Cox and N'Guessan

fair point and i can understand why you think that but i disagree, its competition for places and i think our problem over the last few season perhaps has been predictability. we dont have to play with a target man, i think fryatt provides finesse and the ability to draw defenders tight to him because facing the goal he is dangerous where as cox is different, he is most dangerous when playing on the shoulder of the defender.

however howard plays a different game aswell, yes he looks for space but he purposefully causes problems for the defenders by in a way following them and getting in there face to basically ensure they can not have an easy game and therefore cant hold a particularly high line and cant build attacks from the back as you regularly see the uniteds and arsenals of this world do.

i think if it were to happen, any combination of cox, fryatt, howard and maybe even another striker (if dickov isnt involved) would be a new option which could in essence create many different probles for any teams. that set up would be similar to wolves this season, iwelumo is the big man, SEB the man on the shoulder and andy keogh acts as the playmaker.

way way way too good a post for this thread...far too rational

I think he is worth £2 Million, maybe a bit more with appearances.

He can score from open play, he is quick and would give us another option to the long ball, knock down and score from 5 yards.

Sure others have failed who have done well in this league but that is no benchmark to view all players buy.

He scored 30 odd goals in a team that might well have been relegated if it was not for his efforts.

Is that worth a gamble? Well he is more proven than DJ so I would say yes go for it, I think he will do well for us.

Bloody 'ell! It's been a week now since Knowitall started this saga, and he said he thought they'd sign in the next few days. I need an update, proper!

For gods sake people, will you all just chill out. He never said they were done deals, so stop acting like they were.

Agreed, but he has this mythical, God-like status on here. Hopefully people will realise now that most of what he says, no matter how connected he is, is merely a better informed guess than most of us can make.

And actually, he kind of did say they were coming. He did say that they were 80 and 90% 'done', which would suggest that the deals were going to happen, and had 20 and 10% to run respectively.

I think the whole Knowitall thing is ridiculous anyway, it was much more fun in the old days when nobody knew what was happening until transfers had been completed

100% means they are coming... he clearly left disclaimers in there to cover himself should they not happen.

the more i think about this, the more i think we should sign this bloke. but is £2m too much?

No we didnt we spent 1.6m on DJ with another 0.5 payable when we got promoted to the Prem ha ha!

Personally dont think Cox is worth what theyre touting him for but if clubs are willing to pay it then I guess he is lol

I think what will happen is, Leicester will go quiet and let Celtic lead the hunt, then when Celtic do offer a £2.5m deal, Leicester will barge in with a smash and grab to Swindon and say, "here's £3m, take it or leave it now, biatches!"

Mandaric and his crew are gangstas.

Well in the past he's managed to "guess" about Alnwick in, Bori in, Gradel to Bournemouth, Bradley Johnson going to Leeds, Sheehan turning down contracts before it was reported and that he was going to Leeds, De Vries to Dundee United, Hayes to Northampton, our interest in Scott Sinclair (confirmed after by Holloway), Osbourne training with us and getting recalled by Villa (confirmed after by Holloway), Harry Worley in, Brett Ormerod going on loan to Forest from Preston, McAuley to Ipswich, our pre-season trip to Slovenia, Tunchev in, Gilbert in, James Chambers to Doncaster, Berner in, Dickov in, Powell in, Worley to Luton, Edworthy in, Verma in, Bunn in, and Brown and Hobbs on a permanent. If he keeps guessing like that then I'm going to keep listening.

surely cox is worth a gamble at 2.5 million if he improves with us we could be selling him in 2-3 years time for over 10 million surely good business sense this kid has got what needs to make a name for himself in the game
