SamL Posted 7 December 2008 Author Share Posted 7 December 2008 Row N, but block 2 which is abit crap, i wonder if we will get the whole stand (if we sell out, which i doubt) Nope, I believe we'll be given the terrace behind the goal if we sell out. Corky Posted 7 December 2008 Share Posted 7 December 2008 Easier said than done. I suppose common sense doesn't come into it. I feel for those catching the train, they probably booked well in advance and now have to make alternate arrangements.

Dan LCFC Posted 7 December 2008 Share Posted 7 December 2008 Im lucky im only 15, so I get driven up there Don't even know if i'm going though, and it sickens me that they don't do fan special trains again cos I went on a few as a youngster and they were great. £51 is absolutely diabolical just to go to a shed like Carlisle tbh, im dreading when I start having to pay for these games
Cumbrian Posted 7 December 2008 Share Posted 7 December 2008 How do, CUFC fan here, couple of bits and bobs for yous all! Getting Here - Bus/Car - Up the M6, turn off at Jctn 43, Brunton Park is about 1mile down on the right (You can see it when you turn off, theres 3 floodlights!). Train - Brunton Park is about 15mins from Carlisle Station, tight but doable. However I do know they want to keep you back (God knows why). This will be the local OB decision, as I've read on here you probs already guessed this. Easy enough to get to the ground, come out station, you see a crescent-shaped road called 'The Crescent'. Walk round it, and when you reach a pub called 'Bar Suede' (Currently Closed), turn right. This is Warwick Road. Keep straight on down and you reach the ground on your left. Pubs - By Ground/From M6 - Between Jctn43 and Brunton Park is a Toby Carvery and Lakeland Gate, both serve beer, but are more eating orientated. Just past the ground is The Beehive. Cracking Pub, that usually lets Away Supporters in, but for 'Big' games, tends to be 'Home Fans Only'. Will probs be Home only on OB advice. Over the road, slightly further up is Carlisle Rugby Club, this has a decent bar that allows all fans in, and often gets busy. The ground itself also sells alcohol under the stand. In town/Train Station - Expect to be met by OB, probs going OTT and handing out searches etc! The main drag for Carlisle pubs is just as you turn right out of the Station Square. The Griffin on the corner is sometimes made into an 'Away Fans' pub if a big following comes by train, but this has only really been done for Leeds. Botchergate is the name of this road with the pubs on, and most are popualted by Home fans before games. Theres all the usual Walkabout, 2 Wetherspoons, and 2 or 3 other pubs. There'll no doubt be a OB presence on here. Local OB - As already mentioned, clueless! They're just not used to it up here. Leeds last season woke them up, and they went into overdrive for this seasons Leeds game. Very visible for 'Big' games now, but still useless all the same. They won't bother you much tho, unless you 'act up' so to speak. Match Itself - You'll slaughter us, simple as. We play a negative 4-5-1 at the minute, which just doesn't work. I'd settle for a draw now! Enjoy the trip, and will pop on midweek if anyone has any questions! CumbriansFan

backinthebigtime Posted 8 December 2008 Share Posted 8 December 2008 Myself and my stepson got our tickets for Carlise today, its his first season of doing away days and after Luton, Orient, S****horpe and Hudderfield he tells me he cant wait. I bet he cant seeing as Ive decided to drive the pair of us there and he will sleep most of the 200 plus miles there and all of the way back!! I must admit im really looking forward to it, it brings back loads of memories of away days in the late 70,s and the 80,s plus its not everyday you get to go to Carlisle.....well unless you drive for Stobarts. Does anyone know if or where our coaches are likley to stop for a pot of tea and a teacake on the way up as it would be good to meet up with them and watch the Northern monkeys working there try to deal with the sudden arrival of the foxes on tour. Sods Posted 8 December 2008 Share Posted 8 December 2008 Possibility I suppose. I might try to ring them and ask, and then see if I can get it down after the Southend game. Everything's a bloody mission with these flags though, it's like taking a ****ing child to every game.Anyway, good idea mate. Will look into it. Good news. Dan, Your recent email to Carlisle United has been forwarded on to myself for reply. I have no objection for the flag being tied onto the terrace area provided it is securley tied down and will not become detached in a strong wind. Please make your self known to the stewards when you come into the stadium and they will arrange to escort you to the area where your flag can be tied. Best wishes, John Little Safety Officer Carlisle United AFC
