Lillehamring Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 I know. What is this? Let's all try and get him found out so he can get a bollocking/the sack and we can go back to listening to people whose mate's auntie cleans the toilets, telling us some bullshit that's about as useful as anne frank's drumkit. Great name for a band!
CosbehFox Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 I think he's probably a youth coach or something similar.
Thracian Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 Whoever knowitall is, he's likely to have a longer, more succesful career as the FoxesTalk erm... know it all, if people stop trying to rumble him, shut up and just accept what he's saying. Wise words, as demonstrated I'm quite sure, by one or two previous contacts.
Jon the Hat Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 As long as he doesn't start giving out info on contracts etc I am sure the club couldn't care less.
Narborough Bod Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 It's all about the timing, he was outed on here before but the posts explaining who he was / where he worked etc were soon deleted. As the Hat says, as long as he doesn't give out any contract / confidential info, then no harm done.
keithweller Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 Get Real! Thats 3 games!!If he was as good as everyone is making out then why as he not forced the hand of the last 6 or so managers with some great peformances and hard work in training, not every manager is stupid. He is miles out is depth, get over it! a little harsh, but can see your side of the argument....yes it is 3 games, all against premiership opposition! (granted hull were not at the time, but were on a great run) certain players more recently have struggled against mid table league one sides! maybe hes a big game player then, gawd knows....all i know is, hes definately to good to not be playing in games...whether for us or another club.
Thracian Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 As long as he doesn't start giving out info on contracts etc I am sure the club couldn't care less. I don't think the club like anyone making unauthorsised comments.
Ash Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 Ive heard from a reliable source , hes just not rated by Pearson! End of....

Fair enough, like Thracian you obviously rate him and your entitled to your opinion but are missing the point! All Levis career with Leicester as been at Champ or prm level so i miss your point, the odd good game or good subs apperance doesnt make him a great player. What i was saying is why in all the years he as been here, why as he been overlooked? Its not rocket science, he just isn't good enough, we have had some shite managers i know but other than a few games with Levien and Kelly no one as rated him or stuck with him, they cant all be blind to his obvious great talent! NOT!

NOT! Porter's not been overlooked. He became a first team regular, got injured for a season, played well pre-season and then got cold-shouldered for whatever reason. It will be interesting to see who City use as the four home-grown players in their 16-man first team squad under new Football League rules next season. I may be wrong but cannot imagine Porter wanting to sign a contract extention the way he's been sidelined this season. Gradel might have a three-year contract from a time when he'd have welcomed the money but I can't see why he'd relish the bit-part role he's playing now for a manager who might give him more involvement when we're looking home and dry but who doesn't really seem to trust him despite his high ratio of assists for time spent on the pitch. Besides none of our home grown players are particularly favoured by our fans. In fact too many of the fans seem to prefer experience to youth anyway and invariably under-rate the young players' contributions. Porter's never seemed popular despite his obvious ability, Gradel gets flak, King escapes regular broadsides only because he keeps scoring vital goals, so who does that leave as likely lads to make up a total of four and would they be likely to get a game anyway? Joe Mattock is the only enduringly popular one - though arguably the least accomplished, at least from what I've seen so far - but in any case everyone says he'll be moving soon and just when he ought to be establishing himself. It doesn't help that we don't even have a competitive Reserves side (we just play friendlies) just when we need one to develop those four players we need. And there's a great big gap between those I've mentioned and the next options anyway. Chambers is injury prone, Lee Cox had no encouragement even when Gilbert was injured, Luke O'Neill is inconsistent, Craig King is athletic but not a prolific scorer for a striker, Billy Kee has badly missed opportunities at a level of football above Academy, Ryan Beswick's fallen off the radar since his girlfriend - perhap coincidentally - turned up on here, Odhiambo's had litle worthwhile football for two years and I honestly see few other alternatives right now, especially when compared to the youngsters of, say, Wolves or Tottenham. I've always argued that we should have a core of homegrown players in our team. But I don't really see us as having improved any one of our more senior youngsters in the last 12 months or so. Not unless I've forgotten someone. Andy King's been Mr Consistency but he no longer attacks the box with the regularity and abandon he had as an 18-year-old because he's employed in a relatively cautious role, successful though it is. There is always talk about our faith in youth but it's a myth and underneath our management seems to have much more faith in experience and I can see us paying for that in time.
Foxes_Trust Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 NP was asked the following question at the Q & A evening held in October Q – When will Levi Porter be back? A (NP) – Other players are ahead of him at the moment. But I am sure he will get a chance at some stage due to injuries, loss of form etc. He has had a difficult year with injuries, but I am aware of his potential due to coaching him at U18 level with England.

In this current team, the lad is just not good enough to get in. I accept he is good enough for this league, but he is at the back end of the pecking order. Don't try and create myths and conspiracy theories about how he's getting unfair treatment just because he's an Academy boy. Nothing has stopped Andy King making a name for himself and establishing himself as a regular. Or Richard Stearman. Or Joe Mattock. Quite frankly, if Porter leaves in January nobody will shed a tear apart from you and a one or two others.

It won't have a massive impact in the lower divisions and I think it's probably another publicity stunt by the Football League."

Pearson is actually a massive fan of Gradel's but having spoken to Max myself, he's having a lot of family problems and couple that with a loss of confidence and I think he's been taken out of the limelight at the minute. My only gripe with Pearson about Gradel is that they've not played him on the left, where he is better suited. But when you have Lloyd Dyer how can he play Gradel there? Nige perhaps could have swapped them over every so often during a game to unsettle the opposition, but whether Lloyd would be any good down the right remains to be seen. I just hope that Gradel regains his natural flair and enthusiasm and Pearson and Shakespeare give him the assurance and confidence to go out and play the only way he knows how to, by running at defenders and trying to score or create goals. He's not finished yet. You can talk about all of the other youngsters but Pearson has put his full faith in King, when others perhaps wouldn't have done and we have all been rewarded by that. Mattock is good enough whetehr you agree or not, he is a massive talent and when there are several Premiership clubs after him, he must be doing something right. Some of the other youngsters probably aren't good enough or ready yet, it's not as cut and dry as you make out regarding them. But I do share your opinion that in the past we haven't had a blueprint for developing our youngsters and trying to build our team around them, but which youngsters have we regretted not playing?
DB11 Posted 19 December 2008 Posted 19 December 2008 but which youngsters have we regretted not playing? Most certainly Sheehan
Jimmy Posted 19 December 2008 Posted 19 December 2008 Most certainly Sheehan who isn't even allowed to take set pieces at Leeds
Ric Flair Posted 19 December 2008 Posted 19 December 2008 Most certainly Sheehan Is that a joke? He's been garbage for Leeds this season by all accounts. Mattock, Powell and Berner laugh in the faces of the Sheehan's of this world. I'm sure he'll now score an 80 yarder against us, but bring it slag.

CosbehFox Posted 19 December 2008 Posted 19 December 2008 I think Sheehan will get sent off against us if he plays....
Lillehamring Posted 19 December 2008 Posted 19 December 2008 Ive heard from a reliable source , hes just not rated by Pearson! End of.... surely, even more reason for him to be loaned out - i'm sure there are dozens of clubs around this level crying out for someone in his position...
