Jon the Hat Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 Another golden oldie from the past i am waiting for a rumour starting on Viduka. The main difference being viduka would be a class signing?
Shipman Out Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 WHAT A fooking JOKE! Bridges Jesus this best not be for real id rather have L Hughes if this is the market were in
haraven Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 If fit he is good enough for this level, but like others I am concerned about his fitness. However, we do need strikers, and Teblin's Cottee idea ain't bad. Cottee was class for us.
Fox in a Box Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 He turned us down a couple of years back so no thanks..
foxoffderby Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 No way. Too many injuries over the years. Past it. Another Dickov. We should be looking strikers who younger and and more ambitious
davieG Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 Lincoln are kee as our fame spreads http://www.lincoln.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=162795
Charnwood Norris Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 He's 31 soon, yesterdays cripples, too unfit for canaries trial. No ta. It'll be as risky as a blindfolded Michael Owen set off across an Afghan minefield...without mines...just uneven surfaces.
dandannieldanok Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 No way, would rather have Dickov play all 46 games than that waster.
General Smuts Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 I'd rather Nash Bridges. And Don Johnson's probably fitter too.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 The main difference being viduka would be a class signing? Yeah. But hes injury prone on the same scale as Owen-no second thoughts he cant be
Dan Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 What a pointless signing that would be, i'm not fully confident in Fryatt and Howard as it is but i'd go for those two above any of them with Bridges, shit idea for a signing.
Salieri Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 If fit he is good enough for this level, but like others I am concerned about his fitness. However, we do need strikers, and Teblin's Cottee idea ain't bad. Cottee was class for us. Yeah but Cottee was class throughout his career. Bridges started out as a promising striker and has ended up a fat, lazy, waste of space.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 Interesting one - I can't imagine he could command that big a wage, the man clearly has skill in abundance so would be good for the young lads, and he would be hungry and want to prove something. True his ability to get injured a lot is a worry, but he could be worth a punt. I sense that we're not as an attractive option to players in this division as people would like us to be. (eg, West Brom, Boro, Newcastle, Sheffield Utd, Ipswich, QPR and even Forest appear to have attracted a calibur of player that we haven't.) Again, this may not be a bad thing, Nigel has set his stall out as wanting players who want to play for the club and the desire to make something of themselves.
Cobbo Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Lynn NO!
MPH Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 I am hoping this is a replacement for a departing Dickov not ASWELL as Dickov... 2 strikers very much the wrong side of 30 doesnt excite me at all....
Fox92 Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Yeah but Cottee was class throughout his career. Bridges started out as a promising striker and has ended up a fat, lazy, waste of space. He wasn't fat and lazy otherwize he wouldn't be a professional footballer. He was most probably stocky than anything else, I don't believe or think that footballers are fat otherwize they wouldn't be able to play sureley? He was a very talented footballer and obtained a bad injury. Again, he is another quality player that has been ridiculed by injuries - join the list, Redknapp, Morris etc otherwize he would of most probably have been a Premiership striker. Comparing him to Cottee is out of this world though. Cottee was a natural striker, like Kevin Phillips, where as Bridges isn't. The records are alike though (nearly) M. Bridges Games: 262 Goals: 62 Games played without scoring: 200 T. Cottee Games: 603 Goals: 240 Games played without scoring: 363 Anyway, I wouldn't take him now. Lovely player though, quality finisher and has scored some great goals against us - Hull and Carlisle at home! What a beauty that Hull on was though. But, overall, no thanks.
Budweiser Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Michael Bridges? Exactly. Would be a terrible signing.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Why would we want Bridges? He was once a ver good player who was injury prone, but if Carlisle didn't want him why would we need him? But if we did at least he couldn't score against us in the future like he normally does vs us.
