Dr The Singh Posted 2 April 2009 Posted 2 April 2009 Senior staff!!!Do you really think he's told Edworthy and Kisnorbo that they're out in the summer and that the keepers know they won't be needed next season? Some pep talk that must have been! I was thinking the same Honcho, you need to jion my seperatist movement, I have high hopes for you!!!
Head Honcho Posted 2 April 2009 Posted 2 April 2009 I was thinking the same Honcho, you need to jion my seperatist movement, I have high hopes for you!!! I'm all for seperatism-I'm can't wait for us to be seperated from the likes of Swindon, Hartlepool and Carlisle
Dr The Singh Posted 2 April 2009 Posted 2 April 2009 I'm all for seperatism-I'm can't wait for us to be seperated from the likes of Swindon, Hartlepool and Carlisle That's good enough for me, your in!!!
Ross-Kemp Posted 2 April 2009 Posted 2 April 2009 Sorry to piss on your parade, but would an ex youth team player really know Pearsons in-depth transfer plans this summer?I doubt it. I think all plans would only be shared with Milan and senior staff?? Sorry to piss on your parade chuckle, but all the ex youth team at city, Mattock, Stearman, Cobb, O'neil, Rowley, Chambers, Wesolowski etc... Are all very close friends still, which is why Stearman is at city youth games when he's not playing. And Mattack will know the ins and outs. So, we'll see

Why would Pearson announce to the squad that certain people are going to be released and who he's not going to sign? That's hardly the motivation they're going to need for the remaining six games.

And Mattack will know the ins and outs. So, we'll see Maybe you're right, maybe Pearson takes time out to discuss with all his young players who he's bidding for and getting rid of in the summer WHILE THIS SEASON IS STILL HAPPENING!!? I dont think so, im sure they discuss all sorts when Stearz is back for the day? Fashion, R n B tunes, who's got the best shades etc but it would amaze me if Nige would allow his transfer plans to become gossip for the kids!!
Daggers Posted 2 April 2009 Posted 2 April 2009 Isn't speculation brilliant! *I may or may not fully agree with the above statement.

lefox Posted 2 April 2009 Posted 2 April 2009 I can't be arsed to read through 6 pages.. did we make the offer, did we get laughed at?
StanSP Posted 2 April 2009 Posted 2 April 2009 I can't be arsed to read through 6 pages..did we make the offer, did we get laughed at? Apparently so. Think there was a link from 31 March that said we were closing in on the deal. Some people think it's too high, some people think it's too low. Others think it will be a right coup if Pearson pulls it off.

So is Rafa waiting for us to put in an offer for Gerrard too before he gives us an answer? Like a "you buy one you get one free" type of deal!

SamL Posted 2 April 2009 Posted 2 April 2009 Had a chat with Mitchell Rowley (ex youth team player, quit due to injury ) on Monday evening, he said, Kisnorbo is going in the summer, as is Clemence. Hobbs and Gilbert to sign permanently, a new goalkeeper, Pearson wont sign Warner 'nor Martin, Edworthy and Brown are set to be released, and he has had a bid for an unknown striker accepted. All of that sound's pretty promising, shame about Kisnorbo though because he's been one of our better players of late.
lcfc_jme Posted 2 April 2009 Posted 2 April 2009 All of that sound's pretty promising, shame about Kisnorbo though because he's been one of our better players of late. Tunch and Jaaaaaaaaack would be my first choice CB pairing, with Kisnorbo only filling in for suspension or injury purposes really. Sure he's a nice enough guy to have around - indeed I've found him quite down-to-earth and pleasant when I've spoken to him - but in terms of actually missing him if he goes, I doubt we would too much. He's definitely replaceable.

IF these things are true, it might in some part justify the the season ticket deadline. Not saying it was a good idea but I got a Leeds mate who says KB pulled a similar tactic last year and tried to justify it by saying it was to get cash in to make some early dealings in the transfer market (very similar to what Lee Hoos said), then ended up only paying a fee (reckoned to be about 100 grand) for one player all summer. If it turn out like this, at least we know it went to some use instead of Milan putting the the notes in his back pocket. We will see.
samuel Posted 3 April 2009 Posted 3 April 2009 A family member is a plumber and did some work round at Kisnorbos place on Freemans wharf a couple of weeks ago, Henderson and his missus live there aswell, they both told him they were leaving at the end of the season.
davieG Posted 3 April 2009 Posted 3 April 2009 Merc Nigel Pearson has confirmed that he wants to sign on-loan Liverpool defender Jack Hobbs on a permanent basis. With Leicester City having been linked this week with a possible £2million move for Swindon striker Simon Cox, Hobbs is set to be another focus for Pearson in the summer transfer market. The City boss remained guarded on the future of the 20-year-old but said: "If you are suggesting I might be interested in bringing him here, that would be right." Hobbs, who is on a season-long loan from Liverpool, has been the subject of newspaper speculation for several weeks about a permanent switch to the Walkers Stadium, with reports that City have already offered £400,000 for the ex-Lincoln man. It has been wrongly reported that Hobbs is out of contract at Anfield in the summer. He has made 38 appearances for City this season and is again expected to be in the starting line-up against Carlisle United at the Walkers tomorrow. It is a match which also sees the return of two vital players, with striker Steve Howard back from suspension and midfielder Andy King returning from Wales Under-21 duty. Pearson said: "It is good to have key players available. I think we have managed well this season with injuries and suspensions, but something like this is always nice because it gives everyone a lift." The best lift for the City camp would be to beat Carlisle and Pearson pointed to the fluctuating fortunes of several teams this season as a reason to keep concentration levels high. He said: "When we lost last weekend at Peterborough, it was their sixth win in a row - eight out of nine I think - and they are having a great run. "But it was only a few weeks ago we were looking at the gap between ourselves and MK Dons so it is important to focus on what we do ourselves. "It is going to be tough because every side we meet from now on has something to play for. "We have six games left and that represents 18 points so there is a lot of football still to be played."
maddog Posted 3 April 2009 Posted 3 April 2009 It would be stunning if we signed cox. It would be alright if we signed hobbs.
Matt Posted 12 April 2009 Author Posted 12 April 2009 Nothing new really and it's pretty much exactly the same as what has already said but: NOTW Leicester want to make on-loan Liverpool defender Jack Hobbs a £400,000 permanent signing. The 20-year-old, who has a year left on his Anfield contract, has played a key role in taking the Foxes to the top of League One.
