This is a massive game for everyone.

IMO League One has so far has been a bit too easy for us, simply because we have much better players than the other teams and therefore can play better footy.

This means the atmosphere at the Walkers has been shit because the fans know how shit the oppenents are and expect a win, and the players don't try that much because they know they will probably end up winning.

So this is a big test to see where we are. Palace are 8th in the Championship and Warnock is doing a good job there.

Il take a poor, unentertaining 2-1 win for this one any day.

Hopefully the atmosphere will pick up as this one won't be so easy.

2-1 Leicester :scarf:

And ive just realised i forgot to put the poll on this post lol . Help me Mod please

As far as I'm concerned is, If we win it's a great bonus and if we lose, then we can concentrate on the league.

The real test will be to see how far we've actually came in these past 5 months.

should be a good game. This is most definatley a winnable game, but I wont be that bothered if we dont win so we can make the league our upmost priority! :scarf:

Discussing our upcoming cup match last night in my local hostelry.

Whatever the result, we felt that this could be a benchmark as to how we stand in the event of promotion.

If they dominate the game, then we need to take note for next season.

If the sides are fairly equally matched, we should be ok.

I know it's only a cup game, where we are likely to raise our game due to the nature of the opposition, but feel it could still be a rough guide as to our chances next season, if we gain promotion.

Your thoughts.

Can't really use it as a benchmark too much IMO, We've proved even last season we could have good game, which tbh made relegation even harder - We all knew the team could play well, but it was just odd occasions.

We gave Chelsea a game last season, We got Fulham worried, In past season's we have punched above our weights when playing Blackburn, Charlton, Tottenham. Hopefully we will win, hopefully it will be a really benchmark we can test ourselves against and give us a glimpse of what's to come next season should we get promoted, and I do believe the current team could do ok in the Championship (Mid-table, to outside playoffs maybe), but although I want us to win this game like any other game I wouldn't be overly disappointed if we lose and it will be no crisis.

Reckon we will draw with them

Palace is a decent team with pace (Scanell etc) and is pushing for play offs places- its should be a good contest between them and us

From the Merc

Pearson is concentrating mostly on Saturday's FA Cup third-round tie at home to Crystal Palace.

There have been concerns that top scorer Fryatt, who has an ankle knock, and Aleksandar Tunchev (groin strain) might not make it. Pearson said: “It is a bit early but it looks as if they both could be fit.”

Paul Dickov stands by in case Fryatt does not make it and Michael Morrison covered for Tunchev on Sunday.

I am really looking forward to seeing how we fair against a decent Palace side. Plus I want to give Warnock some aggro. lol

But one thing I know is going to happen in this game, Paddy McCarthy is going to bloody score.
