DB11 Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 Or she! Milan's Mrs? Having a long chat with Tunchev?! O.o
Tevez Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 people stop trying to work out who Knowitall is and just be grateful he posts on here U've got a bit of brown stuff out your mouth and nose
Cobbo Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 So just Dickov Fryatt & Howard up front then?Unless im missing somebody obvious out. Ashley Chambers too, coming back from injury. He was looking shit hot pre season.
Daggers Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 Not trying to bring anyone in but looking just in case. Has to be the single-most short-sighted thing Mandaric has done for a long time (if it is his cost-cutting measures at work here). A squad that (in reality) is paper thin when it comes to ability in this League, and a squad that is seriously lacking in Championship terms, desperately needs some addition. We are lacking quality on the wing, imagination in midfield, anything in centre defence when Tunch is out and nothing up front to score goals aside from Matty (who will have a barren patch at some point during the second half of the season). We are relying heavily on a select bunch of players, a number of who now are looking very jaded (Dyer is a shadow of his earlier self). We may well get promoted without January signings but this surely leaves us needing even more players come summer. Surely it is more prudent to start bedding in players now than face the prospect of a whole bunch of players trying to get to know one another next August and September. Or maybe Mandaric has decided that bouncing between the Championship and Div.III is our new level?
Jimmy Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 U've got a bit of brown stuff out your mouth and nose or you could say I'd rather not know who he is so he can carry on giving us this type of info and clearing up any rumours that start up ...
Daggers Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 or you could say I'd rather not know who he is so he can carry on giving us this type of info and clearing up any rumours that start up ... Ditto. I'd also like people not to look too closely in this gift-horse's mouth.
jimmer Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 Just watched Pearsons interview on the OS and he claims Matty has trained today and will possibly feature on sat.........Do you really knowitall?
Webbo Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 If this MM's decision not to sign any players (and we've no proof that it is) then people should remember that we've already signed Powell, Berner and Edworthy since the start of the season, money doesn't grow on trees. We know that the club are losing money and there is a reluctance by banks to lend money at the moment. Barring a major injury crisis (in which case we could probably get loans in) we should still get promotion with the current squad.

I doubt it very much. I saw on bluearmy.co.uk that he will back NP for any players that he would like to sign. So I'm guessing NP is quite happy with the squad...and isn't desperate to sign any players. My guess is that he will probably sign (most likely on loan) someone in the last week of the window.

Or maybe Mandaric has decided that bouncing between the Championship and Div.III is our new level? Prices are inflated in January, and there are probably a lot of clubs out there trying to trim down their wage bill come the end of this season (partly due to the crisis). I can imagine that NP and MM are biding their time and looking out for good deals this summer. Morrison, Hobbs and Kisnorbo should be adequate stand-ins at this level should Tunchev get injured or called up. Our fullback positions are covered too. Dyer may be jaded but there's no reason why Adams or Gradel can't step in and do well (or do just as bad). We're thin up front and in central midfield, but if we can get Davies back, we'll be pretty well covered in the latter position. And I wouldn't be surprised if NP is looking at bringing in a striker on loan. And I wouldn't be too nervous about an influx of players during this summer. After all, 11 new players (Martin, Powell, Tunch, Morrison, Hobbs, Edworthy, Gilbert, Dyer, Berner, Dickov, Adams) have come in this summer, not to mention King and Gradel who were just as "new", and NP has got them playing quite well, hasn't he?

knowitall Posted 8 January 2009 Author Posted 8 January 2009 thanks for the update.Any idea what DJ's weekly wage is - clearly it's high, and he deserves about a tenth of it.....?? Dont know all I know is he is the highest wage earner after Bruno N'gotty. Whom we are not paying cause he is injured and the insurance covers his wage.
knowitall Posted 8 January 2009 Author Posted 8 January 2009 How do you know all this?Pretty bad news all round then. I am a very lucky guesser.
JakeShingler Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 I am a very lucky guesser. The Lottery numbers are?
StanSP Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 Dont know all I know is he is the highest wage earner after Bruno N'gotty. Who's stupid idea was it to give N'Gotty the highest wage, knowing full well he was about a billion years old (okay, maybe not that much) and nearing the end of his career?! it's not like we needed him THAT badly!
knowitall Posted 8 January 2009 Author Posted 8 January 2009 Just watched Pearsons interview on the OS and he claims Matty has trained today and will possibly feature on sat.........Do you really knowitall? He did very light training today. Do you want to push him into a quick return like they did with Henderson only for it to backfire?

I agree, but what clubs ask for and what they now get are two entirely different things - especially now. Morrison and Hobbs have both been found wanting this season, especially when they play together - I have no faith in them as a centre-back partnership against the better teams in this flight. As for Kisnorbo *hoooof*, well I will *hoooof* welcome him back until *hoooof* he gets injured again. Gradel and Adams haven't covered well - that is a simple fact from the first half or the season, neither have been good enough and this is reflected in the number of times they've been selected to start. Finally, the intial post in this thread casts a shadow over Davies returning - and even if he did it would only be for a limited period not the reast of the season. January signings rarely do well - but, as I posted, we have some real causes for concern.
ousefox Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 Are we not looking to buy at all now then knowitall?
GLC Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 He did very light training today. Do you want to push him into a quick return like they did with Henderson only for it to backfire? good to know hes in training well done knowitall

Flynny Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 Been deleting stuff claiming to know who knowitall is as well as a lot of speculation - and I'll continue to do so. Please don't. The bigger an issue this becomes the more likely his/her cover'll be blown sooner rather than later. Having knowitall as a source of information is very, very useful, let's not shoot ourselves in the foot.
Monk Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 Is knowitall actually Filbert the Fox? How else could he eavesdrop so effectively? Thank you sir!
