Leicester Rule! Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 Have heard that Bernie might be dead. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/F14184934?thr...268&show=50 Not sure if its true.
Koke Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 Can't be true - my brother saw him in Loughborough at the friendly.
isaidno Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 If he has it was sudden, I see him in Loughborough a lot walking down Derby Road
Guest Bilo Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 Bernie isn't dead. He's like Captain Jack from Torchwood.
jonno24 Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 Bernie isn't dead. He's like Captain Jack from Torchwood. A gay alien ?
Filberts lovechild Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 There's a couple of posts on 606 reporting that Bernie has passed away. Anyone know about this? I will be devastated if this is true. My vote for the statue outside the Walkers is Bernie, probably in a pose nicking someones pint!
Stuliasz Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 Looking at the posts it seems like an unsubstantiated rumour.
ArnarGunnlaugsson Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 Saw him at the Loughborough Dynamo game on Saturday if that helps.
Guest Bilo Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 A gay alien ? A possibility, especially with enough beer in him. I was referring more to the immortality though.
Guest Bilo Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 Do we really need two threads? http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.ph...p;#entry1426126
hairy Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 to the annual 'He's dead' thread. It must be the 4th time?
Daggers Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 It must be the 4th time? He's risen more times than Jesus to the power of John Holmes.
Cobbo Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 My brother walked in from work and pronounced his passing to me yesterday. 'someone at work said that the Leicester fan in a silly hat that starts all the songs has died'. Sounds reliable. Starts all the songs. by the time the game starts, speech is beyond him. And me, in fact. Anyway, hope he is ok.
lou Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 I hope hes ok too...................... I just hope that if he is OK that I dont ever have him sat in close proximity to us at matches again. He STINKS soooo bad.
Tilley Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 Don't get me wrong, I hope he's ok.... but, legend?? !
Head Honcho Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 I hope hes ok too...................... I just hope that if he is OK that I dont ever have him sat in close proximity to us at matches again. He STINKS soooo bad. 4 away games last season I found him standing next to me-luckily because of the terracing I was able to retreat to a safer distance.
Matt Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 He stood next to me at the bar in Crewe (Last game of the season) and started chanting at me (With spit flying everywhere ) and yes he stunk. Hope he's ok though.
Finnegan Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 The Bernie Mania always struck me as a bit off, to be honest. No doubt I'm being overly PC but I always found it a little bit sad. Everyone harping on about how much of a legend he is isn't exactly cheering along with him, they're ultimately laughing at a chap who's clearly not all there. Hope he's alright, sad if not. But I agree with Tilley really... legend? Christ.

BoneDog Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 First time I met him he was coming out of a shop with a can of Carling and he started singin to me Mrs! I didn't know who he was then but thought he was a good laugh. Everytime I've met him since (usually at train stations or wandering the streets at away games) he's always sung the same songs to me. He always sings "in your Yorkshire slums" and a variety of other Leeds songs. He's defo a character.
Asha Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 He was sitting in front of me on the coach to Oldham. Kept standing up and shouting 'shit ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh' spraying me in the meantime. Good laugh though, but as mentioned I wouldn't call him a legend.
