GLC Posted 19 December 2008 Posted 19 December 2008 dara o'brien and frankie boyle tonight, cant wait for this!
Libertine Posted 19 December 2008 Posted 19 December 2008 Very good. Though Frankie's set was again loads of old stuff.
GLC Posted 19 December 2008 Author Posted 19 December 2008 Very good.Though Frankie's set was again loads of old stuff. i loved dara o'brien he was proper funny
stez Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 i loved dara o'brien he was proper funny the thing that annoys me re. dara is the contstant 'airrrrrrrr' after every fvcking punchline! jo brand does it to and she pisses me off n'all. william hague does something similar, he goes; 'mnumumnumnum' after every (well prepared) ad-lib in the house
Uncle Monty Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 Worst one yet, i hate both of them. Mock the week is shite. The one with Sean lock the other week was good. As was Eddie Izzard on channel 4 last night.
purpleronnie Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 Worst one yet, i hate both of them. Mock the week is shite. The one with Sean lock the other week was good. As was Eddie Izzard on channel 4 last night. Agreed, I do like Eddie Izzard though, not sure when that was filmed looked quite old though.
Webbo Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 Eddie Izzard is the most overrated comedian in Britain. If ever there was a thread 'who would you most like to kick in the face', then he'd get my vote.
Daggers Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 I watched this Apollo thing and was amazed by the sheer absence of comedy. What a wonderfully unfunny pair.
Samilktray Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 Ive always found that Frankie Boyle dude to be completely unfunny, after wondering for weeks who he was.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 I didn't think it was up to scratch either. Boyle's sets always seem to consist of the same jokes, and I've never liked O'Brain.
Uncle Monty Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 There just boring chippy islanders. The izzard thing was apparently filmed in 2000
grth2004 Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 worst one yet , the most unfunny comedians ive ever seen , love this show but they need to show younger and fresher comedians and not just people who are on tv anyway. hope next week is better
skinnydipper Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 The Michael Mcintyre one a couple of weeks back was class
The Stig Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 The Michael Mcintyre one a couple of weeks back was class Agreed. Worst one in that Dara and Frankie are excellent in Mock the Week yet Dara was only alright and Frankie's stuff I'd heard all before.
Stevosevic Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 Who is the bloke from Manchester? He was good.
Unabomber Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 Who is the bloke from Manchester? He was good. Jason Manford?
Joe. Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 Frankie Boyle just used all his recycled stand up from his DVD. I found it about as funny as AIDS.
Corky Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 I remember watching one last year. I'd heard Frankie Boyle's jokes before on MTW. He's hit-and-miss for me, funny at times but equally unfunny as well. Dara O'Braian is good, I prefer his jokes as they are more like amusing stories, rather than sharp puns.
The Stig Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 Jason Manford? Good on 8 Out of 10 Cats and even better stand up, he could be the next big thing in stand up in my opinion.
Tommeh Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 Watched all the recent Apollo's and Manford and Rich Hall are the only 2 I've really cracked up at.
Fosse Boy Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 Watched all the recent Apollo's and Manford and Rich Hall are the only 2 I've really cracked up at. Legend. What a bloke.
The Stig Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Eddie Izzard is the most overrated comedian in Britain. If ever there was a thread 'who would you most like to kick in the face', then he'd get my vote. My mate went to se him in London Saturday night and said he was excellent.
