OriginalRobboFOX Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 On the basis of what I've seen so far I wouldn't have given him a new series. Is this ironic?? Based on Tony Hares?? Of so well done my man. If not, back off, Partridge is legendary!!
Captain... Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 It started slowly but had some classic lines in it, such as comparing the black death to flying aids, and after visiting a local market saying. "but being a fan of my statutory rights I shop at a local supermarket." Something about teddies made from used tampons also got me giggling.
21st Century Fox Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 The I, Partridge: We Need To Talk About Alan audiobook, might be the funniest thing I've ever heard. You definitely need to be a fan and to have seen the series to appreciate how he re-writes history to make himself sound good.
skinnydipper Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Is this ironic?? Based on Tony Hares?? Of so well done my man. If not, back off, Partridge is legendary!! A bit of both really. Yes, expressed in the style of Tony Hares but I was a bit disappointed with last nights offering. I loved the studio and motel based shows and so had high expectations but for me, last nights show didn't really work.

General Smuts Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Loved it. Flying Aids was amazing. Genuinely laugh out loud funny.
steveherbe Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Must be me, just dont get him at all. He's on the same level as Beckford for me, overrated and fookin useless! - There, back on track.

Bellend Sebastian Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 I'm still intrigued how this ended up on Sky after all the hoo-ha there was between Coogan and News International. A lot of folk have said that he's a massive hypocrite but he seems a reasonably principled bloke so I find it hard to believe that it was just down to cash

breadandcheese Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 I'd like to know as all the Murdochphiles I know are 'loving' the fact that he's ended up on Sky and I'd really like something to shut them up with If you read the autobiography, you'll see that Alan doesn't like the BBC after they shafted him on a legally binding contract for a second series. Sky is much more progressive and at the forefront of broadcasting media. The fit between Alan Partridge and Sky is better than a good pair of driving gloves. It's just a shame that Lynn didn't make an appearance, nor Michael.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Would love some help. Never seen Alan Partridge apart from a few youtube clips and an episode of Mid Morning Matters which i found funny. I want to see some more Alan Partridge where should i start what are the reccomendations.

I want to see some more Alan Partridge where should i start what are the reccomendations. I think either series of "I'm Alan Partridge" would be a good place to start. He's also the sports reporter on "The Day Today", which is excellent.
21st Century Fox Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 Loved it. Flying Aids was amazing. Genuinely laugh out loud funny. Flying AIDS is a new classic. I also found the editing of the interview in the swimming pool brilliant.

Well if you want to watch it chronologically watch "Knowing me, knowing you" first, then move onto "I'm Alan Partridge" season 1.

Google torrrent search He is well worth the time...simply hilarious I would be less bothered with the "The day Today" stuff as it (to me) was quite, time and location relevant, he is still funny in it though

Captain... Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 Well if you want to watch it chronologically watch "Knowing me, knowing you" first, then move onto "I'm Alan Partridge" season 1. His first starring role was "Knowing me knowing you" on the radio, which is still brilliant, before that he had appeared on a few other things such as "On the hour" most of these were with Chris Morris and Armando Iannuci. His first TV appearances were on the Day to Day, which I disagree with ozleicester, is now more relevant than ever, although the ridiculous graphics may not be quite so ridiculous any more as they are now de rigueur in today's.news programs. Then you get Knowing me knowing you the TV show which is brilliant, followed by I'm Alan Partridge, Morning Matters and now the recent stuff. The first radio show on youtube (part 1 of 2): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mGrY0zv59Q
Bellend Sebastian Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 According to the Guardian a whopping 216,000 watched Partridge's Sky debut on Monday. I should think more have watched it on Ewetube
Rincewind Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 Wan't he in a series called something like the British Empire? Can't remember much about it though. Sorry got him mixed up with Chris Barrie
rico Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 Flying AIDS is a new classic. I also found the editing of the interview in the swimming pool brilliant. That was funny as was the market trading scene
