DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 The lad must be given a fair chance before any criticism is voiced. Nigel obviosly thinks he may be a player worthy of pulling on a Foxes shirt, so we must wait and see. Best of luck to him.
The Doctor Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 seemed ok at L1 level but doubt he'll cope in the championship. we shall see though.
Maybes Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Yes! He will be reppin' leicester's night clubs again. Im sure NP has ideas for him.
Gaffer Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 And this makes it how many in total? Just to clear it up..
davieG Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Another slow news day down at LCFC, no commercial news so they have to come out with something about signing a footballer. I wish they'd get down to the real business of making money!
FleckneyFox Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 I think he'll do Ok on a year contract. There wont be any pressure to start him and he offers something a bit different. Versatile aswell. Incase anyone missed it 6 month contract for Pentney. With him and Cisak both on 6 month deals that possibly indicates to me that we may not get another Keeper until January. So if what Milan said post season is to be believed only 2 more players to come in. Still waiting for him to splash the cash. I think the last 2 players will be either 2 strikers or a striker and another right back. Plus a couple of loanees.
Cobbo Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Good - he is a confident young man who has potential - we will have to see how it goes.

Babylon Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 One year deal speaks volumes, we're just going to see how the lad goes. He obviously had something about him that we NP felt warranted a further look. Bonus is we are keeping together most of the squad from last year, which means lots of players in positive spirits about the place. Which can only help.
Legend_in_blue Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 If he can toughen up a bit and add some sort of end product to his flair on the ball, he will turn out good. Go out and prove yourself and show us what you can do.
Jimmy Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 good move IMO, he won't be on much, its only a 1 year deal so if he's shit we can just get rid and its more cover in an area we were fairly thin in
whitlock Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 One year deal means the lad should, buckle down work hard and work towards a contract extension next season, he cant/wont be able to "take it easy" so hopefully will see him put in a good shift for the team!
Jimmy Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 And this makes it how many in total?Just to clear it up.. Hobbs Brown Nielson Weale N'Guessan Ajdarević 6 signings and its still June

Which can only help. Completely agree. He did show brief glimpses of talent in his cameo appearences. With a bit more polishing and confidence he could prove to be another fighting for starts. On a free as well, and probably okay wage demands. Definately worth another look over the course of a full season.
Tomassi Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 this lad will become a first team player mark my words!

Not just that, but the cocky nature he exhibited when he first came to the UK seems to have vanished. That lad would never have signed a one-year deal with a Championship side so it may be that we are about to see a more pragmatic and mature approach to his game. There's one thing I'm sure of, and it's not Pearson's ability to sign the right players - it's Pearson's ability to get the performance out of him if he has it. I'm delighted with the length of the contract mind, a reflection of a more sensible approach to running the squad?

I'm delighted with the length of the contract mind, a reflection of a more sensible approach to running the squad? I hope you're right on his cocky nature, the way he celebrated with the team at Southend seemed to show how much he wants to be a part of the side and how well he has integrated with the squad. Hopefully that attitude will be reflected in his play, as you have noted. What you've said about Pearson getting the best out of his players is exactly the quality so often admired in O'Neill, let's just hope that Pearson can prove himself to be as adept a Championship manager. His record in signing players has actually been very good (though the role of his backroom staff cannot be overstated in that) but the way he inspired the existing players of the 07/08 debacle to League One victory is perhaps his biggest achievement. I see no reason why he can't carry on the good work next season, Astrit included. If he proves himself, I daresay his contract will be extended sooner rather than later. If he doesn't, then the club isn't tied to a player who will never get a game in a million years as we have in the past.
Kilworthfox Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~1708634,00.html Wank! 6th signing ha jokers
Bert Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Let's give the guy a chance, eh? He's been given a one year contract to prove himself, if it doesn't work out, then so be it. People will never make it these days if they don't get given a chance. Technically he looks very good, and hopefully with a bit more work and a good pre-season under his belt, he could prove to be a valuable sqaud player for us. He must have something about him if he caught Liverpool's eye and Nige wants a second look.
Jimmy Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Let's give the guy a chance, eh? He must have something about him if he caught Liverpool's eye and Nige wants a second look. from what I saw last season, which weren't much granted, he seemed to have ability, but if anything was trying too hard to make an impression to earn rather then just getting on and playing, maybe he was more relaxed in training so Nige saw just how good he was

General Smuts Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Just searching through the PFA Player Transfer Directory and i see Astrit hasn't got a contract yet. Psychic Smuts HAHAHAHA!! You are one unbelievable person!! fook me i mention him and 11 minutes later he signs!
iancognito Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 There's no point being negative about Astrit or saying the juries out because it wasn't like he came in during a good run and played a dozen games, he's a teenager who had a few minutes here and there during a tricky spell at the end of the season. He's got a clean slate, a full pre-season to bed in and get to know the team properly and then a full season to earn a deal. He might end up being the new Hellings, he might end up being the new Izzet, lets hope it's the latter.
