Sly Posted 12 October 2009 Posted 12 October 2009 We won our 4th game out of 4 last night, winning 18-0. We played a Prem side afterwards as they didn't have a team and beat them 3-2. The gulf in class between the leagues is enormous!!!!

The gulf in class between the leagues is enormous!!!! 18-0 Was it Kings Arms (green team) you played last night from the Prem? If so, they got promoted last year with us from the lower league. And we're finding out about the gulf in class now, pointless after 4 games. Although last night was ridiculous, somehow lost 3-2 after bossing it. We hit the post 2 or 3 times, had numerous shots saved and still ended up losing. Destined for relegation.

Yes, we played Kings Arms, we had about 80% of the ball and just passed it around for donkeys!! Who did you play last night?

Only other team that was pointless before last night. <_<
Manwell Pablo Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 I heard Peasely (Magners GK) had to make a few saves to keep them in the game! Yeah he did, they were really bad by their standards, have been struggling outdoor in general apparently, they keep playing like that we might even finish 3rd in front of them. Played them again Sunday night though and they made us look stupid which was a bit more like it. Donisthorpe Engines 5 a side team tonight.
Samilktray Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 Back in business! The San Marinos Dons are soon to be in the Goals Sunday league.
Sly Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 We played Grampus 8. Only other team that was pointless before last night. <_< Looking at this you boys have some work to do: LINK!
Manwell Pablo Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Looking at this you boys have some work to do:LINK! 2 points for a win whats with that shite?
Sly Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 2 points for a win whats with that shite? Ha Ha .... I think it's the national 5/6 a side rules!! You want to see the size of the friggin pitch!! It's alright for our lads at they are all fit but some of the teams that are used to the smaller pitch and used to bully teams with a physical games are struggling. They are on about Leisure Leagues taking over Measham and the Hood Park Wednesday as well.
lildave3 Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Looking at this you boys have some work to do:LINK! Yeah I know! That's one thing I do prefer about Leisure Leagues doing it, you can see alot more information.

Ozwin Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 Where do you all play? Apparently we're moving up in the world and playing at Goals in a few weeks/months.
Sly Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 Were you playing the Orange team? Yes. Tropic Thunder play in Orange. We play in proper Cádiz CF lime green shirts. Can't remember what colour Kings Arms were in the 2nd game, I think they might have been Green.
Sly Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 Yeah I know! That's one thing I do prefer about Leisure Leagues doing it, you can see alot more information. Apparently this is only a one season trial run but I actually like the format and prefer it to the old style as well. Although I now a lot of people are unhappy about the guest player rules, which I agree are a bit pants!! .... also some people are unhappy with the 6 a side, pitch sizes, 2 points etc etc etc. Can't please everyone!!
General Smuts Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 They must have been awful? True, but Smuts is shit. Haha, im in the worst shape of my life - round - so im not gonna argue there! They were shit, locals to Hatfield ie the equivalent of locals to Braunstone or New Parks. Council estate types who'd rather kick you than play football. One of the players down there actually boxes for Frank Warren. He's an actual monster. Back to the Student league again now all of my lot are back from Placements etc. Had 2 games against new teams to see how good everyone is and to put them in leagues based on the standard. Battered one team 5-0 which showed up our fitness issues a treat. Out of 5 or 6 chances i finally bagged one on the second attempt with my chocolate leg. And on Weds we played in an end to end thriller type match that we seemed to have the better of until right at the end when again our fitness showed us up and we ended the game 5-5. Managed to bag a brace again but only after another 5 or 6 chances. Enjoying it again though.
Bert Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 Yeah I know! That's one thing I do prefer about Leisure Leagues doing it, you can see alot more information. Yeah, LL are quality. This is the League that my team plays in, and we're doing well again this season, hoping to retain our title again. Making my return this weekend

CosbehFox Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 Goals = waste of time who couldn't do a piss-up in a brewery. At least we're 2nd cos of their fook-ups.
Mikey Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 Yes. Tropic Thunder play in Orange. We play in proper Cádiz CF lime green shirts. Can't remember what colour Kings Arms were in the 2nd game, I think they might have been Green. Most of them go/went my school. Their really really bad.
General Smuts Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 My team are being called 'Fred West Ham' this year. My choice was Molester City but no one wanted that, can;t see why not ...
lildave3 Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 My team are being called 'Fred West Ham' this year. My choice was Molester City but no one wanted that, can;t see why not ... I wish we could think of a good name, ours is shit!
Sly Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 We won 2-1 last night, taking us to 5 out of 5 wins!
lildave3 Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 We won 2-1 last night, taking us to 5 out of 5 wins! We lost again last night, taking us to 5 out of 5 losses! Last night wasn't even fun, we had players missing so I didn't even know most of our team. Was a bit crap.
Bert Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 We won 4-0 yesterday, were 3 up in 5 minutes, so we cooled it a bit. Made my return too
