Guest Bilo Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 For me, Hobbs has been one of our best players this season and his partnership with Tunchev always looked solid till the Tunch got injured. There's certainly no reason to believe that partnership wouldn't be able to cut it at Championship level. He seems to enjoy playing here, probably isn't going to get into the Liverpool squad any time soon so I think this would be a good bit of business.
MPH Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 WE ARE IMPS WE ARE IMPS WE ARE IIIIIMPS surely too early to be drinking?
Halfsy Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 Liverpool are very unlikely to release Jack Hobbs for anything less than £1million, from what i have been informed from Liverpool supporters. And, being a young English player, he is going to cost more in transfer fee than Tunchev. Jack Hobbs was struggling when he was asked to play right back, but since Tunchev has been injured, he has stepped up his game and been fantastic for us in his natural position. I thought away at Millwall particularly he was outstanding. Hopefully Milan will strecth his purse strings and sign Hobbs if we are playing Championship football next year.

I've been informed by Leicester supporters on this thread that £400k is; a) Too much. b) Too little. c) Just right. I really don't see what that proves.

I really don't see what that proves. Neither do i! I certainly rate Jack Hobbs' potential at £1million. If we are promoted we will have several very good centre halves. Tunchev, Kisnorbo, Hobbs, Morrison. Depending on where else we can strengthen, i think he may well be a very astute signing, should we Liverpool want to release him of course.

Im still unsure on whether i want us to sign Hobbs or Gilbert. Its a tricky one. Obviously if we don't sign those two, we will have to sign a right back at least. Probably 2 right backs as Edworthys disappeared.
Matt Posted 31 March 2009 Author Posted 31 March 2009 Leicester City Football Club hope to sign Jack Hobbs in the summer. The 20-year-old defender has been a huge hit at the Walkers Stadium this season, as the Foxes look on course for an instant return to the Championship. Hobbs accepts his chances of getting into the Liverpool side are improbable next term, and City hope to persuade the Premier League side to sell the player permanently. It is believed Nigel Pearson is confident of agreeing a deal with the Reds, with the figure of £400,000 being mooted by the Sunday Mercury at the weekend. http://www.fansfc.com/story/8967.html
bald reynard Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 We will have Brown too. For goodness sake, I hope not - he's s**t*. I really do hope NP has not signed up to a clause that we HAVE to take him !
Chairman of the Bored Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Buy him. Been our best player of late IMO.
Legend_in_blue Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 I would go as so far to say that he has been our most consistent player this season. Therefore, he is my player of the season. Tunchev would have had it, had he not got injured.

lcfc_jme Posted 1 April 2009 Posted 1 April 2009 Keep JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK, he's good as well as entertaining. Him and Tunch at the back next season, Dwayne playing right-back (hopefully) and bring in a new, decent left back. Sorted. In there like swimwear.
The People's Hero Posted 1 April 2009 Posted 1 April 2009 "in there like swimwear'. I like that. It's done Flynny out of a few royalties, mind.

Ross-Kemp Posted 1 April 2009 Posted 1 April 2009 Had a chat with Mitchell Rowley (ex youth team player, quit due to injury ) on Monday evening, he said, Kisnorbo is going in the summer, as is Clemence. Hobbs and Gilbert to sign permanently, a new goalkeeper, Pearson wont sign Warner 'nor Martin, Edworthy and Brown are set to be released, and he has had a bid for an unknown striker accepted.
FilboFox Posted 1 April 2009 Posted 1 April 2009 Interesting... so looks like there'll be a complete reshuffle again... hmm...

Candidcamera Posted 2 April 2009 Posted 2 April 2009 All this sounds like deals are being given on merit. Leicester have come a long way in a year !

Sorry to piss on your parade, but would an ex youth team player really know Pearsons in-depth transfer plans this summer? I doubt it. I think all plans would only be shared with Milan and senior staff??

Do you really think he's told Edworthy and Kisnorbo that they're out in the summer and that the keepers know they won't be needed next season? Some pep talk that must have been!
