That's closed down as well- it was going to open as a carvery but seems to have fallen through! *I wonder why?* The Empire (!) is also shut. Been in there once. When I lived on Coleman Road, the Full Moon was in the process of closing down and turning into a private club/pub. The only local I've had, was the Stirrup Cup. Fcukit, just had a thought, fcuk what the house looks like next time I move, I'll look for the fecking local pub first!

Nearest first The Blackbird....used to be a decent pub...every Saturday with the family but it slowly became a bobhole and then, the plonkers moved in as locals. Been done up but remains to be seen if it can regain it's glory days. Mum and Dad had wedding reception in there long time ago, wasn't born. Anstey Lane Club...been in there about twice watching Tigers play...get frowned up because I'm not a member. It's the size of house and unless there's a good crowd, can be a bit cliquey. The Adventurers.....another cliquey crowd and a pub which has had it's own running saga. Alrightish at a push, watched City beat Tranmere in the Wortho Cup Final. Up the Woodgate Tapas Bar MK 1.....okay establishment, sold fine Sagres on tap which must have been chilled in the Arctic. Watched England-Israel, again attracted wrong crowd. Tapas Bar MK 2.....dodgehole. Avoid. Average age of locals is 15 and half. Friar Tuck....visited once in the infamous England v Denmark WC post-match crawl. It was firmly stuck in the 70s then, is it still a pub? Far too shadey to try. Foresters Arms....remains the best in the local area. Good bar staff, good landlord who puts on the odd grub. Sports coverage one week seems to be on, next week not. North Bridge....now RIP. Once legendary stop-off when coming back from Sunday kickabout on Abbey Park. Shame it went but the numbers were never in. Also starred in the infamous pub crawl of 02 up Woodgate - it was the final stop as every fell asleep eating Chip and Gravy Cobs. The Ship and Glasseygate...N/A. The Ship is said to still stock Oakwell Bitter. Up Fosse Road Westfoundpool WMC....Working Mens Club belong in 70s. Naff. The Rocket....went twice. Scary place which got it's just reward. I suppose it's scary, just daft. Everyone in there was pissed up but at the stage of being pissed up where they couldn't control a punch, let alone throw one. The Empire.....didn't mind it in here. Did get dead though if nothing was in except Black Joey badgering you for a pint. Shame it's closed. Although hearsay tells me someone's attempting to get it back running. Up Abbey Lane The Abbey...Alright pub. Haven't been since the relaunch but word on the street says it's not too bad, it just lacks the custom. The Broadway....didn't mind it again but wankers started appearing with drugs and the atmosphere became nasty. It's also cursed, I don't think I've ever been somewhere so cursed. I've seen someone pass out it in, some old boy fall over and knock himself out and of course, there was the recent death in an assault. Choose the right time, it's ok but change of owner has soured the feel. Tom Hoskins....surprisingly good. Just don't go in there with Billy Bigboots, put grub when appropriate, have a telly room and a lounge. Spot on really. Bulls Head Far too long since I've last been, I understand the ex-landlord of the Blackbird had it for about 2 weeks before being emotionally scarred with the jip he was taking off the locals. Detour Up Parker Drive Gaunt...Infrequent visits by myself, last time I seen City get relegated there. Decent crowd but rumour says it won't be there for much longer or open. The Beaumont......Another pub which loves a saga, ages and ages since I've been. Has trouble with travellers and remains to be seen if it remains a decent pub.

My first time in there was after the Orient game and yeh it was very cliquey but funnily enough I knew every one in there from years back. Went in the Addies too that day I think it was another opening night for the place probably closed down again Couple of days before I went in the Broadway, god what a sad excuse for a pub! The Bulls Head is just a dump and very run down. The Jungle had about two people in there and The Talbot had two men playing some god awful organ music. Safe to say I had a chinese and an early night that day!

You didn't used to go Boggy fleas did you?Just reminded me of a few pubs i've been in.....Blackbird used to be my first "local"(18 at the time and shoving all my weeks wages in the bandit on a friday night!) The Rocket is now The Coach And Horse's and i still wouldn't go in! The Empire's still got the painters in! And it's Newfoundpool club.....which i go to pay up every christmas,but haven't actually had a beer in there for years! My "local" at the moment is the shaky......but it's Everards and i prefer proper bitter,so i suppose it's the Western at the moment.Except for Thurs,Fri and Sat of this week,It's the leic beer festival!

The Foresters is my local , in there fairly often, plenty of sport on and im good mates with the gaffer . I also use The Blackbird , The Portuguese bar on Woodgate , Heathley Park and the John O Gaunt .
