Jimmy Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 Cheltenham Town manager Martin Allen has been dealt a 'devastating' blow after it was confirmed that midfielder James Wesolowski has fractured a bone in his ankle.The on-loan Leicester man limped off after 68 minutes of the Robins’ 2-0 defeat at Tranmere yesterday after suffering the injury in a horror challenge by Rovers defender Ryan Shotton. The former Australia Under 21 international is expected to be sidelined for around four months, meaning his Whaddon Road future has been cast into doubt. The Sydneysider has become a favourite with the Robins faithful in his short spell with the club after a string of battling performances in the heart of midfield. One of eight players currently on loan at Whaddon Road, Wesolowski joined Cheltenham on an initial one-month loan deal at the beginning of October. Click here! Jack Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 I rate him as a player, he seems to be quite injury prone with the amount of breaks he has had so far in a short space of time. If this carries on it looks like his playing career wont last as long as he would hope. Shame if this was to happen. Hope not, get well soon Jimbo.

But if it was malicious and as bad as suggested, he might be justified in sueing the tackler. If there was intent or recklessness I'd have no sympathy with his tackler at all. Whatever, it is another devastating blow to Weso. It's as if the Gods are against him because as soon as he gets into any sort of run, something else happens. It will be a real test of his mental strength to stay positive but I just hope that when he does get fit again, his luck changes for the better and he can finally reach his full potential.
aussie-fox Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 i think its time weso took a look at returning to australia and started from scratch in the a-league. main reason is that the league is not as physical as the lower english leagues and with a lot less games. he would also still be able to pick up a decent wage for himself and alot of domestic players are making the aussie national team so would put himself into the managers thoughts more. im pretty sure his Leicester career is over so maybe time to come home jimbo and start again. look at a player called Ruben Zadcovich, was a squad player at Notts County for 2 years, returened home to sydney, established himself in the first 11, got a few caps for Australia and now is playing for Derby. all in the space of 2 years. so returning back to Aus does not mean the end of your career.
