I never doubted you beating Scunny ever. I predicted a draw though. Did you get them 'top of the league' songs from Forest in 06 when they were 7 points clear at this stage? I think they passed them on to S****hrope in May :crylaugh:

Got nothing better to do than hang around our forum?

Jesus, get a life.

Stop banging on about the end of the bloody season for the love of God.

You really think some random Leeds fan is going to spoil the mood when we've just beaten the leaders away from home to go top?

Oh, by the way...

Cheerio.

Sorry love, but you're really starting to irritate with your pointless ramblings. You clearly love the grief else you'd go and say how good Leeds are (or aren't) on your forum. I think we're entitled to our own opinion on our own forum yes?

Oh yeah and you spelt S****horpe wrong

I think route one is a lot riskier in terms of retaining possession. Howard will win flick-ons but the chances of them landing with one of our players in a way that we can retain possession and build an attack is quite small. I think one of our two main attacking strengths is the ability of Oakley and King to pick a pass, and it detracts from that sometimes when Howard plays. The second is the ball over the top for Fryatt and Dyer. Add Campbell to that equation, as I say, if he can bloody stay onside and we do look more dangerous when he plays.

I agree though - you're right about mixing it up, it's great to have the options. Personally I just prefer the way we play when Howard isn't in the team - less desperate long balls and less free kicks (both for and against, before the game yesterday Howard was both the most-fouled player in the league and the biggest foul offender too) which we don't seem to make much of anyway - I'd prefer to keep the game flowing.

Either way, nice problem to have - and I'd only play Campbell if he improved on yesterday's performance anyway.

dont agree with you on mixing it up - I'm at a loss to explain the pro-Howard, pro-long football, pro winning free kicks brigade and radio Leicester apparently has been full of comments such as we have to get Howard straight back into the side and he'll be back for Tuesday - I am convinced having watched most games home and away this season that the slick, pacy attacking style is creating more chances than 'flick-ons' that rarely come off. I've said it before and will say it again, IF PEARSON PREFERS TO MIX THINGS UP, WE MUST GET A BETTER TARGET MAN THAN BIG STEVE. LETS SPEND A DECENT SUM OF MONEY ON RICKY LAMBERT

Nod I was posting on here yesterday.

How was I been outdone and why should I be concerned? Erm Didn't Leeds beat S****horpe on the first day of this season?? :crylaugh: Or are you trying to gloat cos you are a massive 3 points ahead of us with only 87 left to play for?

Yup Im as concerned as hell!!

Why don't you starting printing "real" league tables again? :crylaugh:

I think you've lost it pal. Give up now.

There is absolutely no way on this earth that S****horpe had two thirds of the possession, no way at all.

I must agree with Hullfox. I was at game and it sure as hell didn't look that way during the match. Whoever measured that stat clearly needs to get his logarthyms sorted.

I'd say 50/50 give or take a % here or there.

And we deserved to win, better attacking options, clearer chances and better support. All that and S****ropez is a shit hole.

No contest really.

This was a great result and City have come a long way. I remember seasons gone by when injuries would have meant losses whereas Pearson has the cover when it matters. There were some reservations when he went for Edworthy just look at how important he has been.

King has been a mighty plus this year - not the only one but he made the difference yesterday. I agree we can and have to get better and have the mentality that we are the best.

Bloody hell, they could employ a chimpanzee to write a more accurate match report than that.

At least the guys who say Henderson is shit will have some ammo now! :D

Can't wait to see a press box full of chimps though. :scarf:

It was a good win for us. I felt from the first half we were much the better side, totally outplayed them and could have gone into the break 2 or 3 up. The fact that we went in 1-1 seemed to encourage them, and they came out the better side. Having said that they never seemed to threaten us all that much to be honest. And, like some other people here, I do think we had more possession than was stated.

Somebody should ban this Leeds fool. Bugger off to your own forum, we don't care about your insignificant win over Scun thorpe on day one.

Back on thread, fantastic result. I would've loved to have gone but for a prior commitment. Well played to the team and management - I'm sure most of us didn't expect victory in the battle of the top 2 but to win was a great tonic. Let's just hope we carry this on to the next few games and build a winning streak.

Sorry, but I think it's good to have a few opposing fans on here every so often. I hope things get a bit more spicy as December 26th closes in. That game, I hope, is going to be a humdinger.

Typical fickle fan.

I imagine you slating Leicester when they lose and draw a game too.

Unfortunately we have Leeds fans like this too and I have never given the impression that we will definately go up.Those that wish that always have egg on their faces. Forest fans will have been the same 2 years ago when they were a whopping 7 points clear at the top at this stage.

I bet they thought it was all over at this stage.

From the Guardian:

Cheer was in short supply at what should have been a zinger of a match at Glanford Park, where Leicester City and S****horpe United battled for bragging rights at the top of League One. Leicester won 2-1, but their manager, Nigel Pearson, didn't sound too happy. "It was an important win for us but it is just a win and I don't want to talk it up any more than that." Pearson may well be justified in his caution: his team were booed off the pitch a few weeks ago, after all.His opposite number Nigel Adkins, meanwhile, was the target of ire on phone-ins after the game, with some fans calling for his head. Some of the hostility may be down to rumours linking him to the Huddersfield Town job, but it's still a bemusing state of affairs for a man who has led the Iron to one of the best periods in their history.

Lloyd Dyer has to be the coolest player I've ever seen in one-on-one situations. You just know he's going to slot it in.

Really. His legs are like jelly, ever since he missed at Stockportivo, I've never had confidence in the lad.

None of the fans near the away end sang at all. Couldn't hear the lot on the terrace.

Scunny fan on another forum says he was really disappointed by Scunny fan's showing on the terrace.

The first-half performance was as good as I've seen this season - including the Cheltenham game.

Agreed and I am lucky enough not to see us lose this season and only draw once. I see the benefit of having Berner and Campbell in the team, give us more balance but then again, I see the benefit of a rampaging Howard on his day.

Lovely stuff. Don't like Glanford Park though - 2 times I've been and each time I am stuck behind a pillar. Poxy, cold and soulless ground at the end of Earth.

What's your scoreline prediction then between Northampton v Leeds on tue?

I will guarantee 2 goals difference at least in favour to us otherwise I will take back everything I ever said and pubically apologise to you all for thinking Leeds were a better team. Ok!!

Dear Mr Hewittinspain

How did Leeds United (champions of Europe) get on at the Nou Camp, sorry, Sixfields stadium tonight?

We won, made a bit of a meal of beating Crewe to be honest, but lookee thee, we're top. How fortuous can we be. Hope you had a great night in Northampton?

Posted
Ok here's the deal.

I will prove to you that Leeds have now hit some great form over this crucial period.

We play Northampton away on Tuesday. If Leeds don't win by 'at least' 2 goals then I will fully admit that Leicester are better than Leeds and we are not good enough this season to go up. I know we are only talking Northampton but Oldham only beat them 1-0 last week. Beckford and Becchio have hit some amazing form recently and will be a massive threat to them.

I know we are in the right frame of mind to beat teams comfortably now and I really think we will crush them again on Tuesday.

Not enough evidence I'm afraid. Case rejected :D
