Bert Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 Finners, syston_fox, do you want to pick the under 21's? Jake if you want to play then you can.
Alexikokopops Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 Everyone can play if there's enough space, even Shingler. These were set up as light hearted fun, get involved and meet people. Even if there are too many people come along anyway. You can watch, plus the likelehood is that not everyone will turn up anyway. It's going to be a fair game with us only having 4 subs! I take that it's still rolling subs? We only had one in the first game! Plus me in goal! And a linesman who was against us! Well I'm likely to be in London about 3ish on my own, so a half day would be greatly appreciated I can be out of work from about half 5, maybe a little earlier. Not at 3 though! Looking at the squad.1. We don't have a keeper. 2. Were lacking up front. Only Tomassi is an out and out striker with me, Sparky and Finners part timers. 3. We have a fook load of centre mids. Not taking into account Fox123 whose position i don't know. And Sir Fyn and Alex whom aren't confirmed. I confirmed that I'm definitely not coming! I even updated the list! How the hell has my name ended up back on the list? Who copied an old version of it? Idiots, the lot of you. I can't work with this. I'm off.
Sparky Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 Yea exactly the same from me I turned up at St. Mags for my first game and i'm pretty confident people would of thought I was a dick because of how I am on FT. But I got on with it and got involved with most of the people. This match has had a right dampner put on it just because we agreed on only having 15 players in our squad for the game and people who arent even in our age bracket are moaning. It started with C man saying you only had 4 subs so i offered a solution . Have a read , you will soon see The general spirit of this forum is banter but some people don't want the banter from the Alberts, Cheds, JMEs and Joes down there. Biggest load of bollox ever written , i go out of my way to speak to 3 out of that 4 where i ever i may see them . In reality you guys are cracking bunch of lads I was well up for a laugh for this game but people coming ranting off about a team that doesnt really have nothing to do with them then it takes the light off it abit for me. So if thats me being dramatic then fair enough. It is fairly dramatic , my mention to allow two more player in your squad was only an idea which i ended with "its your call" . Bert came on and said you were happy with 15 and ended the debate which is more than fair enough . To be honest the gloss has been taken off this event for me also with this , its about having a giggle , going for a drink after and having plenty of banter , nothing more or less
Katy Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 I'm going to have to get my Foxes Talk FC circa 2005 picture out, there was FTFC life before this lot you know!
Uncle Albert Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 It is fairly dramatic , my mention to allow two more player in your squad was only an idea which i ended with "its your call" . Bert Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 I just want to clear one or two things up. Firstly it's hard enough to organise the team, getting in touch with everyone, making sure everyone knows where we're playing, what time it is, what kit we're wearing and so on. I can see where people are coming from saying it shouldn't be exclusive, and it isn't. Uncle Albert didn't play the first two, but played the third, JoeyB and Michael The Work Geordie haven't yet played in one of these but they will be this time. We've always said or at least tried to maintain that priority goes to the people that played in the last match and again that's what we've tried to do. There was a big gathering before christmas and we all had a chat about what we thought was best, the main issue that was brought was squad size. Now, this wasn't brought up because people are being selfish for more pitch time, but because we don't want people to turn up, and moan that they didn't get to play as long as everyone else. Finally, I don't decide what happens with the u21's on my own, I try and get in touch with everyone and see what they think of the situation. They give their opinion and again it's discussed on the whole. After taking everyone's suggestions, I simply see what the majority decision is and then finalise it to try and make as many people happy as possible. You may think we're taking this too seriously, but that's not the case, we just want to be organised to make the day run smoothly.
C-man Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 It started with C man saying you only had 4 subs so i offered a solution . Have a read , you will soon see To be fair, I did mean that I thought it was good that we only had 4 subs. I didn't think it was fair on IF last time where we turned up with 2 teams and obviously the superior fitness at the end would win through, (that and having Bert and JME destroying them). Personally, I think it's about having a laugh, but I think people have to take it a little seriously, otherwise there would be no point, we may aswell just go down the boozer if no-one was trying to win the game. Bert's done his best to make it fair for everyone, and the inclusion of MTWG and JoeyB prove this. I can't believe people are criticising him for not allowing others to participate. At the end of the day it was the group's decision and I can see why a lot of people don't want Jake to play. But if he has the pace he showed running off from that steward at Swindon, then I'm sure we could accomodate him in a sort of Elvis Hammond role.
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 Can I just add we can't really have more than 22 (currently 20, sort of)
Samilktray Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 I might show my face. Well... Maybe/Maybe not.
Cat Burger Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 What shall I wear? Berner 31 Leicester shirt? It's a great shirt but a tad small to contain my Christmas pounds.
The People's Hero Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 If it's the home shirt - ideal, as O21s play in BLUE!

To be honest bud , as long as we get a decent number in the pub after and no one goes there trying to give it the big un then i aint fussed
Cat Burger Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 It is blue but I might just wear my 'Fritzl 7' Austria shirt.
Ashley Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 Cool mate - Don't do a Manwell and let in 2 [two] soft goals at the near post. If your talking about MickyRuddles goal, that was unstoppable
Cat Burger Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 It is blue but I might just wear my 'Fritzl 7' Austria shirt. Haven't actually got one of these just to reassure you, but if anyone knows where I can pick one up please let me know.
Cobbo Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 What shall I wear? Berner 31 Leicester shirt? It's a great shirt but a tad small to contain my Christmas pounds. Have you been at the large boys again Ryan?
Corky Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 Yeah! Come and stand with the riff raff, would be nice to meet you Nathan Thanks
