Ridiculous that Hughes is out of a job, even more so when you think that Benitez still has one despite Liverpool being closer to relegation than the top of the league.

Another case of 'Arubs Ruin Football'

Comon, Hughes has done a good job with them. These fools don't know football.

Fook off arub investment.

Nice work bringing in a little racism there.

Harsh in some ways but Hughes will go elsewhere and do well and 2 wins in 11 or whatever it is, isn't going to keep you a job in a club with their asperations. Benitez is still there because a) he's proven he can do very well and b) they can't afford to offload. Harsh but actually I can understand it.

Gotta admit I thought you were going down a whole different route there.

- Radio Show where comedians with sports knowledge make nonsense arguments on various questions.

There was a clip of Hugh Grant interviewed

Interviewer: 'What you reckon to Roy Hodgson's management?'

Hugh Grant: 'I'd pretty much sleep with him'

Hence one of the topics - 'what sportsman/women who you least like to sleep with'.

It's good fun.

Racism??!?!

The investors want Man City to win the league, and to be honest. It's pathetic how Hughes must have known his fate before the game, and to have Mancini at the game takes the piss. It ain't gunna happen. So my post is now being called the 'Worst' in this thread.

@Breadandcheese -

They sacked Mark Hughes, He's done a very good job with them. So before you call me an idiot, Take a look at ya self pal. ;)

Arub Investment didn't do any good at Portsmouth, we all know the mess what happened there.

^^ Scholes was dismal ;)

Jesus wept. 6th in the table, semi finals of the League Cup and lost two all season.

Ridiculous sacking and a wank replacement.

First part yes

but WTF is the second part about!

"Mark is very realistic about the situation," Bevan said.

"He knew the key goals he had to hit. His target actually was the top six. He was very disappointed because they were on target for that.

"For me, his reputation is still intact.

"Only two defeats - the fewest in the league - semi-finals of the Carling Cup, to me it looks like the goalposts were moved and the decision was made some time ago that he wasn't to continue in his role past today.

"I'm very disappointed for Mark and indeed the City fans.

"Mark would have delivered continued success without doubt if more time had been afforded to him and his staff, but he's left a platform for the next manager without doubt."

One tends to forget in all this that Hughes had been at the helm for nearly 18 months and that he had a net spend of £200 million +. If Man City had lost today or even just drawn how many would be querying this decision?

Whether or not Man City are really the World's richest club is a moot point but given that Hughes' resources were greater than anyone else's his results were surprisingly modest. As for the fourway contest for the fourth CL spot, Man City would be third or even fourth favourites for it with most punters.

It appears that some sort of deal was made with Mancini on December 2nd before the Carling QF. The speculation is that the City board want him in situ before the transfer window. One could surmise from this that there are certain targets that maybe only he could land (half the Inter squad).

I would like to point out to the insular ignoramuses here that Mancini won Lo Scudetto with Inter for three consecutive seasons. That is some feat even in the post calciopoli era.

Duh? Wot zat?

Mancini, who will take charge of City for the first time in their Boxing Day clash with Stoke, had a brief spell in English football with Leicester at the end of his playing career in 2001.

He played only four games for the Foxes, but Peter Taylor, who signed Mancini in his spell as Leicester boss, said the former Italy star had shown managerial ambitions.

"He's a lovely man and was always asking questions," said Taylor.

You'd like to think he was asking questions like "Do you actually know what the **** you're doing Taylor?"

The answer he got was why he left so quickly.

Hughes' sacking may be harsh, but just look at how much he's spent. A distant 6th in the table with a heap of draws against teams who they should be beating, and beating by at least 2/3 goals. I'm not advocating the decision, but it's not really that much of a surprise.

What the hell are Manchester City on?

I feel sorry for Hughes, although he has spent a lot of money this season. Then again, they are 6th I think, what do they want?

That Henderson at Sunderland is good. Goal and a great assist. Thought he had knocked Given out with that goal of his!

Manchester United look rubbish at the minute although, Carrick and Fletcher were playing centre back.

Love Roy H though, he has done a great job at Fulham - should have been Manchester City's new boss

That Hull one was never a penalty.

Set to watch West Ham later...

Scholes is gash now. Has been for several years now. I'm sure I got shot down for saying this a couple of months ago.

He didn't want that ball though so :dunno:

Then again, I saw him loose the ball a couple of times during that game.
