Guest ttfn Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 I post on this forum only and only things I have heard or seen with my own eyes.I listen into things I have no right to have done. I did this with both these players. I was then lucky enough to talk to both players. I talked to N'Guessan for about five minutes. We laughed and joked and in this time he made it clear signing for Leicester was his number one choice. Coupled with the fact he was at Leicester at the request of Leicester. He said other things that gave he no doubt that a deal was very nearly done. Simon Cox I only talked with for about a minute. He seemed very happy with Leicester. He also said Leicester was a big step up and Leicester where a very big club. I can not tell you what was said in full as this may point to me. Also sometimes players tell you what they think you want to hear. I can not blame them as clubs say anything to get players to sign. Prime example of this was Patrick Kisnorbo whom would wind me up at every given chance. He even once got his mate to ring me up and pretend to be Martin O'neil. Saying Aston Villa are going to sign Patrick. It may have worked if his mate had no got a ozzie accent. I only post on here to give infomation to Leicester fans. I never lie or give misleading info. Yes I do have to guess sometimes but It is always an educated guess. I'm not saying that you're not an excellent source. Clearly you are. It's just that, as I said, you obviously hear more stuff than we do, and as you have outlined above, you never really know for sure if this stuff is going to happen. As such it is, by definition, a guess. There is such a thing as an informed guess and it is what you specialise in. Nothing wrong with that. People just need to stop being so bloody touchy
Red Leicester Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 The only point I have to add on this is: I will never give out information on transfer targets. Unless its like Wayne Brown and the deal is done. This will be made official soon. Surely this means that knowitall rule#1 is being soundly broken?
Dames Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 I'm coming in with an outside guess and saying its Mike Stowell.
MPH Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 The only point I have to add on this is: Surely this means that knowitall rule#1 is being soundly broken? not really - the only difference being that the word nearly needs to be added in front of 'done' i wouldnt say he has deviated hugely from this number 1 rule....
Finnegan Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 The only point I have to add on this is: Surely this means that knowitall rule#1 is being soundly broken? Either: 1. It's still going to happen, I've certianly seen nothing that makes the N'Guessan story look any less likely - his contract doesn't run out, presumably, until June or July and in the mean time their chairman has as long as he likes to try and rinse money out of us before a tribunal settlement. This is going to go on for weeks before we know for sure. We could also have agreed terms with Cox, which seems likely if Cox said Leicester were high on his list of priorities and we may just be waiting for Swindon to be assured they're not getting a better deal. 2. It's not happening but KIA was convinced it was. There's always going to be times people misunderstand situations, it's perfectly possible that N'Guessan had one foot in the door here and something happened last minute. KIA also admitted that sometimes players tell you what you want to hear and he might have gotten the wrong end of the stick from Cox.
lildave3 Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 Would you possibly call it DJ vu?*gets coat* It was worth it. I quite liked that. Then again i'm easily impressed
Candidcamera Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 If you read this thread he wasn't 100% sure. In fact he was surprised that MM had gone to the BBC with the news.
dandannieldanok Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 If you read this thread he wasn't 100% sure. In fact he was surprised that MM had gone to the BBC with the news. Maybe not but when they say something is 80% done, you do think immediately that a bid must have been accepted, which in reality is clearly not true. I don't doubt knowitall is telling the truth but I think on reflection whoever it is will realise those percentages were way off the mark.

DanTheFox07 Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Just read this on skysports, sounds realistic to me. The agent of Swindon's Simon Cox has offered an indication that the striker wants to join Celtic after claiming the SPL outfit and Leicester have had bids rejected. Foxes chairman Milan Mandaric has confirmed that the forward, who scored 32 goals this season, is a transfer target, while Robins manager Danny Wilson admits the player could leave. Reports have suggested that Leicester and Celtic have failed in attempts to capture Cox, and the claims of the player's representative - Alex Cowdy - have added weight to the speculation. Swindon are eager to keep hold of their star asset, who is understood to be valued at £2.5million by chairman Andrew Fitton, but it appears they could be fighting a losing battle, with Cowdy hinting that a move to Scotland would appeal. He said: "As far as I understand, there have been two offers put to Swindon that have been rejected - an offer from Celtic and an offer from Leicester City. "The Swindon chairman has come out in the press and said that Simon remains a Swindon player and it's going to take something special to get him away from the club and I think he values Simon at around £2.5million. "But Simon has made no secret that he would like to play at the highest level and Celtic come into that bracket."

