're not to shabby for a country with a twelveth of the population of us.
shen Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 Yeah that's true. He does like to remind me that you're not to shabby for a country with a twelveth of the population of us. He's right, but we think we should be competing against the best, and past successes have raised expectations. Now we see that we really aren't as good as we think we are
Tevez Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 Scotland were woeful! If Macedonia don't reach the World Cup I don't know what I'll do. They are a decent side and very hard to play away.

Milky Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 If Macedonia don't reach the World Cup I don't know what I'll do. They are a decent side and very hard to play away. I watched the game and they were woeful! Didn't even test the keeper once. Woeful!
Mikey Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 Russia 1-0 Wales, 23 minutes gone. 2 penalties in the space of 6 minutes. Bale missed for Wales, then Pavyluchenko scored for Russia.
