Ric Flair Posted 20 October 2008 Posted 20 October 2008 Last two games MOM. http://www.robinsnestforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=22965They love him down there, making it a permanent signing doesn't wash well with me though. Brilliant to hear. Still probably my favourite Leicester player when on form and I hope to dear god that he's in Pearson's plans because a fully fit Wesolowski is Championship class, hopefully higher if he fulfills his potential. At 21, he can do that, it's all about a run of games, which he appears to be getting at Cheltenham.

I'm not surprised after watching the team they started the season with. Of course he's a bonus to them and it's no surprise he's collecting MoM awards because I'd imagine he's just about the best player they've got. He was doing neither himself nor our club any good sitting on the bench and considering the results since he went on loan I cannot imagine anything would have changed. Weso's a decent player but whether he'll be a first choice player where we want to be heading is another matter. Already people are saying we need more goal threat from places other than striker and left-wing but Weso won't help much in that department. And just because someone is solid and reliable doesn't necessarily mean he's best suited to our needs. Even with MoM awards Cheltenham's points tally since he's been would only reflect mid-table. It's an improvement on what they had but it wouldn't be enough for us. Let's see what three months rather than three games brings.
lildave3 Posted 20 October 2008 Posted 20 October 2008 That is brilliant news tbh, you've got to love a bit of Weso. Weso and King in a Championship centre midfield in a couple of years hopefully

A little bugger who gets stuck in and mixes it up. I hope Pearson feels he's got a future with us.

I see Weso as a defensive midfielder and I'm not sure we really need that in this division.
Vo Rogue Posted 20 October 2008 Posted 20 October 2008 Cheltenham fans only issue is both cenral mids are attacking too much hence providing a bundle of goals and leaving defence thin. Someones got it wrong.

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 20 October 2008 Posted 20 October 2008 Seems as though James is 'loving it there' too MAN OF the match JAMES WESOLOWSKI: "Being named man of the match means nothing when you don't get any points. "After the way we played, a point was the least we deserved and maybe we should have had all three. The good thing is that there are positives to take away from the game. "You wouldn't know S****horpe are top of the league and we are where we are at the moment, but it's given us a lot of confidence and it shows us we can be where they are, which is top of the table. "I love tackling and it's the main part of my game, along with making simple passes and bursting forward. "I think I suit that side of football and if it helps the team, which it is at the moment, then great and I am looking forward to every game. "Josh Payne did brilliantly, and watching him bursting out of midfield you wouldn't know he is 17. He is very mature, which is good in a young lad, and that will help him in the future. "We did well together and stopped their two central midfielders and did a good job against them. We knew that the midfield pairing of McCann and Togwell was one of their strengths and we did all right. "We will be a team you don't want to play against. From the moment I came here, you wouldn't have known this team were near the bottom and you can see the spirit among the lads. "It's one of the best things I have been a part of because the gaffer has something good going here and everyone is together trying to push up the table. The fans appreciate the way we played and we were grateful to them for the ovation we got at the end." Oh and the Cheltenham fans love Mad Dog Allen AND DARREN KENTON - oh my!

Weso sounds revitalised and is undoubtedly playing for a manager who appreciates his style of play. His problem at Leicester this season was that he new that one of the midfield berths, that of the skipper, was virtually assured and that must have been disheartening.
wirralsimon Posted 21 October 2008 Posted 21 October 2008 Off injured. I was at the Tranmere/Cheltenham game tonight. He was felled by a lunge from Tranmere's Ryan Shotton who was deservedly booked for a bad challenge but he got up again and was standing around while the booking was made etc. then he suddenly dropped to the ground like he had been shot and started writhing about in agony about 4 feet from the edge of the pitch. He was moved just over the touchline but didn't get up and looked to be in a lot of pain. Eventually he made it up and walked to the bench, which was only about 20 feet away as it all took place right infront of the dugouts. After about 10mins he hobbled down the tunnel to seek treatment. Hopefully it's not too serious. Up until then he has looked lively at points without making much of an impression but it wasn't a good Cheltenham performance so it would have been hard to shine. Simon

Simon The lad will never ever live up to his potential because of those injuries. He'll be another "what might've been" player, I'm sorry to say
wirralsimon Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 You were there you say?How did Lathaniel get on ? I don't think he was playing. If he was he made no impression at all! Kenton was playing last night and was trying hard without having much effect. Simon EDIT: Just checked and he was playing! Kind of tells it's own story really.....
Jimmy Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 "James Wesolowski will have a scan in the morning. He's walking, which is great news considering the tackle that he took and we'll assess it tomorrow." from Cheltenham's website