People just need to stop being so bloody touchy Guess is a bit of a harsh word for it though. I mean "I spoke to N'Guessan, he said he liked Leicester, he was at the club, therefore I think he's going to sign" isn't a guess as such. A guess implies knowitall plucks his name out the aie ar random and posts it on here. It also implies (whether you mean it or not) that he's not that reliable because he is just making random guesses, which isn't true given his past history. At least stick the words "enducated and well informed" in front of "guess"
Alexikokopops Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 not really - the only difference being that the word nearly needs to be added in front of 'done'i wouldnt say he has deviated hugely from this number 1 rule.... "If knowitall changes his rule then he's not actually breaking it"
maddog Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Knowitall still didn't give us updated information though So still wondering about them both. We already knew knowitall listens in when he shouldn't and posts what he hears making educated guesses, it's not like the club would let him find stuff out and reveal it to us first is it. I think knowitalls fantastic, but i would have liked to have known updated information on Cox and N'Guessan not something i already knew And the both nearly done needs to be taken off the subtitle so new people browsing the site don't think we have nearly signed them both.

According to his agent, Cox would prefer a move to Celtic and Celtic and Leicester made bids ( http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...5339437,00.html ). Not sure how to square that with the Swindon chairman's claim that Celtic haven't actually made a bid. If that claim is true, then we are the only club to have formalised our interest, and the agent is presumably trying to encourage Celtic to get involved. That's my take at reading between the lines. If we are the only club involved, that would be a good sign.
coale39 Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Do you think we could have a sticky thread where only knowitall can post in?
Babylon Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Do you think we could have a sticky thread where only knowitall can post in? nope
Finchy Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Simon Cox's agent is a cunt. Just doing his job to be fair, getting as much as he can for him.

Foxhateram Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 nope well done babylon. If we had a thread that only had KIA's posts in it, then he would be found it. Pretty pointless. This whole debate seems a bit silly. KIA obviously just posts what he hears and only posts when he is sure (This is proven by his outstanding record of getting things right). The way some of you are questioning him is unfair. If i was him i'd think well why am i going out of my way and risking my job for these people and stop posting. The bloke/Lady is doing a bloody good job of keeping this site informed on matters we shouldn't really know about. What a top notch person. As for n'guessan and Cox both would be lovely signings assuming we dont pay over the odds. However if Cox has said he doesnt particularly wan't to come here and want's to go to Celtic then let him go up to Scotland. This team is full of players that WANT to play for this club and Nige has made an internit family, which is part of our success this year. DJ is on his way out because he doesn't have that family mentality and Nige should only bring in players who want to be part of the family that is LCFC. Where Nige is the Dad and Milan in drag is the mother.
Joe. Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 He's already said he doesn't want to go somewhere to sit on the bench hasn't he? And that he doesn't want to move too far away from his home? Celtic definitely the logical choice there then...
SMX11 Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 He would make a huge mistake to go to Scotland, he probably wont get in their team and the standard is pretty rubbish. Mark De Vries was star attraction in that league... nuff said
foxoffderby Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Begining to get a bit naffed off with the cox situation, sounds like he either doesnt want to come to city, or his agent/chairman is trying to up the ante. Either way I think we should move on. Would love him here but we shouldn't be paying over the odds or trying to bring a player to the club who thinks were second choice....
dandannieldanok Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Just doing his job to be fair, getting as much as he can for him. Yes, typical agent touting, nothing really that bad about it. Of course he's going to plug Celtic more than us, Cox will get a higher wage and bigger reputation, in turn the agent gets more money.
