stez Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 I met Sir Fynwy the day before we beat Palace at Selhurst Park. Iwan Roberts scored after 9 minutes, and we hung on for our first win in the capital for donkeys, capped off with another win at The Valley just a few days later. loving the fact the football comes to the fore!
Corky Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 loving the fact the football comes to the fore! Even though she's got the games the wrong way round
Guest Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 loving the fact the football comes to the fore! Even though she's got the games the wrong way round I consumed a lot of alcohol in those days. I was on an all-dayer when I met SF, and have no recollection of getting home. The journey to Selhurst Park was more nauseating than normal.
Lillehamring Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 Copenhagen Central StationShe was asking for directions to the busses going to Oslo while I had managed to leave my bike on a train (long story). Exchanged numbers after 3 minutes of conversation before I had to run off to collect my bike at the other end of town. Now we live together can you still get this bus? how long does it take?
shen Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 can you still get this bus? how long does it take? GoByBus (cheapest 400-500kr return ticket), Swebus and Säfflebussen all go to Oslo, and the journey takes approx. 8-9 hours if it's a direct line

Dr The Singh Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 I met Mrs Singh in holy circumstances, at a Sikh Temple in Smethwick, it was a revelation from god him\her self that made us want to be together. We eventually got married at the same Temple, she regrets it ever since!!!

I met Sir Fynwy in a pub called the Swan and Rushes before a city gam and we have been together since!!!
Monk Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 Through Match.com ironically. Had been single for a while and decided to give it a try. Now we've been together over a year and a half. Hopefully longer if the frickin home office grant the visa she has applied for!
filbertway Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 at that student pub polar bear And what a fine establishment to meet at, well until they actually started asking for student ID as well as a yellow card on thursdays :\ ha.
hairy Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 I met my wife while traveling in Australia. I had a campervan and she and her friend were looking for a lift to Darwin from Catherine. I had been introduced to her by a mutual friend very briefly while in Melbourne. We travelled the rest of Australia together (along with her friend) hit it off and got together again when we were both back in Blighty which wasn't hard as she only lived in Market Harborough. I am a very lucky man to have her.
Thracian Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 Charles Keene College when I was 16. My wife was studying to be a secretary and I had to learn shorthand as part of my NCTJ training. She was walking up the stairs in her mini-skirt! That was coming up 42 years ago. Had I not been the only guy in the class I'd have had no chance!
Zingari Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 I met her in a club down in old soho Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry-cola She walked up to me and she asked me to dance, I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said Lo la for some reason you can't type Lo-la without a hyphen . it comes up as lola what's that all about
lou Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 Met him when I was a new starter at British Gas call centre - he was a trainer. He came in to give us a presentation and I was mesmorised by his Yorkshire accent. Id been on my own for about 18 months after being in a VERY bad place for a very long time and my self esteem was through the floor! I thought he looked a nice person and that was very much what I needed! Took me 5 weeks of subtle hints (apparently subtle doesnt work on Yorkshiremen!) in the end I got pissed off and just asked him if he wanted to go for a drink. Moved in 6 months later, engaged another 6 months later and married the next year. Hes changed my life, hes my rock and I cant imagine how things would be without him. I honestly think hes my reward for all the years of hell that preceded him.

skinnydipper Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 Met my wife on a blind date when she was 17 and I was 18. A mutual friend arranged it after she'd ended with her boyfriend and I'd failed in my pursuit of a girl at my sixth form college. The occasion was a house party at a friends house. It was memorable because my wife locked the car with the mutual friend's keys inside and we had to get the police out to open it up . I wore brown checked trousers, a white button down shirt with a brown and yellow tie, brown shoes and a yellow tank top. Fortunately she was able to see past my dress sense as I must have looked like I was on day release from the psychiatric ward. I also discovered that she couldn't drink much alcahol - 1/2 a cup of cider and I had a captive audience for the evening.
Monk Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 So Match.com does work for people. I've always been skeptical of whether it actually does. I'm sure there are plenty of cases where it does not work. I was just lucky I found someone on there who I knew straight away would interest me. She's awesome
Koke Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 I remember I actually sacrificed a City game by going to this crap cultural heritage thing. I wasn't a happy bunny when my sister-in-law practically forced me to drive her there. It all ended up in a blessing in disguise though. She looked too sweet and innocent and I knew if I didn't grab my chance I'd be kicking myself for the rest of my life - Been together for nearly 3 years now. I told her last year I'll marry her when Leicester reach the Premiership, only for us to be relegated a few months later. She didn't know whether to cry or laugh.
Guest Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 I met Sir Fynwy in a pub called the Swan and Rushes before a city gam and we have been together since!!! The pub is his favourite pulling place. I want to know why you keep sending him back here!!

Dr The Singh Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 The pub is his favourite pulling place. I want to know why you keep sending him back here!! Absence makes the heart grow fonder, plus we like to see 'other people', there's plenty of Singh to go around!!!
