RowlattsFox Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 I think this 'Fryatt-Lovers' rubbish is a bit of a myth, there are more people that think he is shit then there are that think he's a god. Yes maybe he will be shit in the Championship but I don't think its as definate as some of you seem to think. Take Chris Iwelumo for example, was shit for a good part of his early career but the last few seasons he can't stop scoring at championship level, and I'm sure there are other examples. I think his form this season deserves a new contract, no-one can say for definate what will happen next season if he's still with us and we go up but I think its worth a gamble.

Corky Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 I think he will go. I don't want to sell him in January, let him stay until May and get us up first.
Tilley Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Use your noodle for a minute, for a promotion hunting side, too many strikers is never a problem. What they would pay for him in January would be a drop in the ocean from the money they'd get in promotion. Then bloody get rid the season after. McCarthy clearly rates him. The last time I remember him in a team with confidence at Championship level, he looked the part. Use your noodle for a minute, Ebanks-Blake, Iwelumo & Vokes, all better than Fryatt, thats forgetting Andy Keogh. For the price they would have to pay, I doubt he is going to make such a huge impact in just five months.

I'm all over this post. All over it.
CosbehFox Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 For the price they would have to pay, I doubt he is going to make such a huge impact in just five months. But he may nick a goal for them which gains promotion - Fryatt won't go full stop for a million pounds now or January. I understand Vokes is a bit of flop currently. Sunderland did similar with their never ending purchasing of strikers.
Edmund Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Did you not detect any of the sarcasm?Christ's sake, I gave a list of the reasons why he might be better equipped for a crack at the Championship, then make a jokish comment about how some people still think he will not cut it. All of a sudden I'm pessimistic. Please read my original post again and I think you'll find that you've misunderstood it. No I didn't, I just thought you were jumping on the bandwagon. Yes I did read your original post and I can see im in the wrong, to be honest I didn't link it with your old post and assumed that was your view, soz. Glad you support him though
Milky Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 I don't blame him for rejecting a second offer. He's in a strong position to negotiate.
Corky Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Fryatt would be a fool to leave, in my opinion. You could say that, but who knows how he'd do at another club? We'd be fools to let him go in January.
Joe. Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 I still think he'll stay at least until the end of the season, we'd be absolute mugs to sell him in January. I think the only reason he hasn't signed yet is due to us probably not meeting his financial requirements that he knows he can probably get somewhere else now. Whatever happens, he deserves a new contract from us.

kidder_wolf Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 I understand Vokes is a bit of flop currently Last season he wasnt even a regular starter for relegated Bournmouth, We spotted the potential and signed him, He has scored 3 goals from the bench this season plus started and scored for Wales. At 18 years old he will have a very bright future in the game. How about £500k for Fryatt in January with us loaning you Keogh? Doubt it would happen at MM rates Keogh but we really need a goal scorer who could be cover for Ebanks-Blake.
clazkel Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 F**king hell how does anyone know how he will play in the Championship? Basing an opinion on last season is stupid. Really, really stupid. I'm not saying he'll tear the league apart but at least give him a chance.People bang on about Fryatt-lovers and how he's a favoured player. Well, he's scored a shitload of goals and set up a shitload of goals this season. As far as I can see the Fryatt-haters are a much worse problem than those that appreciate what he's done for us and recognise last season is a poor benchmark to judge what he can do for us in the Championship. Your totally right, how do people know how he will do in the Championship. I hope and personally think he will do well, but who knows. I think when we play palace in the cup he will show what he can do and i think he will prove what he's worth. We need Fryatt if we are to get promoted and i really hope he signs a new contract. I will be gutted if he goes!
Ozwin Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Last season he was shit, this seasons he's repaying us for his previous shittyness. Pisses me off how after finally doing what he should have been doing for the last two seasons he gets all arsey and doesn't take the contract.
DanTheFox07 Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Well To Be Honest If he leaves then will make most of the people happy on here, after so many people slating the guy! so hell go elsewhere and do well in my opinion. Then who have we got oh howard..... Greattttt! goals galore then.
leicesterseddon Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 going to wolves would be such a sideways move for him...it's still possbile we'll be in the same division next season. if he leaves for any club in the championship i will not take to kindly to it at all. i would understand if a premiership team came in for him (which they won't), but personally i don't think there's a club in the championship any bigger than us (certainly not wolves). i know that's not what it's about these day tho. he should stay to repay all the shit from the last two seasons, but fidelity doesn't exist anymore in this game...

The People's Hero Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Ha Ha nice try but its not going to work, im not going to bite Wouldn't expect you to. It's a bit beneath a sleeping giant like you lot!

Get your head out your arse, Open your eyes, and realise where we are!
ASH17LCFC Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 If i was Fryatt, i would stick my two fingers up and leave. For months fans have slagged him off and said he couldn't cut here. Then these so called fans make out Howard is the greatest player in the world. Fryatt is goes, we don't go up.
sdb Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 baffles me why people still keep saying this. He can't cut it in the Championship. Fitter, stronger and more organised defenses. As long as he's banging goals in this season I don't care where he is next season. Can't blame him for wanting to look around as i doubt Nige would stick with him next season. i meant if we get promoted then he'll be essential in that happening. i went on to say the jury's out on him in the championship!!
leicesterseddon Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Get your head out your arse, Open your eyes, and realise where we are! look all i'm saying is that if he does move, there's a decent chance (by no means certain, but within the realms of possibility) we'll be playing against him next season. equally, given where wolves are, you could see why he'd take the chance. but i wouldn't be sympathetic towards a move because he'd probably be signing a 3-year contract, and over that period it may well turn out to be a sideways move.
Ozwin Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Speaking to a Wolves fan, he thinks that he's average at best and won't cut it in the Championship so he doesn't want him. Speaking to a Preston fan, he says they have too many average strikers at the minute and don't need another on he books. I'm not sure about Derby though.
