StanSP Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Fingers crossed I just have a cold, how did yours start? Did you feel crap pretty quickly or could you feel it coming on slowly. I had a cold this week but there were times where I thought I might have it. Went to a concert on Sunday, and it would have made sense that at least one person near me might have had SF and passed it on. But, I'm fully better now. I had all the symptoms of SF, but not all at once i.e. high temp one day, runny nose another day and headaches other days. Nosebleeds some day too.
GLC Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Well I was correct, I have woken up today with a bit of a temperature and runny nose.Fingers crossed I just have a cold, how did yours start? Did you feel crap pretty quickly or could you feel it coming on slowly. I made an appointment to see my doctor because i didnt want to ring up It started off with me having a sore throat, a really high temperature and cold like symptoms (i.e. blocked and runny nose) I then got stomach cramps, diarrhoea and sickness and a really bad headache as the day progressed. That was day one. Day two followed that with body aches, sudden tiredness and loss of appetite. It's nasty
lou Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 They do say that everyones symptoms can vary as well.... my child started with a stiff neck and headache then the temperature soared and the aching started. Shes not got out of bed for 3 days and has been sick a couple of times though they reckon that could be down to the Tamiflu. Shes not had a blocked nose just a bad cough. Was coughing up a bit of blood at first but thats stopped. The main symptom is the high temperature we got told.

Babylon Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Fingers crossed it's just a sniffle, supposed to be going to watch oasis tomorrow.
Fox You Forest Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Didn't know where else to put this. (it's to do with swine flu though)I didn't know Micah Richards had swine flu: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/8145752.stm But he's making a swift recovery apparently. Was just reading about that on Sky News website.. "At first I thought it was a really bad chest infection, or maybe alcohol poisoning. I bet Mark Hughes will be pleased.

"At first I thought it was a really bad chest infection, or maybe alcohol poisoning.I bet Mark Hughes will be pleased. to be fair though hes a young lad on holiday I bet Hughsey caned it at that age too. Cant see it being a problem but it did make me laugh when I read that too
Babylon Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 My child went very quickly and didnt have a sniffle at all. Hope your ok for your gig anyway Cheers!! I feel ok in myself, just had a headache last night woke up with a slightly higher temp and very minor sniffle. I'm going even if I'm ill... I've been waiting 8 months for this!!!!
Asha Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 I'm not worried now it's the end of term. I'll be in solitary confinement for 7 weeks anyway, always am.
Matt Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 A bloke at works son has it, Coughing up blood and stuff I've still got my sniffle and a sore throat/tickely cough has started, Don't feel too bad and i've had the sniffle since last Thursday so guessing if I had the Swine Flu i'd be a lot worse by now.
C-man Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 We had a meeting at work today about it. One of the manager's daughter has apparently got it and she came in yesterday before she went to the chemist to pick up the Tamiflu drug. The order given to her was to stay off work for 10 days in order to keep it from spreading across the firm. The company is now fully expecting people to drop like flies claiming that their spouse/siblings/children have got swine flu in order to some time off work. The head of Personnel has even compiled a list of the people she thinks are most likely to use it as an excuse to skive off work!
James. Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 Swine flu calls to GPs 'jump 50%' The UK is due to receive around 60 million doses of the vaccine - enough to cover half the population - by the end of December. Either immigration really has got out of hand, the BBC can't do maths, everyone needs 2 doses or there are actually only 30 million doses in total.

There is a normal cold going around too because I have it at the minute, or at least I think it is the common cold. No doubt lots will be claiming it as swineflu or going into panic mode over a sniffle.
Dr The Singh Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 SOme gimp at work place is suspected to have Swine Flu, turns up at work with a mask on, thinking it was ok to do so...........................if I get Swine Flu, i'm gonna kick the shit out of the cooont!!!

People who are walking around dont have Swine Flu - it knocks you off your feet. You got to your Oasis gig ok then?
James. Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 Yeah thats what we said. My Daugther I think definately has had it as shes been very ill which is not like her. People who are walking around dont have Swine Flu - it knocks you off your feet. Effects people differently though doesn't it. Generally speaking it seems to be regarded as relatively mild compared to other strains of flu. Apparently you can get it and not even show any symptoms.
Daggers Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 I had swine flu. I went to work. They got very upset about it. It's a fucking bad cold people, that's all. Pop some paracetamols and get on with your life.

Unlucky for my kid to get a bad attack of it then bless
Webbo Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 I'm not sure if I've ever had flu. I've had some heavy colds where my body's ached. How do you tell the difference?
Zingari Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 I'm not sure if I've ever had flu. I've had some heavy colds where my body's ached. How do you tell the difference? with swine flu you get rashers all over your body and crackling in your ears
James. Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 I'm not sure if I've ever had flu. I've had some heavy colds where my body's ached. How do you tell the difference? If you get flu you'll know it. Maybe not with swine flu as it can be mild but I've had flu before when I couldn't leave my bed for about 3 days.
Dr The Singh Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 I understand there's various strains and the effects can be from very mild to be very heavy flu like, but my boy has had health issues, and hence would like to avoid it!!!
Daggers Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 I'm not sure if I've ever had flu. I've had some heavy colds where my body's ached. How do you tell the difference? Nobody gets colds anymore - Labour upgraded them to flu in the last parliament. It's all to do with equality of opportunity, free more serious ailments for all
Babylon Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 You got to your Oasis gig ok then? Yeah I was fine, that's what I don't get. The bug I had the other day was gone when I got up to go on Sunday. Then It came back yesterday morning but I felt much worse with it... Still ok to be up and wandering about the house though. I have the week off work anyway which is annoying, i'm always ill when I have a day off!!!!
