JakeShingler Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Speaking to a Wolves fan, he thinks that he's average at best and won't cut it in the Championship so he doesn't want him.Speaking to a Preston fan, he says they have too many average strikers at the minute and don't need another on he books. I'm not sure about Derby though. With Ebanks-Blake and Iwelouma no way.

whitlock Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 I know this has nothing to do with the Fryatt topic, but i didnt really think it waranted a new thread tbh, but on the OS and the picture archive has anyone else found they havent been putting up any pictures from the individual games? Or is it just my laptop/internet playing up? Just curious about it as well as my sexuality
Tilley Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Conversation with a tw*t at work today who thinks he knows alot about Leicester City.. Reckons we offered Fryatt.. A 5 year deal, at £50,000 a week

The Bear Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Take Chris Iwelumo for example, was shit for a good part of his early career Was he? 15 goals for Stoke in 40 appearances is decent going. A spate of loan spells and most likely in and out of the Stoke team in that period doesn't help, which is why it probably looks a bit sparse up until his Colchester days. Speaking to a Wolves fan, he thinks that he's average at best and won't cut it in the Championship so he doesn't want him. If you look at his record he has a point. 11 goals in 2 and a half seasons for Leicester at Championship level isn't a good record. Especially when you consider he scored 6 of those in the first 5 months of you signing him (Jan 06 - May 06). He's clearly an excellent striker in League One but the jury is still out on whether he can score consistently well for a top half team in The Championship aiming for playoffs and above. Use your noodle for a minute, Ebanks-Blake, Iwelumo & Vokes, all better than Fryatt, thats forgetting Andy Keogh. For the price they would have to pay, I doubt he is going to make such a huge impact in just five months. I have to agree. It'd be a waste of money in our current situation.
Anish Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Well he can now ask for another £5k a week after his performance today. Whatever happens, we've got to keep him until the end of the season. There is no way we will get a ready-made replacement who will score as many goals as Fryatt if we sell Fryatt in January. I'd love for us to offer him a 2 year deal, he's deserved a new contract just for his goals this season (and his overall performances have been quality too). If we lose him in January we could shoot ourselves in the foot big time.
CosbehFox Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 I have to agree. It'd be a waste of money in our current situation. Might have helped a bit tonight. Wolves won't keep it up much longer. Brum, Reading and Sheff Utd or Burnley.

loverofinsanefox Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Lambert He would be cheaper too. I'd much rather keep Fryatt than Lambert. Whilst Lambert has been more consistent over the last few seasons, I'm not that convinced he could make the step up. Whilst Matty hardly set the Championship alight last year, if he was to continue in this vein of form and sign a new contract with us, I have every confidence that he could make the grade in the Championship next time round, should we be promoted this year. I appreciate that he no doubt wants to play at a higher level again and could well be assured of that, plus better wages, at another club. I just hope that he won't jump ship like some players do in these situations. However if he does, maybe Jamie Ward at Chesterfield would be one worth a punt. Contract up at end of season, hes rejected their contract offer, then would cost only a fee decided by tribunal. Some Championship teams are sniffing around, but I wouldn't say hes out of our reach. Don't know if anyone has any opinions on him?
Maybes Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Mate, your sig is wrong. So true. MADdog living up to his name.
J.Lisemore Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 I can see him leaving in January. he might be thinking that it is to much of a risk to stay with us at this point because of what divison were in and he may never get the opportunity to play for a top championship side again if he turns them down.
Fox You Forest Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Lambert and Howard up top ? I'm not sure i can contain my excitement.

He owes this club for not letting him rot in the reserves this season after his performances in the last few seasons.

Fox You Forest Posted 7 December 2008 Posted 7 December 2008 I'd rather have Hayles and Hammond. 4-3-3 Hayles Sappleton Hammond Some serious jail time right there.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 7 December 2008 Posted 7 December 2008 Why do people keep talking about him not being a championship striker. FFS we are in League 1 lets not get ahead of ourselves
