Darkzzz_ Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 The last two nights have made the CL a lot more interesting.
AjcW Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Well Done Chelsea . Glad I watched that game even though madrid milan was clearly entertaining. For anyone who didnt watch Chelsea 4-0 Atletico. It was an entertaining game to, and I just feel sorry for atleticos attack and attacking midfield because some of the things they produce are unbelievable in quality..... and then the """""""Defenders""""""" go and hash it all up.
CosbehFox Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 I can't get into the Champs League this year. The new rules mean too many poor teams and the group stages have a non-competitive feel about them too.

The new rules mean too many poor teams and the group stages have a non-competitive feel about them too. I'm personally enjoying it more. I like seeing all these teams from 'lesser' countries get a go at the big boys.

I think it has been brilliant. From what I have seen, I haven't seen a stronger team at both ends of the pitch than Chelsea.
Tommeh Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Horrible evening. Surrounded by Chelsea fools, trying to muster songs without knowing the words then trying to go "mental" after each of their goals whilst I pretty much sobbed my eyes out watching Aguero having a complete 'mare. It's not like they were much better than Athletico who had many chances, such a flattering scoreline, tossers I ended up leaving with the remark "Edgar Davids is 5 times your whole squad will ever be." Although really enjoying this seasons champs league, this anti-English (except Arsenal) supporting is pretty enjoyable
Koke Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Atletico Madrid were just piss poor tbh. Chelsea could have scored 5 or 6, and they weren't even playing that well themselves. Kalou should have had a hattrick. And they were without a few key players as well.

Tommeh Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 I'm so surprised...I bet Loft was loving it Not overly fussed by that, I owe him a fiver currently then we'll be evens when Kun gets it back at the Vicente Calderón. Just more annoyed that such complete tools exist in the same boozers as myself.
shen Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Genius decision, really enjoyed the game. Seedorf has played some quality stuff along with Pato. Even Ronaldinho is looking decent. Seedorf for the 3rd goal, magic 'Dinho was woeful apart from one surge and cross Where has that fantastic player we once knew gone?
Budweiser Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 'Dinho was woeful apart from one surge and cross Where has that fantastic player we once knew gone? Well to be honest I only caught the last 20 mins (plus a bit of channel flicking), and I thought he was decent. He decided to booze regularly, then got a bit chubby and ruined his career. He was the big thing a couple of years ago but now he's fading away in an ageing Milan side. Bad times for him aye.
StanSP Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Pato yuou fooking legend. And well done to A.C. Milan anyway, apart from Dida, who's just shite. What was Marseillle Zurich score?? Only caught a glimpse of the scores earlier in bar and it was 0-0. Dunno if it ended that way.

StanSP Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 1-0 Marseille. Heinze scored. Cool cheers. Didn't know Heinze was at Marseille now.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Pirlo's strike against Real was straight out of the top drawer. I know he might be past it, and slighlty over rated as a player, but his technique at striking a ball should just be admired.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Assuming it was another master free-kick? Nope, just a "from nowhere" thunder bolt. About thirty seconds in. Looked better in real time. Couldn't watch all of Chelsea / Atletico, thought the game was boring, fell asleep, and the way Tyldsley kept calling Kalou "Sallyman Kalou" made it actually unbearable for me.
StanSP Posted 22 October 2009 Posted 22 October 2009 Nice goal. Yeah Chelsea vs At. Madrid wasn't great. Glad I couldn't hear the commentary due yto some shocking karaoke .
Uncle Albert Posted 22 October 2009 Author Posted 22 October 2009 I bet Loft was loving it Not overly fussed by that, I owe him a fiver currently then we'll be evens when Kun gets it back at the Vicente Calderón. Me, you and Ben all know you will be paying me a crisp £10 note.
AjcW Posted 22 October 2009 Posted 22 October 2009 Im with tommeh on this one, Kun will get 1 maybe 2 in spain. Just had an off game against Chelsea. Lets be honest, Messi, Kun, etc etc cant even get a touch of the ball when they play on English turf. Spanish football is entertaining, no doubt, and I will always watch it and enjoy it, but the champions league shows how technically "Shit" spanish teams are defensively and how they lack any sort of a back bone.

Apart from Barca actually winning it of course.
AjcW Posted 22 October 2009 Posted 22 October 2009 Apart from Barca actually winning it of course. Barca are the exception.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 22 October 2009 Posted 22 October 2009 Aguero will not be scoring agaisnt Chelsea in Spain. Forlan is the better player.

As if anybody cares if your with Tommeh. Aguero wont be scoring in Spain - Athletico wont be scoring full stop in Spain. Yeah they are well shit! Barca have won it twice in the last four years. Clown.
Finnegan Posted 22 October 2009 Posted 22 October 2009 I thought you were supposed to know everything about Spanish football, Mr. Barcelona? Atletico are woeful. They've won one game this season and sit about four points above relegation. Everyone knows Aguero is a quality footballer but that doesn't mean he, or any of the Atletico squad, are on good form. And as much as I dislike Chelsea, they're also a quality outfit full of talented individuals who collectively tend to perform a hell of a lot better in both domestic and European competition than the Atleti.
