iancognito Posted 25 June 2009 Posted 25 June 2009 Millwall continue to have problems with hooliganism, but I wouldn't say their fans cause trouble every week, or that they 'get away with' it. Indeed, if anything, the most common problem Millwall fans have is that the police are too heavy-handed towards them, because their reputation seems to go before them... You'd be pretty pissed off being a 'normal' Millwall fan with all the things their minority get up to. Everything good they try just comes back at them. I notice Tigers fixtures came out today with most of the games being put down across three possible dates ie 7/8/9 September etc next to them. They're well prepared for the telly & football spreading their games all over the place.
StanSP Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Boxing Day clash with Tigers: http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/news/Leiceste...il/article.html. Make Tigers play on Sunday. EDIT: Also, There is also a potential clash the following month, with City at home to Ipswich on January 9 and Tigers scheduled to entertain Wasps.
Frenzied Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 This whole fixture clash thing has got me really baffled. We used to play at home when the Tigers did; has it all of a sudden become dangerous?
StanSP Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 This whole fixture clash thing has got me really baffled. We used to play at home when the Tigers did; has it all of a sudden become dangerous? Tigers have a bigger stadium now, meaning more people will be in and around that area. More people meas more police presence. However, all the Leicestershire police obviously can't be around Walkers Stadium and Welford Road. So games have to be played on different days.
Granno Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 This whole fixture clash thing has got me really baffled. We used to play at home when the Tigers did; has it all of a sudden become dangerous? Extended Caterpillar stand capacity.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 RE the Tigers game I do hope that we get preference over the Tigers. We bent over backwards for them last season, letting them use our stadium, making us move our game We play donny on the 28th, we can't play on the 25th (but I bet some of you would like it, get away from the in-laws ) and we cant play on the 27th, one day before the Donny game No, we should get preference Though I hear BBC Radio Lestuh are reporting they have resolved the issue
Ultra Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Back in the days when Tigers used to play Barbarians at Christmas, they had no problem with switching to 27 December. Why should it be any different now? It seems that the "journos" at the Mercury had a slow news day, so attempted to create conflict where none existed. I also suspect that the Tigers-Wasps game will be moved by Sky.
Corky Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Boxing Day is a traditional date in the football calendar, and a real chance to get a big crowd in. I can't see the Tigers struggling to fill their new stand, so they'll probably be the ones to move to the Sunday.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 I can see where Frenzied is coming from. Last season that lot didn't have a bigger ground and we still got fcuked about...and we have played on the same day in recent years. They can fecking move it.
Babylon Posted 2 July 2009 Posted 2 July 2009 The Newcastle away match has been moved to the Monday night (August 31st) and will be shown on Sky.

Bryn Posted 2 July 2009 Posted 2 July 2009 This game was the one thing I had pencilled in all summer and then I got invited to a engagement do on that one day, so I'm happy about this. I was fuming when I found out I couldn't go.
Libertine Posted 2 July 2009 Posted 2 July 2009 Jesus Christ! Since when do games get played on mondays (apart from bank holidays) When you're in the CCC.

dandannieldanok Posted 2 July 2009 Posted 2 July 2009 This is why my family don't pay for sky and why I'm very unlikely to ever pay for sky in my lifetime. Monday night is a sodding joke, fook off sky.
