Ultra Posted 26 January 2009 Posted 26 January 2009 Great buy, think its purchase of the window atm. Time will tell. The Heskey and Beattie signings may have more significance.
martyn Posted 26 January 2009 Posted 26 January 2009 Indeed, note sure the Cudicini transfer is worthy of such praise. He's played 20 times in 6 years and I don't think that will change too much at Spurs. Gomes will still be number 1.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 January 2009 Posted 26 January 2009 Pascal Chimbonda back to Spurs?? What the fook? Love how Redknapp's questioned the character of the team, then signs that mardy, sulking little shit.
Lillehamring Posted 26 January 2009 Posted 26 January 2009 SSN reporting that Fulham have accepted a £5mill bid from Hull!Going up in the world there then. good deal
lildave3 Posted 26 January 2009 Posted 26 January 2009 Chimbonda back to Spurs is just a little bit mad. First Defoe, now him, they'll be signing Ossie Ardiles soon.

Joe. Posted 26 January 2009 Posted 26 January 2009 West Ham Sign Nsereko Risky sum of money for an unproven player if you ask me. However, it looks like he's got some good potential behind him; you don't have interest from Juventus and Roma if you're totally inept.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 January 2009 Posted 29 January 2009 From GOAL.com "Turkish Hitman Flies to Tyneside For Talks" By Frank Allerton Updated Wednesday 28 January Fenerbache and Turkey forward Semih Şentürk is believed to have flown into Newcastle airport today for make or break meetings with Newcastle United management staff regarding a £5 million move to the Magpies. The striker, a star of Turkey's heroic Euro 2008 campaign, is believed to want a fresh challenge away from his home nation, and that he can only improve as a player if competing amongst Europe's elite. On a possible move for the striker, United manager Joe Kinnear said, "We've had a good look at the lad, and, providing we can agree personal terms and the medical goes okay, we expect to have him training with us by the end of the week." Kinnear was speaking after watching his Newcastle side slump to another Premier League defeat, this time at the hands of Manchester City at the City of Manchester Stadium. Robinho shrugged off a turbulent few days to put the home side on course for a 2-1 victory. Questioned by police on Tuesday over allegations of a serious sexual assault — which he denies — and fined about £320,000 for walking out of City’s training camp in Tenerife, the Brazilian was selected in the starting line-up at the City of Manchester Stadium and cleverly teed up Shaun Wright-Phillips to score in the seventeenth minute. Craig Bellamy hit City’s second goal on his debut. Andrew Carroll scored a consolation goal for the visitors, after a mistake by City debutant Wayne Bridge, who recently signed for Chelsea.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 January 2009 Posted 29 January 2009 Too much time on my hands? Yep.
Jonezy Posted 29 January 2009 Posted 29 January 2009 Matt Derbyshire to Olympiakos? Now, there is an odd one.... Really odd.
Tilley Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Newcastle signed Kevin Nolan from Bolton for £4 million on four year deal. Quality signing. They're also after Ryan Taylor from Wigan, which would be a great signing too. El-Hadj Diouf to Blackburn for £2 million.

Agree, Nolan is just what Newcastle need, a dependable performer and Taylor is potentially a very good player too. Can't see why Allardyce is persisting with Diouf, done nothing at Sunderland.

Bit strange why Nolan has gone Newcastle, maybe that's why they signed Davies. Agree, Nolan is just what Newcastle need, a dependable performer and Taylor is potentially a very good player too. Can't see why Allardyce is persisting with Diouf, done nothing at Sunderland. Diouf was very good at Bolton though, where Big Sam was the manager.
