Andrew Barcham and Simeon Jackson

Daniel Sturridge on loan for a season.

he's out of contract and I doubt his new club would loan him out straight after signing

And theres the fact that he's been linked with Chelsea and Villa... cant see him slumming it with us.

Really?

:D

Ok, I'll admit, I only just watched them in the Playoff final.

Barcham had good control, a decent cross, pace and seemed a decent prospect.

I have seen Jackson before and he impressed me even more in the final.

What's wrong with Simeon Jackson?!

Nothing wrong with him. I remember watching him against Aston Villa in the FA Cup this year, and he looked alright. But that was only one game.

I think there are better players we could go for, other than League Two players. Well, League One now.

I went to the game earlier. I thought Jackson did nothing and Barcham looked quick but nothing more. The only player who really impressed me was Simon King, the Gills centre half, but the last thing we need is another one of those.

Adriano Basso

Robbie Neilson - Jack Hobbs - Aleksandar Tunchev - Dean Lewington

Akos Buzsaky - Matt Oakley - Andrew Surman - Lloyd Dyer

Simon Cox - Steve Howard

subs:

David Stockdale

Wayne Brown

Andy King

Dany N'Guessan

Matty Fryatt

Now that is a pretty decent, and realistic side for next season, it is a wishlist though.

Do you not think that that side is staggeringly harsh on Fryatt (32 goals last season) and King (virtual ever present). Those two should virtually be the first two names on our teamsheet next season, they deserve a shot at the championship under Nigel Pearson. Sure, buy other players, but those two should be starters. If they don't perform, drop them and bring in others.

The worst thing we can do is buy too many new players. If I was looking at it, I'd cap it at an absolute maximum of 7 new players, including Brown, Hobbs and Neilson. We don't want the same sort of disruption as we did at the start of 07/08

Just because i've put them on the bench doesn't mean that they'll never play, its not like we will pick the same starting 11 for all 46 games is it? They will get their chances but I personally think Surman and Cox are better players.

Morgaro Gomis from dundee, link to Ipswich today. But i have been impressed the 3 or 4 times i have seen him.

Get around the pitch well, good touch keeps the ball well. A little on the small side but a decent player may be worth a pop.

What about Andy Bishop.

Now, I realise he has never played above League 1 , but is he worth a punt?

As back up or something?

Scores 20+ every season, then again, it is League 2 for Bury.

He used to play for York and has never played above League 2 level. He was very good at York and definately a cut above the rest. He is also a very loyal player and often comes back to watch York whenever he isn't or cannot play for any reason. I am not sure if he would be worth a punt at in the championship though.

Joey Gudjonsson isn't good enough for the Premiership is he :dunno:

Alternatively if Sheffield United go up Lee Hendrie may be worth one more season in the Championship.

Wouldn't mind both of them :P

After today would Joey Gudjohnson be a shout? He hardly starts for Burnley and I doubt will play every week in the Prem, we should never allowed him to leave! Damn CL!

I only saw glimpses of the game but despite his business and energy, he appeared to lose the ball quite often. Perhaps I didn't watch the game intently enough and missed some good things he did, but for me personally I'd rather not.

he left because AZ offered him a 4 year deal and money we couldn't match, it wasn't anything to do with CL

it wasn't, if you want to blame someone then blame the then board that had slashed Cl's bidget meaning he couldn't offer Joey what he would of demanded

Just a quick suggestion.

Carlos Edwards?

Surely worth a go and realistic.

I like that one
