Flynny Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 I thought him and King had a brilliant understanding, both were great today.
Darkzzz_ Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 Agreed with the positive comments regarding Davies. He was outstanding. Excellent game and a very good footballer.
Thracian Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 As does every player who's ever played the game...? Tunch HAS been a rock in our defence this season, I don't see how you can argue against that. I don't remember saying he wasn't a rock in our defence or even implying it. And if I did think that I wouldn't use today's performance as evidence because I thought he was as good today as in any match. His style of play reminds me of Ian King, one of City's best centre-halves back in the 60s, and, one day, if he improves those weaknesses I mentioned he may even be as good as King and City might be playing at the same level they did when King was here.
Koke Posted 20 December 2008 Author Posted 20 December 2008 The boy was amazing today. Me and Pearson think alike.
Koke Posted 20 December 2008 Author Posted 20 December 2008 Yeah but Wolves still owes us an apology for the Akinbiyi sale - Let us Davies till the summer and we are even.
Flynny Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 Perpared to say we need to buy him in January. If the wikipedia article is any judge of his widely known promise it might just hit 7-figures - don't care.
eye666 Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 Agree we should try and sign him. He was quality today.
goald Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 Sign him up . Doesn't look like we'll let you keep him: http://www.expressandstar.com/2008/12/20/d...tten-at-wolves/ Glad to hear he finally got a start and is playing well for you!
Sods Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 Doesn't look like we'll let you keep him:http://www.expressandstar.com/2008/12/20/d...tten-at-wolves/ Glad to hear he finally got a start and is playing well for you!
dandannieldanok Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 Doesn't look like we'll let you keep him:http://www.expressandstar.com/2008/12/20/d...tten-at-wolves/ Glad to hear he finally got a start and is playing well for you! That is a real shame, it's been quite a while since we've had a central midfielder with the kind of energy yet real composure with the ball at feet Davies showed today. If Wolves do call him back, how good is Darren Potter, the article says he's available.
Milky Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 So he's only got two games left with us. Well that's just annoying.
ousefox Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 He was great today. Controlled the middle brilliantly!
CosbehFox Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 His style of play reminds me of Ian King, one of City's best centre-halves back in the 60s, and, one day, if he improves those weaknesses I mentioned he may even be as good as King and City might be playing at the same level they did when King was here. I know his lad. Anyway, Davies look the part today. An actual centre midfielder who looked comfortable on the ball and chased down players. My Dad likes and that's something...he never says anyone's any decent without reason.
Darkzzz_ Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 He we can manage to keep him longer. I suppose the lure of getting in to the Wolves line up will be too much for us to keep hold of him longer. I think this lad is great. We could do with him on a full time basis.
Sods Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 I know this is a bit of ifs and buts. But if we get promoted, and if Wolves get promoted. Likely to see him next year? But I don't want to talk about promotion. Yet.
Koke Posted 22 December 2008 Author Posted 22 December 2008 I guess he'll be starting against Leeds and Hereford, and then he's off back to Wolves unless we agree on something. Shame if McCarthy doesn't let us have him till the summer. Davies is much better than Berner as a CM.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Of all the fecking games for McCarthy to send out someone to watch Davies . Bollocks. I thought Davies had an excellent game. On a side note, McCarthy said in that interview that Davies "won’t dislodge the players currently in the first team – but it might happen if he gets games. There’s no chance if he doesn’t play." WTF is that about!? He's only got a couple of games left here...does McCarthy think that's enough to get Davies in his first team? I highly doubt it. Just let us have him. ****tard.
davieG Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Hopefully McCarthy's just talking his value up.
Babylon Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Has mattock been in the squad since his arrival?
Ric Flair Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 His performance on Saturday was absolutely mesmerising, he ran the show along with Oakley and King. At one point during this season our central midfield weren't dominating games, but we were still winning. Now that they are dictating play, we look so strong. It is essential we get Davies for at least a further month, McCarthy might let us have him for longer. They don't need him, even if he is good enough to play at a higher level.
The People's Hero Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 I'd have thought another month at least would be beneficial all round.
Ric Flair Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 I'd have thought another month at least would be beneficial all round. I need to apologise about Saturday pal.
Alexikokopops Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Doesn't look like we'll let you keep him:http://www.expressandstar.com/2008/12/20/d...tten-at-wolves/ Glad to hear he finally got a start and is playing well for you! Yeah, but that article also states he scored against Carlisle when that was Bruno Berner. Anyway, he's bloody brilliant.
