Old-school MTV and Much Music - those were the days.

It's one of my first picks for 90ies feelgood tracks. :D

Ray Cokes, most definitely. Brought reality into reality TV. lol Shame he was the patsy for the Hamburg fiasco.

Very popular also in Germany, as he does speak the language and he resides in the Hamburg area, if I'm not mistaken.

Later on, we got VIVA music tv, which was the German MTV. Highly entertaining, great moderators. So many different personalities, it was raw, it was wild, it was funny.

Can't say much the same about today's TV climate... Bit bland and too streamline-y for my taste.

I remember that night in Hamburg very well, really sad, I remember him having the psychedelic furs perform on his last show, MTV isn't as good these days, but there are so many different music channels now that it was always going to get diluted, and with the internet MTV just isn't as relevant as it once was..

My old phone with its dodgy music app finally died the other week so I’m finally on the Spotify wagon, set up a couple playlists and was reminded of some real diamonds
