Loughborough Dynamo & Tamworth

Good result in my opinion.

Tamworth is always a really difficult place to go and get a result. Few first team faces missing, one of our key men taking a knock, it aint bad at all. Definitely would have taken the draw before the game.

Now we know we can go to the smaller teams and get something out of them it's onwards and upwards.

yeah great result

As somebody always posts about now after the first pre season game, it means absolutely nothing. WBA managed to send the first team squad to Histon and lose today, don't see them being relegated... we conceded 4 at Hinckley last season and ended up with the best defence in League One. Today was about game minutes for the majority of the first team squad (although 5 of our likely first match-day squad weren't even on show). Some of the players in the second half today had already played in a game!

Enjoy a saturday where we don't win, and we shouldn't care - It'll all get serious soon enough!

Not the best of games, but what I expected really, Really don't find friendlies interested and can't get into them but go because its football!

Didn't play that good, but again what I expected really, friendlies are all about getting the fitness.

I would have thought that was obvious.

The positives from Loughborough Dynamo game were Nicky Adams and Billy Kee played well and looked up for it. Luke O'Neill looks a great prospect aswell

I dont think anyone really stood out at Tamworth, but it is the first pre-season game.

Gotta say I was quite impressed by Neilson. Having said that i'm not taking anything or worrying about abit of a poor performance in a friendly so i'm not going to take too much and get too excited by that, we'll see though. Good or bad you can't really judge to much in friendlies IMO.

I thought Neilson was good too. Do we know when the squad for Slovenia will be out?

Someone told me Simon Cox played shit in their friendly and missed a penalty.

*high five*

It's true.

WBA missed two penalites in final 9 minutes and lost to Histon.

Couldn't give a toss either way tbh. :dunno:

He chose to join another club over us, big deal. Think we should get over it now!

What load of rubbish, even though it's just a friendly I thought they'd be action. I had that feeling that Leicester were passing too much. Tamworth should be pleased with themselves as they did look the better side. Llyod Dyer was the only best player on the pitch for us.

I thought they'd be more Tamworth fans though as the 1,400 was mostly Leicester Fans as I reckon only 200 of them was from Tamworth.

Not the best performance at Tamworth.

A few players looked VERY rusty - particularly Chambers, who hasn't had a proper game since the Rotherham horror show last November.

Decent turnout of City fans, though, and plenty of new home shirts on display.

Yeah if i had to pick anyone it would be Neilson and Hobbs but all in all is was a poor performance. But like you say you cant really judge too much in friendlies, especially the first one.

We were very poor at Tamworth but there goes it's a run out and will do them good. Berner stood out for me and was also impressed with Morrison ofr someone so young he doesn't half organise well and shows tremendous amounts of confidence watching him up close.

@Luffbra:

Key looks a unit, plays with passion, has an engine and demonstrated some excellent close control, vision and range of passing.

Verma impressed me, I want to see more of him.

Astrid was bollocks - she kept making the wrong choice and playing shit passes. I've seen enough of her now to question her signing.

Brown ruled.

Gradel was not firing, Dickov was Dickov (and not worth playing) and Joe is not worth big money. No one else was a stand out for me there.

@Tammy

Zzzzzzzzz. That was a dull, insipid performance. Oakley looked good but Tamworth had all the passion and we allowed them to dominate far too often. Neilsen, as others have praised him, failed to link play, pass, tackle, overlap or shoot. He was, aside from the fouls, wank.

Thank God I got to watch Muzzy play tonight.

Really?

I'm glad we have signed him but I thought he was quite poor yesterday tbh, he nearly cost us 2 goals from where I was watching.

Loughborough Game

For me I thought in the first half Leicester bossed the game. Kee did what he always does, scores goals. In fairness I've seen him play alot better but he scored one and was directly involved in the other 2. What more could you ask for from a centre forward? He looked busy and is deceptivley quick for a lad of his frame. Also suprisingly good in the air. He impressed me today, especially considering he is now playing against men and not boys in the academy.

Aman Verma also impressed me. He didnt look out of place atall and didnt give the ball away. Very tidy player and deserves his chances. Although I understand he isn't going to Slovenia which is a shame.

Nicky Adams was one of the best players on the pitch today. Great close control, coasted passed players and created alot of openings.

Wayne Brown and Boulger were solid and dominated in the air. Cool and calm in possession. Brown is a great asset to the squad.

O'Neill also was very steady, for me he is the better full back than Mattock. Joe has a big year ahead of him. He has to start justifying all the hype surrounding him.

Gradel showed flashes of brilliance but lacked a killer final ball at times.

Astrit struggled. He has not impressed me atall yet. Hopefully Pearson has seen something that will justify his signing.

To be fair to Dickov, he has lost his pace, but still worked hard. I would much rather have Kee involved than Dickov. But by all accounts Dickov is brilliant with the young strikers and is trying to help them as much as he can. He isn't bitter that they are up and coming and he is past it. He takes on a mentor role which is a credit to him.

All in all a decent work out. Dynamo are a good outfit and will do well in their league next season. And for the lad who asked, Callum Ross did play and to be fair he was decent.

Edit: Spoke to Pearson walking back to the car. He confirmed Wellens, N'Guessen and Fryatt not involved due to fitness. I asked about the Fryatt Wigan rumour, the response.....''F**king' No Chance!'

Joe doesn't have to justify anything, he isn't responsible for it, in fact he's a victim of it because idiots continue to judge him by it instead of what he actually is, a young left back that's still learning the position at the professional level

Leicesterboi, you're bang on there, man. I agree with everything you said. Kee should be on the bench a lot more next season.

"F**cking no chance!" - haha.
