Been deleting stuff claiming to know who knowitall is as well as a lot of speculation - and I'll continue to do so. Please don't. The bigger an issue this becomes the more likely his/her cover'll be blown sooner rather than later.

Having knowitall as a source of information is very, very useful, let's not shoot ourselves in the foot.

I agree, but what clubs ask for and what they now get are two entirely different things - especially now.

Morrison and Hobbs have both been found wanting this season, especially when they play together - I have no faith in them as a centre-back partnership against the better teams in this flight. As for Kisnorbo *hoooof*, well I will *hoooof* welcome him back until *hoooof* he gets injured again.

Gradel and Adams haven't covered well - that is a simple fact from the first half or the season, neither have been good enough and this is reflected in the number of times they've been selected to start.

Finally, the intial post in this thread casts a shadow over Davies returning - and even if he did it would only be for a limited period not the reast of the season.

January signings rarely do well - but, as I posted, we have some real causes for concern.

I think most clubs will hold out for quite a bit still, at least until the summer.

Hobbs has been quite solid at centre-back to be fair, and Morrison has done ok. We wouldn't fall completely apart as long as we have them. And Kisnorbo has proved he can do it at Championship level, so I really wouldn't worry too much yet.

Gradel has hardly figured lately, and one can only hope he can get back into a rhythm after all the private problems. He showed he could cut it last season and at the start of this season, so I wouldn't dismiss him yet.

I'll give you Adams though. Way too inconsistent so far.

If we don't get Davies, we could just go back to the Berner/King combo in the middle. After all, we still have Mattock and Powell battling for the leftback spot.

I understand the concerns, but I don't think the situation is as precarious as you make out :thumbup:

Roody hell! How much of a waste of money was DJ!!!!!! Why is he not playing for us? does he hate it here? very rare a players gets loaned out to play a higher standard of football.

Surely the with the amount of games still to play he would have got his chance. Robbie Fowler and Hasselbaink or DJ :crylaugh:

With DJ's lack of form/matches, I'm surprised a championship club have come in for him.

With no potential strikers coming in, I too fear injury troubles ahead.

I'm all for offloading high wage earners that don't feature, Campbell, N'Gotty etc, but not at the detriment of the team.

I dont know why everyones going on about us getting loan signings. The loan window is open a lot longer than the transfer window.

Dissapointed to lose Davies , i think thats a massive blow . Striker wise i think we need better cover for Fryatt / Howard but if the worst comes to the worst we can just loan someone outside the window like Aero said

Bad news about Davies. He's impressed me no end over the period he was here. I hope Nigel can just keep knocking on Mick McCarthy's door. It'd be really helpful if we could have him back.

Hoping Fryatt's light training can improve and he can make it onto the bench for Saturday. We might need him.

I hope Fryatt is fit enough to be on the bench sat as i think we will need him, and im gutted Davies isnt coming back

I must have missed that. I went to Kettering where they looked okay but I wouldn't wish to rely on them in the event of an injury. Besides Chambers seems to be have been as injury prone as anyone.

Did you not go to Hinckley, when Fryatt and Chambers came on second half, they changed the game. Yeah i know it was Hinckley but they linked up well together

Dont know all I know is he is the highest wage earner after Bruno N'gotty. Whom we are not paying cause he is injured and the insurance covers his wage.

Don't think the club insure's its players. premuims too expensive

Yeah, Porter played really well that game aswell, hasnt really been given a chance since, i hope he gets his chance. Porter, Fryatt and Chambers ran at them with pace, in the first half it was DJ and Howard up front i think and it was so predictable and slow

If we don't bring anyone in it will be because big Nige hasn't been able to get the player(s) he wants, so don't blame MM as he has said that he will back NP in bringing in new players. The real dissappointment is if we can't bring back Mark Davies, he's quality for sure. Trust NP & MM we will get auto promotion before end of season. Up the city!!

that's a fair point, i'd rather see no new players, than the usual panic-buying-for-the-sake-of-buying that previous managers have put us through.

although, i'm sure davies would be a great asset to hold onto, it seems rather too many people have forgotten that he's only started a few games, and berner was doing a decent job before hand... but i guess it's that old city fan malady of liking certain players and hating others regardless of their performances :dunno:
