Fryatt tight-lipped on new deal - rejects 2nd offer

Some one on TB is saying he's going to Wolves. :dunno:

I could say that he's going to Bognor for his hols this summer because I spoke to his auntie...doesn't mean it's going to happen though.

Seriously - why the **** would Wolves want to buy a player who has failed to impress in the Championship for two seasons, let alone the Premiership (where they are probably headed)?

If they want to cement their chances of promotion like Stoke did last season then they're hardly likely to plump for Matteh.

FRYATT WILL NOT BE LEAVING FOR FREE IF HE LEAVES.

So that means he'll sign a contract sooner rather than ater, or he'll be sold in January.

Or, as already stated in this thread, due to him being under 24, he can't leave without us receiving a fee.

There's only three outcomes:

a) He stays and will struggle to maintain his level in the Championship (which is where we should be again by next season).

b) He stays and continues to blossom. But remember: this is Leicester >_< and we've hardly been spoiled with prolific and consistent goalscorers in the past five to ten years.

c) He leaves and will be a dominant force for whomever he signs. Why? Because he's a Leicester reject. And they always do good or even better someplace else. >_<

I consider option b) to be highly unlikely, but that's not because I don't like Fryatt. It's just a proven fact when you look at our recent past. So, no matter how you put it, unless we get a lot of cash in return, this is a loss-loss situation, either for the club and the player, or for the club and the fans.

I think those three options are a joke - none of them end up with us entering administration again or buying another multi-million pound striker who can't score.

It's the Leicester way.

Akinbiyi isn't doing too shabby at Burnley. In fact, apart from his stint with us, he's maintained a rather good form. He just has a rare gift of being able to waste the easiest of all chances, only to score some of the most incredible goals. >_<

I'm not saying it's true, but McArthy did try to sign him in the summer after a poor season, he's hardly done his reputation any harm since.

I think the only reason the talks are stretching out so long is because of money related issues, not the fact that he doesn't want to stay. Why would he want to leave? He'd be earning decent money here, he's adored by the fans and he's in the form of his life right now. Wouldn't make sense to me if he left.

Surely (within reason) Leicester should give him what he wants, he's probably waiting as he wants more than whats being offered to him. He will want a better contract than what he's on or he could go to another club on a better contract in the summer

I'll think he'll sign, but then again I don't know the guy. A lot of players these days are happy to bench warm at 'a bigger club' for a few more queens heads in their pay packet. I think he'd be stupid not to though.

Not exactly true, we only get compensation if we offer him a contract that is the same or better than his current deal, if we offer him less he goes without any compensation in June, maybe MM is being tight and offering a worse contract (Fryatt is on a Championship deal not League 1 at the moment).

I am not surprised he won't commit immediately, why should he? He is a profssional footballer not a supporter and he will be looking to negotiate the best deal he can here or fook off in the summer for more money. Either way he has no need to commit himself yet..

true the word loyalty does not exist in modern day footballers only very rarely will you get one that stays loyal the only word they have & there agents is greed

if fryatt decides to go then we will have to get over it but i think he will still struggle in the championship is this his right level???????????

Pretty sure that the problem lies in certain contact clauses - they were inserted at Matteh's request but there appears to be problems with the prospect of obtaining his new MFI kitchen and a bag of pick'n'mix from Woolies.

It's a funny old game, if we'd have avoided relegation Fryatt could be wondering who the hell would take him on if his poor performances at that level had continued but relegation has given him a major boost and is allowing him to dictate the terms.

Who'd be surprised if he's not looking back and saying thank god we got relegated.

Just a thought :dunno:

He wouldn't be the only one - I was saying we needed it two and a half seasons ago...and bugger me if it hasn't proven to be the tonic we needed.

In spite of the improved entertainment on the pitch as opposed to off it I still find it all rather sad and I'd have been happy to see Pearson attempt to improve our Championship status this season rather than next.

But that thought is tempered by the knowledge that Holloway would still be in charge.

Oh I'm so mixed up and confused :(:S:cry:

These tribunal fees are never very big at all are they? and also would Walsall get a share of that?
